Balancing issue fix?

Hello again, another quick question. I'm sure the topic "balance" has been discussed, but here goes:

I was wondering if there's any decent mod that addresses the balance issues this game SUPPOSEDLY has.

I don't know the actual balance problems the game has, other than Necromancy being overpowered. I've read that Castle, Necropolis, Conflux and Fortress are overpowered, but again, I don't know the details, I just want a fix, if any exist/should exist.

So yeah, if there's any truth to some towns being OP, how do I fix it?

Thanks, have a great day!

Hi there!

For balance, there are some options:

HotA is a good option. It will balance a couple of crucial flaws like necromancy. But don't expect a complete fix.. they tend to make small changes to the original game. The necromancy percentage is cut in half, but it still can be a gamebreaker on big maps with the cloack of the undead equipped. http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes3sod/combinationartifacts.shtml

You can also try this mod: http://www.celestialheavens.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8806 I don't think it is compatible with HotA, so install it on a clean (make a copy of your heroes 3 files and place them in a different folder) heroes 3.

If you want to play heroes 3 + WoG, you can install Era and try some mods from this thread: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=39062 (for instance: the crimson tides expension does some town balancing). It will by default change the original gameplay pretty dramaticly, but you can deselect the changes you don't like.

Do you wanna play 9 absolutely equal towns? I - don't.
This "balance" is about making game for each faction absolutely identical as for others.
HOTA herecy to make necromancy weak isn't balance, but game breaking.
If you want balance, you can play something like Age Of Wonders. As I remember there were absolutely copied races distinguished only by appearance.
Heroes 3 is a game of tastes. You get your favourite faction and you play it. Maybe some small tweaks like making magogs not hurting other demons are allowed altrough.
