I have a bought copy of heroes 3 complete from GOG.
Installed it to E:/HoMM 3
Installed latest version of Era II, also tried different versions.
Disabled UAC, teamviewer is not installed
Nothing happens when running Era exe. And nothing in the debug/log, only shows the version of era.
Suggestions to get this running?

Please, unsure, that era.dll is in Heroes 3 directory and angel.dll is in Mods\WoG\EraPlugins directory.
If everything is ok, change properties for h3era.exe to XP SP 3 compatibility.
If it still fails to run, rename Mods\WoG\EraPlugins\game bug fixes.dll to game bug fixes.dll.off

Changed properties.
Era.dll is in Heroes 3 directory.
The angel.dll file was located in ModsWog after installation, also tried to copy it into ModsWoGEraPlugins directory.
Also renamed ModsWoGEraPluginsgame bug fixes.dll to game bug fixes.dll.off
Same issue, nothing happens when launching h3era.exe.
Tried installing HotA, worked great, just install and run.

I have also problem with era2 but Horn of the Abyss works without problems.
I tried diffrent versions etc. and all do not work for me.
can someone post a video on yt how to install it and run. meybe I am doing some simple mistake. watching movie (where it works from fresh gog install) could clear my errors.
my specifcation: win 10 home
antivirus: karspersky internet security

Just press install.exe, specify destination folder and that's all. What happened after installing?

for 2.7.3 version I get:
simply I do not have some dll files. But during install I answer all quuestions as yes.

You have pirate copy of Heroes3. Today is special price at gog.com. You can buy heroes complete for 8 zlotych or get another cracked version with all dlls inside.

I buy this copy on GOG.
but do not worry. I have also many other copy:
1. BOX h3 with dlc from cenega
2. my wife box h1-h3 from cenega
3. my wife h3 on uplay
and this copy.
(of course I have all other parts 1-8 probpably - but I love h3, like h4, others where bad or worse)
If I buy something so many times then it should at least work.
I can provide you any proof that I do not pirate such a great game.
Of course in the past I had to use crack because when I tried to play this game on "game spy arcade" first question was: "do you have crack?" . I was then thinking that it was a joke but there all people where playing with crack.
In the past I couldn't install wog (coplicated install messing with system properties) so I downloaded then copy with wog already installed.
I was just hoping that it is possible to install it in normal way.

He wasn't blaming you for pirating, just saying that pirated versions often lack dll or other core files, and that's why it doesn't work. Don't install Era over wog, just over your original game.

it is oryginal game from gog - setup_homm_3_complete_4.0_(10665).exe (proof was before)
1. I delete my previous copy with h3 and wog.
2. I install gog version
3. run h3 to check and ok.
4. install era 2.7.3
5. run era menu, exit, run era II shortcut from desktop and get errors messages with dll.
main question is:
these dll are from ERA II or from original gog?
while installing era2 there is batch files windows (command line) which is closing before I can even read it.
I want to understand reason so I can solve it sooner.

I don't remember correctly, during install game asks you to instal directX 8.0 or 9.0 drivers. I know you have newer version but you must install it. If it won't help, try this https://www.celestialheavens.com/forum/7/8031

so your method says that I should just find these dlls and it will fix my problem.
welll.... I did something similar just now.
1. I installed virtualbox with windows 7 OS and no antyvirus
2. I install my h3 version from gog (the same file you call pirate)
3. I install era 2
4. I tried to run it and I see coursor from h3 and OS freeze. But it works because show me more than on my windows 10 (there is coursor from h3! on black screen so game tried to initialized and failed propably)
Then I checked these dll and .... they were. it is crazy but I copy them from my virtualmachine to my host system, then i tried to run era 2 again.
Now I get another bug:
Still do not know why my virtualmachine is better in installing than my host machine. well.. as I see it... windows 10 is propably bad choice for this game.

all work (2.7.4) so I saw my mistakes now:
1. If you do not have dll files then you did not run game gog installer as administrator. You have to run it as administrator! if you only click yes when they ask it is not enough.
2. run the same way era 2 installator.
3. era 2 installator will have wrong path of your game directory. it looks very similar but you should check it.
Now it all works. thx for help.
(of course my story do not end, I have to install hd mod and polish translation but era 2 works so I can play at least. if I will have another problems I will just start new topic)

Please note that polish translation is for ERA 2.46 only. If you install this translation at ERA 2.7.x you'll encounter few missing strings in commander window or maybe more other bugs.

Of course. But I'm not sure if newest hd mkd releases are compatible with era 2.7.
