If someone truly wants to commit suicide, you won't be able to stop him/her. Any signs that shows otherwise ( missed suicides, talking about it but not making the move, etc etc ) is to me a sign of conflict, one that partially wants to kill himself and his other part wishing to remain alive, and that is to me a good enough base to justify help.

The way that I see it is if you are so depressed all of the time, then you're not doing something right. There is no such thing as depression. If you continuously feel down, do something different in your life because whatever you are doing just isn't working for you. Suicide is one of the most selfish things you can do in life and no matter what, there will always be somebody there to talk to about whatever problems you may be encountering in life.
I may sound like a bit of a dick but that is just the way I see that issue.If you aren't in control of your emotions then who is?
