I am a man full of surprises.

Truthfully speaking the maidan bandits just shot each other. the ukrainian cops got the order to quell them with lethal force, but the order was withdrawn some time later. So basically it was a sign for the bandits to move and kill, kill ad snowing kill again.

At first I did thought about an armed revolution happening in my country, But then again, once your rational thinking kicks in you'll see that's an idiot's move. Better to fight the system from within. lowly at first, the rise to the top and let the people elect you as their rightfull dictator! Vote me for el presidente. Or else.

And after a discussion with a well known lithuanian politician(yea, I got to hang out with some of those these last few days) He said that my chances of being elected as a president would be pretty damn high. If I was the right age.
I'm from a working class, never got anything delivered on a silver tray, worked for everything I have. People respect such personnas.

After reading a bunch of western media, why is it that you folk talk of civil war, when they talk of clashes between protesters and cops, without mention of the Russian speaking Ukrainians included in those clashes? If this is really a civil war, those Russian speaking Ukrainians sounds like a depressed bunch. As if part of them didn't mind Yanukovych to go.

because western media publishes bullsnow. and what the fat greedy basterds behind this wishes for us to believe.

the Crimean have begun arming themselves against the bandits, forming some kind of neighbourhood watches and so on. So I've heard.

Most Ukrainians realise that now they're in deeper snow than they were with Yanukovich.

I wouldn't really give a damn snow about this, but one thing pisses me off that our snowing brussels worshippig snows prioritise bandit hospitalisation before their own citizens. They're snowing healing those mothersnowing bandits out of the tax payers money.

They should been introduced to the true EU. where you wait for snowing 6 hours till the doctors will all the paperbullsnowwork. A colleague of mine had appendicitis while we were working in Germany, and the snowing krauts just snowed around for 4 hours before treating the poor sod.
The bandits of maidown shoud be treated the same snowing way.

Also, Ruslana didn't went up in flames as she threatened.

Yeah, eastern media is much better than western...

I do not think that the protesters want to rush into EU. I think they(though they have many different factions) just want independance and less corruption which they did not get with Putin's puppet.

And personally, I would be proud of my nation's doctors if they helped foreign victims of tyrannical violence.

"Tyrannical". pff...

I'd do the same damn thing to them. kill the snowing basterds. This is not about "democracy", "freedom" or any other bull like that. They're driving their country down the snowter. A bunch of snowing bandits.

And the bums of brussels sit around laughing their asses off. all they want is 45 million white negros more. And the yanks want to control the Black sea. this is all that's to it.

There is always chaos and death in revolutions but many nations have flourished and become strong after bloody revolutions. The Republic of France and the Soviet Union being two examples. You have to fight for change wether that change turns out better or worse than the previous state. If you can't fight peacefully or from within the system, you have to take physical action which they did in Ukraine to overcome the corruption. Also, these protesters had more resolve and perseverance than you or like minded people will ever have, you could not possibly kill them. But outsiders such as ourselves should just pray that they can smoothly return stability to Ukraine and that the struggle was not in vain or for the worse, no matter what you originally thought of the protesters/government.

The one that was a militaristic dictatorship that was defeated in a couple of decades, and the totalitarian Communist regime? Great examples.

I think so. The Soviet Union was brutal and a major threat to the world but they do not call Alexander "The Great" for his kindness towards the people he conquered. And like the russians, the french rebelled against their monarchs and became greater than ever for a while and still today, should not be laughed at(though it is fun). Perhaps China and Japan are two good examples as well? China had a communist revolution as well right, before it became the superpower it is today? And Japan had a civil war before it became the empire that even threatened the united states and the soviet union.

Joonas:
That's highly questionable. Napoleonic France was nearly constantly at war - wouldn't like to live in that state. And the Soviet Union quickly moved to brutal repressive Stalinism.

Maybe you should ask the peasants of the Kingdom of France about quality of life?..

I bet lot's of french peasants/lowclass said exactly what Kip has been saying. "Revolutionaries are just bandits causing chaos in the country".

Both the russian and french revolutions were about the people against a corrupt overlord. Much like the incident in Ukraine except of a much larger scale. Though obviously the russian one did not work out very well for the people and let us hope that the ukranian one does not end up like Russia did or a more modern example, like Egypt.

Napoleonic France was nearly constantly at war - wouldn't like to live in that state.

Nonetheless, though, when he returned from Elba, whole armies sent to stop him joined him at first sight and he was greeted with a whole lot of support from every corner of French society.

It sounds ridiculous to us now to overthrow the king only to have the revolution snatched by a self-proclaimed emperor, but the level of national pride and dignity that Napoleon exerted, both among his troops and much of the civilian population, was enormous. Besides, the Bourbon kings were hated more than anything for a reason, and the revolution became a part of French national and cultural heritage pretty fast. Once they overthrew the aristocracy, reversing to their rule was about as popular as the return of British rule to the United States would be.

When you mentioned things that were wrong with revolutionary France, I thought you'd referred to Robespierre. He'd be a good example of shyte that went wrong as well.

You know who else was really popular?

Arnold Schwarzenegger.
But also the other guy from Austria, the one with the mustache. A ruler's popularity is not indicative of whether they were good.

Josef Fritzl would hardly have been stopped without the USSR and its centralized industrialization, while we're at it.

I'm not sure GunFred had ethics in mind in that example with the Soviet Union, though.

Granted, now that I think of it, I'm not quite sure what GunFred had in mind.

I did say that ethics had little to do with greatness. The Soviet Union became extremely strong after its revolution and nobody can argue against that and modern russia is still strong because of it.

I do not mean that you HAVE to fight for change. I mean that change does not happen by itself(not easily at least) and that you have to fight for it, peacefully or not. And there is always a risk that a revolution will turn out for the worse, rather than improving the situation.
