I've seen several Harpy stacks stand and defend next to my 30 Halflings. Weird. Why would they do that?
And then they attack the Halflings a few turns later. I guess it has something to do with the spells Metataxer and Genie cast on Halflings. Harpies must've waited for the spells to expire.
Without knowing 'why', I can't plan how to use the Harpies' stupidity.
So, looks like I'm stuck at another Halflings vs Harpies battle.
Tried with 1 Sharpshooter, 3 Flies and 1 Naga and the Harpies are not stupid enough to block the Sharpshooter without attacking, which would've allowed the Naga to hit them without any of my creatures getting hit.

1 Naga and 1 Tree should be able to cover my shooters (Elfs and Halflings on day 2 or maybe Grand Elfs and Halflings on day 3) from the Griffins with the help of Advanced or Expert Curse. Maybe I should skip Dragons or Castle in favour of Grand Elfs on week 1. But that after beating Harpies.

How much health does Champion regenarate in Boneman!!!'s first fight in your games? 50 or all?
Because for me, it's 50 in SoD and full regenaration in Era, even if I load the same save.

Interesting, I am sure wog doesn't change regeneration rate. But Yona mod changes something with champions, try without?

Era 2.43. (Can't get 2.46 to start. Need to reinstall h3 sometime.)
Yona was off. Only SoD, Turbo WoG, Advanced Battle Hints and WoG were on.

Tried new game with just WoG, no other mods, clicked 'unselect all' on all 'WoGify options' screens and selected 'WoGify random maps', so that this one doesn't get wogified. Champion still regenerates all health.

I also seem to have a problem with fonts under Era (no problem if I start the game without Era). Map title is empty (no tildas in daily messages either) and I get weird characters instead of polish letters in buildings' names, other map descriptions etc.
But that doesn't seem related to different Regeneration.

I believe regeneration is 50 points, but I could very well be wrong on that...

Thats because he makes his maps with HD mod activated. In vanilla resolution, will get many weird things. I had to manually delete things from title to get it display. I never play with HD, that's why.

The name of this map intrigues me...

I avoided reading the spoilers. I will try this map soon, as I loved Metataxer's Revenge. Oh, and I support an English release!

The name it's not only to be seen as the essence, or spirit, of the map, it also spans it's fundamental soul. Like a book is rated by the cover, the mere thought of linearity opens the door to enlightenment.

Watch out for new riddles!

For now, day 2 looks like this:
1. frifix explores what he can (but doesn't open quest guard), fails to find any Expert Earth land (for Town Portal), then gets dismissed to avoid giving Archangels to La Strada.
2. Boneman goes east, picks a box with gold at the end of the path.
3. Mr. Fat releases Metataxer and takes a Gold Mine guarded by Unicorns (loses Sharpshooter and all 3 Flies), then goes towards Offense Scholar.
4. Metataxer beats Peasants, gets 30 Halflings and a Genie, beats Fire Elementals (loses 11 mana; too much?). Then picks Wood, leaves 30 Halflings and Familiar in Crystal Mine and maybe picks Mercury, then goes north.

Getting 2 most lightly guarded Mines seems like a good idea.

But taking losses seems wrong. Having Mr. Fat go around a Scholar (the one near Rampart that gives Fire Magic) and leaving some Crystals in the middle of a swamp while losing all Flies doesn't look right either.
So I think I didn't really solve day 2 yet. It's harder than day 1.

Mr. Fat can beat the Harpies on day 3 with 13 Grand Elfs and a Naga. Not sure if it's doable with Wood Elfs instead of Grand. Or with Halflings on day 2. Harpies are less stupid when facing Wood Elfs or Halflings.
And if I build Grand Elfs, I surely won't build Dragons+Castle on week 1.

Trying to interpret some hints.
"The royal Griffis need to be taken care of swiftly. You will need the help of one irregular ally."
Are you saying that Griffins need to be killed on day 2 (which is the earliest that I can reach them) and that I will need the help of a... Peasant?!

"Ask yourself: What's the highest efficiency building you could be working with? Don't waste."
By far the best dweeling is Tavern, but it's banned. 20 Grand Elfs in week 1 seem quite good, but by building them on week 1, I waste some week 2 troop production (no Dragon dwell or no Castle).

"There are SOME tasks the AI can help you greatly with..."
Well, battle vs Harpies relies on AI stupidity. Unless you mean something else. Some AI hero (Test ZY II) crosses a portal close to Zauberberg on day 5 (after my 5th turn). This hero can take care of some neutral stacks. But that's quite far from day 2 or 3.

"Go the lazy way...the easy win is hardest at the start.Aim for the top!"
Hmm... Somebody should sleep in town and somebody should go north?
Or maybe build up Mage Guild asap (aim for its top)?

Regards

You don't need to kill the Griffins on day 2, I'm not sure, whether that would be even possible.. the helper might be one who is hard to control...

The loss of some units may be bearable, but some units have special treats which should not be neglected...

The AI surpasses you in one thing, which you can make use of.

The dragons guarding the second city can be defeated extremely early, check the battlefield layout!

Aim for the top...of some cliff, maybe? Try the Irish den!

Upgrading the magic tower is generally not a bad idea, but only do it if you can benefit from it immediately! There are more important dwellers...

PS: Letting the AI fight for you is something I cannot change, but is generally not required. Also, there is a limited amount of creatures which are asked to be defeated by you. I can't control which creatures the AI wants to fight, do on your own risk!

If Angels kill you, it's probably because you forgot Elixir of Life.

Having done it myself, it's possible to defeat the griffins with only Sharpshooter+Fly. However the next fight is impossible with only these 2 creatures so you need to hire something else to help you. (There is only 1 possibility, should be pretty obvious )

Yes

Faerie Dragons will randomly select spells to cast, so just reload until they select Fire-based spells (Magic Arrow, Fireball, Inferno) so instead of casting they will attack.  IIRC they should die easily with Fire Shield+Retal+Attack.
