hey there, i read about a rule in wcl named "No Red Rush"
it said "(Red player can't attack Blue or flag blue's unguarded town on Day 1 of ANY week after Red has bought some NEW army (in any town or dwelling) or Red has hired new hero)". does the red player have some kind of advantage over blue player? if yes then please tell me why.
also if you care about answering this: how in **** is LUCK a S.K.I.L.L?

I think the Red Rush rule has a paradox problem.. I mean, if the game doesn't allow the Red attack to the town day 1 of each week, then it means that Blue is always the 1st attacker whenever he wants! And this is an advantage in my opinion because the Blue doesn't need to spend money on creatures but something else on day 1 whereas the Red must spend on creatures in order to get defence... Which means that Blue has less things to worry about

So the solution to this can be that neither should be allowed to attack to towns on day 1. But then what about day 2? Maybe Red Rush rule should be included here? But then Blue has the advantage... Maybe we should not allow any attacks at all and, therefore, no online games should exist!

Red has advantage because he moves first day 1 of next week, which means he can buy more troops than blue and then attack him the same day. Red can attack blue only if he doesn't buy anything new that day. Its a great rule, because if it didnt exist, blue would always have 1 week population less army than red on the first day of that week.

There's no perfect enviroment possible in a HoM&M game. No Red Rush is the fairer of them (due to the week reinforments).

It's a consequence of being a turn-based game. The first player always has advantage, they say. It's a controversial subject, even with Chess (which has no resource collection or reinforcements to consider, just battling it out with what's on the board - and I don't consider pawn promotion a reinforcement, but rather as an ability that comes along with the pawn). The only way to handle it is to chop up a given turn in several rounds, separating the various options a player has into each round. Or perhaps just make a "creature buy" round, where each player gets the chance to benefit from the new weekly production (in form of creature growth and resource income) before the regular play is commenced. The only question is then, where do you draw the line for actions within that pre-regular-play-round?

Heroes 4 handled it, I believe. By removing the discontinuous creature growth.

I don't think it's always an advantage in any given TBS to go first. One could think up a game where going first means losing.

MtG handles it by not allowing the first player to draw a card on his first turn. So that the second has somewhat of a hand advantage and the first player (normally) has a field advantage.

never tried an online game before, but you guys talk like they place players directly in front of each other, i find most of the maps placing you in a closed position(quest guard, border guard and/or monsters) which makes you UNABLE to rush until you defeat the guards. does maps for online games change that fact. also the rule should be changed to "No Day-1 Rush". and as a fact, you guys should stop making tactics against the A.I, and make tactics that ACTUALLY WORK AGAINST HUMAN PLAYERS.

someone: man just rush the A.I day 1 and win, at least that's not forbidden.
me: no final battles? no difficulties? boring, next.

hey guys, sorry if it's off topic of MY OWN thread but i was just wondering, what would happen if you put a hero in a two monolith, and the A.I tries going through the other two way? would the game crash? would he be unable to go to the monolith? would you go to battle? would it crash the whole O.S? none knows... YET   test it please.
and if it blocks the way then i just created a new strategy called "Two Way Block". blocking the way of the A.I
A.I: what the ****?? WHY CAN'T I GET IN?!

Baning the red rush is the most pussiest thing to do. First, in order to attack on first turn, the red main MUST position at one turn from your town, on day seven. When he is in such fragile position, if you don't know how to get rid of him by using every tool available, including hit and run, then you deserve to die on first day.


Secondly, Herry is spamming the forums, he does not even read back the answers. He deserves a red rush.

Some red text by a moderator, I mean.

It's not that hard to do Sal, you do have 8 heroes, possibly some of them with TP(or even DD but unlikely)

And there's always the possibility that they have log+arties and you can't reach them from your town, especially can't reach them for repeated H&R.

In most cases tower plus walls should well balance out a week worth of troops.

If you're attacked outside of your castle, then that's just being bloody stupid.

Joonas, is VERY hard to do. Hit and run is also very hard to do. In 6 years that I played online, I NEVER saw Frank, or Mocara, or Vesuvius lose to hit and run or red rush. So for me the debate of "fair rules" is closed, I have proof that it is only tied to the (low) level of those complaining.

I DO read answers, why? WHY? i am hardly trying to build my reputation up, and while i was building a wall, the other guy throws a grenade at me while i was busy, and 'KA-BOOM', the wall is down. and however you take that, it was a joke. and please don't say i'm spamming. i hardly got my first yellow star. but i consider saying something against me WITHOUT proof a hit&run. just give me a SINGLE proof i spammed. now please excuse me, i need to re-build the wall the guy over there just boomed.
