There's a thing called prestige... companies tried hard to establish it. It attracts best employees.
No telecommunication specialist would ever work in such ****hole. They play cheap and use students, then they see them run away, then they get new ones. Pretty pointless if you ask me, as they pretty much are doomed to use students forever with such attitude

I would be laughing if it werent so sad. Now really, if you think poland is bad, feel free to come where I live. You would be lucky to get a job at all.
To compare, a medical doctor with a specialization, say in Podiatry , ears less than 500 euro where I live.

DF, but how long had you been working there and if those kind of perks are really that important for you, then why didn't you resign earlier. IMHO everyone is the master of their life, so no reasons to complain or regret. Actually I hope you will be doing ok as I think for a clever guy it won't be difficult to find a better job even in Poland. I can say since I live in even poorer country, and I also had a possibility to go for a PhD in Math here and the conditions were even worse, which from the beginning forced me to find a job in private sector.

Well, I always thought that being just an ex-student with an empty CV is severly limiting. Most of the job offers begin with a requirement of "2 years of experience in the field". So I thought, fine - let me get those 2 years so I can at least fulfill the basic requirements.
In the end I don't have exactly 2 years (1 year and 7 months to be precise) but in CV you write down years only, so 2012-2014 seems fine.

it seems like an entry level job for your field but I assume your education at least opens up for some career progression down the line?
When I get my law degree, entry level wage is likely to be about 2800 euro which is about the average Swedish wage.

There isn't much place for progression in that field, sadly. You're a labrat OR a full-blown telecommunication scientist working for top world companies. There's nothing in between.

If it makes you feel better, your office looks to be about on-par with mine. So, living in a "rich" country doesn't necessarily determine how great your work accommodations are.

Hope you find a better job but that chair did not look that bad. Besides the chair, I do not think that severely outdated environment would have ever been tolerated on the richer side of the Baltic Sea.

Minimum wage in Pooland is 402.5 EURO.
The average pay for a regular office worker is around 430-500 EURO
However, average office worker doesn't have to do:
- field work
- conferences
- articles
- international work
- research done via European research projects
having Master's degree in technical field is also unnecessary (along with any specialistic knowledge) to work in a typical office
average office worker also gets a working PC, a normal chair, often a mobile phone and a laptop, sometimes even a car (rarely).
I got nothing, worked on prehistoriec gear, got overcharged with work and in addition I have been paid barely above minimum wage. 
I live in the same country and I know our national ability to complain.
Well, if you will seek thoroughly I am sure you will find something better. There are companies paying 4-5 times more than you have earned, just use your skills. Good luck.

Lidl is a fraud. Nescafe from England and one of juice from price tag reads clear! I am able to destroy. Buy your home products and know the names. Money is money! Zander is about 25€ in marketplace in Finland
