multiplayer crash, ST on

I have 1.5.1, HD, Hota, last updte 50 beta 39.

Started playing an XL Hota map 5/6 with a friend through the online lobby.
We tried the ST function, set the value to 147.

Some time in, both of us had the "this should not have happened, but it did" error. Asked me to send the crash log to a certain adress, but i didnt screen it and the .txt was empty. I can not locate a Hota_Log folder also.

I looked around the forum and saw only one person in the bug thread who wrote about the same "this shoukd not hve happened" error but it had no answer.

Is it a known error, or something specific?

Saved Games Disappearing post-updates

Hi all!

A gigantic size custom map I recently made has been bugging out my saved games. When I go to save the game (in HotA), the save file disappears! The Autosave file is gone too. I found this very odd and this has never happened to me before.

I checked the Games folder though, and the save files are still there, they just do not show up in game for some reason.

I know both the HD mod and HotA have had recent updates, so maybe this bug is related. Like I said, I have never encountered this issue before and have not found any other threads about a similar issue.

I have the most recent versions of HotA and the HD mod.

If this is not a bug, but something fixable, please let me know!

After updating to HotA 1.5.1 (from 1.4.*) I've noticed that the game score is calculated differently than before. The difficulty multiplier works as always had, but the base score is much lower than before.

It looks like the number of the owned castles was always equal 1, there was no graal bonus, no "defeated all" bonus, etc.

It's a bit annoying, when all my new games don't reach the top ten

It is not a bug. Now score is calculated another way. All original factors are taken into account, but balanced better: grail and "defeat all" now add only small bonus, while day count penalty is much more (but depends on map size and captured town count). Map difficulty now also adds bonus.
Score calculation now is more fair, as for the most of maps the hardest thing is to complete them as fast as possible, and in original score calculation the difference was very small, one-two days change nothing. Is was also easy to get very high ranks without any necessity of playing good.

Of course, new scores cannot be compared with old ones, old ones should be assumed wrong.

I'm not sure if this is bug or feature, but I'm still going to ask here. Is it intentional to have roads above special terrain, like in pic?

Looks like this is in the map editor. I can understand it being displayed on top of special terrain there; did you check to see if it's the same ingame during play?

Is it a map from HotA itself or fan made map? I guess it's HotA team map. There are fan made enchanced map editor versions for SoD and WoG and I guess HotA team has albo their internal enchanced map editor version too. In hota campaigns there are few trick that are impossible to do with public map editor so I think that map was tweaked a bit ;]

Yes. This seems to be a thing now. I'm not sure I like this change, but I understand why they did it.

Actually this was an older map done with Hota editor, probably 1.4. Roads were always under special terrain (as it was in SoD), and now in 1.5, they are above these terrains.

Hota artifacts make the game crash with HD mod


The Hota artifacts don't have correct sprites in HD mod and that leads to a crash, the game quits.
Didn't have that problem with the previous HD and Hota update.

For eg: You defeat a hero with Hota's artifact in his inventory. You get the artifact after winning, but the game instatly crashes then.

I am having the same problem in month 5 of the Gigantic map the devil is in the details. however I have investigated further, the save games are still accessible in game. The saves for some reason have changed from Multiplayer to single player, and you control a different character depending on when the change occurred. I have multiple save files from the same game, one from much earlier in the game that is still multiplayer, one single player from later in the game when it changed the first time, then after starting again from the still working multiplayer I made it back to month 4 week 2 day 4 and it changed to single player again. another side note is that all the files that have changed have the same file size of 983kb. I would love to be able to reverse this, or prevent it in the future.

I am playing HotA 1.5.1 with HD Launcher (5.0 beta39) via GameRanger.
When i host the game and want to load a game my friends game states that it tries to join a "load game" while it is in "new game" mode and we are unable to continue.
If i start a new game it works fine, he just can't join when i load a game.

This is either a HotA or HD mod issue:
Sometimes when AI is summoning a boat and moving his hero aboard, the game freezes and it will NEVER stop loading.
Sadly that has broken a few of my save games.
(I have newest version of both HotA and HD Mod.)

I didn't tested this solution but I'll try to translate from polish community fix for similar issue:

Try to load any save from any other map. Then save this 'save' under diffirent name. This trick should fix problem with broken multiplayer saving/loading in hd-mod/hota.

About missing autosave: enable hd-mod option like 'save all days (tournament mode)' ot sth like this.
