I may be one of the few (of my age) left without a smartphone. I'm still with a simple mobile phone, 95% of the time muted. And while I can see the benefits of a smartphone (and I'll probably end getting one), I have to admit is annoying when my friends are all the time looking at the smartphone, even when eating
Not like the future looks bright in this aspect either

the world is filled with idiots. they will do what they do.
hopefully, i get to rend them asunder in some delightfully hellish afterlife for them. not forever, though. i'd want to go get me some ass topside every now and then. and then, back down to work on the damned fools.

Never creating one, if you don't mind people asking you to do so once every few weeks is certainly an option. If you were to dele an already existing account, then it may lead to even more attention coming your way, from people who're worried and from people who're thinking you're only doing it for the attention. I like my own approach of never using it, people have me as a friend and do not expect any form of input from me. If anyone messages me, I'll eventually see it on my e-mail and they'll get a response within a few days. If it's urgent they can always text me.
