Ukraine on the brink of civil war

Surprised there's no thread about it...

With Ukraine being dangerously close to what can be called a civil war and country dissolution, what are your thoughts on the matter?

Partition Ukraine and Belarus between Russia and Poland, and merge the Polish side with Lithuania, to restore the Commonwealth.

Serious answer: I don't know why Ukraine voted for Yanukovich in the last election, as it was highly likely that he'd be pro-Russia. Now that he is, they're protesting. They're right to protest and be pro-EU - the EU, for all its flaws, is much better than Russia. But I don't understand why they voted him in to begin with.

I'm guessing that those who voted for him aren't exactly the ones revolting right now

Ukrainians, Lithuanians and Poles mostly hate each other. It once lead to horrible events so nobody sane would ever want these countries to become a single state as long as nationalism is alive and well.

lithuanians and poles hate each other. but surprisingly, 34% of poolanders look positively.

And snow the commonwealth. I want the Grand Duchy back. We'll also need a bit of mothersnowing Russia and Moldovia.

Also I hope those bandits get it. I talked to some Ukrainians with a brain, and they do not support the maidan. maidown in my opinio would be better but those "protesters" are another type of stupid. plus, making fun out of mentally challenged people is not nice.

Those bandits are just cannon fodder. Klychko want's some power, so he's at it.

Most of the Ukrainians don't even want to join the EU.

absolutely no clue what s going on there, but I'm sure that after a war every country around will benefit from sweet deals, dealing with a much poorer country.

I agree with Kip. There are MANY students here that come from Ukraine and I hear the same.

This is manipulation. Its geopolitics. Ukraine must get into EU, for EU needs it, and not for Ukraine does. It may only harm them.

The EU needs more white snows(Oh, so even the N word is snowified? god damn you), or cheap labor. The Baltics, Bulgaria, pooland and Romania aren't enough.

Plus I've read somewhere, it was some legit scientists conclusions or so, that Ukraine has coal for at least a 1000 snowing years. Also, Ukraine is rich in copper as well.

But now isn't about EU, minerals or other things. The bandits want to see klytchko in power. And The mothersnowing yanks and EU fund the brainless boxer.

I say. I haven't even graduated from mothersnowing highschool and I'd still make a better politician than that prick.

What do you have against Klytchko?
I think a boxing politican is awesome. However, it seems like European and American intelligence don't want him as the next president.

I support the Ukrainian protesters who want to get rid of the increasingly authoritarian and corrupt Yanukovich. It is very important that the constitution is now reverted to its 2004 draft, where there was a healthier separation of power limiting the authority of the President. I hope and think Yanukovich will resign and in the upcoming parliamentary and presidental elections this year, candidates promoting further European integration instead of becoming a Russian vassal will get elected.

Immigrants work = they "steal" jobs, are being"abused" as cheap labour.
Immigrants don't work = they are lazy, "breeding parasites"

I remember when I was a kid, I used to compulsively ask my gramps who's playing, whenever he was switching channels and went over some sports.

And he'd usually go, "those on the left against those on the right, I think." Or something along the lines of, "I'm pretty sure it's the blues against the reds."

Whether the Ukrainians are going to take it up the arse from the Russians or in the mouth from Europe - or both - is irrelevant.

We all know the problem with any elections, as with so many other things, is that less folks generally have to put up with more folks. When those are dispersed equally inside a country, that's one thing. But when they inhabit separate regions - especially if you're unlucky enough to have anything desirable, like useful resources, or a valuable position - shyte is going to hit the fan when foreign backings and deals under the table start kicking in. For each faction in your country, you'll have a superpower playing it to its end.

This is why it's tough to have a functioning neutral non-superpower with an ethnic balance. It's precarious. Even Belgium, firmly backed by the Western bloc, is hard to hold together. Ukraine, Sudan, Yugoslavia, that tribe in Libya which constituted the main part of anti-Gaddafism, as opposed to the pro-Gaddafi tribe, the Shi'a and the Sunni in Saddam's Iraq... It's all not unlike those cartoons where you see some sheep hopping around and they turn into roast in the eyes of the onlooking wolf.

