Single Player Patch

I have created this patch recently and decided to post it here. It aims to improve single player experience by giving computer players significant advantage without the need to use map editor.

It is best suited for playing random maps, although it will work just fine on fixed ones.

>>>DOWNLOAD<<<

All files (*.txt ones, not folders) must be placed into Data folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Heroes of Might and Magic 3\Data). Click 'Yes' if asked to overwrite.

Changes (from ReadMe included in the package):

RMG (no fort) - all original random map templates with fort (and all dwellings) removed from player's starting town; 8XM8 template fixed (pink isn't blocked in his starting zone anymore)

Magic Schools - choose one

Global Modules (same changes for both human and computer players):
-ArTraits - several minor artifact level changes:
a)Boots of Speed lvl 2->3.
b)Garniture of Interference lvl 3->1.
c)Surcoat of Counterpoise lvl 3->2.
d)Boots of Polarity lvl 4->3.
e)Endless Purse of Gold (+500/day) lvl 3->2.
f)Endless Sack of Gold (+1000/day) lvl 4->3.
g)All Diplomacy artifacts lvl 3->1
h)Emblem of Cognizance lvl 2->1.
-HcTraits - Diplomacy banned on level up, less useful skills banned on level up, computer players' aggression levels increased

Town Specific Modules (choose one folder contents):
Choose module to match the town you want to use. It is suggestested to give computer players different town than your starting one.
Changes:
-computer players' aggression levels increased
-computer players' chance to gain Diplomacy on level up drastically increased
-computer players' starting army size increased 3x (e.g. Shakti 300+ Troglodytes at start/tavern)
-computer players' starting stats increased 5x (e.g. Tazar 0/20/5/5 at start/tavern)
-computer players' will not be offered less useful skills like Eagle Eye, Scouting etc. on level up
-human player can recruit native heroes only
-human player will not be offered Diplomacy on level up

You should change module if you want to use different town.

Note: You don't have to use all of the modules.

Also keep in mind, that you don't need HcTraits.txt from 'Global Modules' if you are already using the ones from 'Town Specific Modules'.

Initial tests show promising results - computer clears map faster and is significantly more dangerous, especially in early stages of the game.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Does it work with vanilla H3 Complete (no mods)?

Of course no
However it works with 100% SoD features only, there are such mods.
Settings are modifiable during the game, so every one can find its custom difficulty.

Thought so. I just wanted to create a simple modification for vanilla game. I am considering adding towns for AI in RMG - even just one extra makes it a lot stronger. Another option would be setting guards in player's zone to 'strong', making nearly everything guarded.

Vanilla lacks the tools to really create dangerous AI, ie add extra creatures in pool and such, for random maps. The editor is very good when custom maps, you have a lot of options to create good AI, is just that for random you don't have the chance.

Anyway, every patch for less dumb AI is welcome, keep the good work.

Sal, the screenshot looks real practical. I hope you release it as a single mod rather than the combination of many mods. I like such mods of yours better when they are not wrapped up all together.