Splitting up looks like the smartest move, the gentleman's route out, Czechoslovakia-style. But Ukraine fashions itself a sovereign, indivisible country with a territorial integrity to keep. This is understandable and hardly about to change. What it means is that instead of drawing a line and letting people move left or right depending on whose giant throbbing penis they prefer to receive (as if they'd notice the difference), they're f-ing up everything good they have with petrol bombs and snipers, because of how much they value their country and, above all, their freedoms.

If you think that an immigrant who probably can't speak your language, doesn't have any contacts and so and you think he/she steals your job, than you're a brain dead idiot. A moron worse than them damn immigrants.

And yes, those who don't work are parasites. I don't even know how many Lithuanians are prolly abusing UK's welfare system. This kind of mothersnowing snows need to be deported back without the right to return.

And klytchko is just a puppet of the brussel's bums. Only morons wish to see him in power. He'll end up snowing up like Yushchenko did.

Yes and no. Ukrainian is the official language everywhere and everyone knows how to speak it. The spoken language on the streets, however, may differ. The west part of Ukraine has always been known to be more nationalist and Ukranian is the spoken language over there. I myself come from Odesa - a Russian-spoken city. I'm not sure whether or not the rest of the east is Russian-spoken as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Just to add something. In the far South-West part of the country there are bulgarians and gagauz people, kara bulgarians and tatars. I know some of them, they speak old Bulgarian and also Russian. The truth is that some of my ancestors are coming from the bulgarian community in Ukraine.

Some of them are also in Odessa

@Kip: you forget also, that Ukraine is important grain producer and they are key for dominant control of Black Sea.

Oh, yea. that. I forgot. But the Russians would see this as a provocation(A military intervention by the yanks and NATO). Do those retards really want another war so badly?

But basically it's over as of now. There's an interpelation being prepared for Yanukovych, that old swindling snow tymoshenko is released from prison, every mothersnowing bigshot of the parliament is resigning.
The bandits have won. hooray for democracy! Hooray for freedom! Hooray for snowing up your country!

I would just sent the army to kill off every single mothersnowing bandit out there. Or just bomb the absolute snow out of them.

Well, since this is basically over, time to move on to Bosnia and Venezuela!

Venezeula has not been getting much media attention at all but Maduro's going down.

also the opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez is kinda cute and a very clever man
(I think I have a thing for opposition leaders in dictatorships, like except for his nationalism, I loooove Alexei Navalny in Russia)

I guess that yank puppet finally snapped out of it.

But regarding Ukraine, I don't think it's over. The bandits had done stuff against the Constitution. Changing that document I remind you is needed to host a referrendum. Basically the nation has to vote in changes. Ukraine has 45 million citizens. Why the snow can a few hundred yank funded bandits count as a majority. There are a lot of turncloaks in their parliament so it seems.

So who's undemocratic here? I say a bunch of mothersnowing bandits. But I guess klytchko is not the brightest one when it comes to the negotiation table.

I heard something scary today on the news. An "expert" talked shortly about the possibility of Russia taking over Ukraine. Sounds pretty impossible but the thought is still scary and no doubt Putin would love the idea.

Gunfred, don't be a brainwashed idiot. Putin is smarter than that. He didn't sent troops in and I doubt he will.
Annexing Ukraine would be a clear go to launch nukes at each other. And snow that, it's not useful to anyone. Well, unless the warmongering yank snows who run their country.
Syria was a failure, almost everyone gave them the finger regarding that question. So know the dumb snows desperately seek out another war. So far they have three options: Ukraine, Bosnia and Venezuela. My money's on Venezuela, 'cause the Juans there got a metric snowload of oil, and besides, worms have finished feasting on Chevez. A prime opportunity I'd say.

Besides, Europe is still somewhat dependable on Russia's gas. All Putin needs to do is to shut off the valves if the EU snows around like that anymore, blaming Russia for every single piece of crap.
