Anyway, I disagree.
The vast majority of Heroes' players are male. I doubt female Heroes players even consist 10%. Maybe fewer. Why do I think so? Go to conventions, how many women do you see playing strategy/tactical games? Out of a hundred, you can see like what, 4 or 5? And this is just not one convention, this is many.

Research has shown that women make up majority of the mobile game players. Hence, those like what, 43% female gamers? A lot of those 43% are mobile gamers.

THE BIGGEST CRITERIA FOR PLAYERS FOR CHOOSING GAMES IS THEIR CUP OF TEA.

Women are usually attracted to games like farmville, plants vs zombies, Diner Dash or that jewel puzzle game. Heavy gamers are male.


And besides, Heroes female players are probably tomboy-ish anyway. One who's "one of the guys". So it only makes more sense to make Heroes 7 male-dominated.
Heroes 5 was male-dominated and it's one of the most successful, if not the most successful, Heroes game in the franchise. Heroes 6 was the least and it's the least successful.

Yes, it's more on because of the gameplay but I think that aura of male-camaraderie or male world helps too. I for one would refuse to buy Heroes 7 if it's creature demographic is like Heroes 6 girly girl feel. Majority of Heroes players are men and we can relate to a man's world and that's what we've been lacking in the real world nowadays because feminists make sure that every industry has to be 50% female even if the area doesn't attract women. They protest against male-only spaces but keeps pushing for female-only spaces. Hypocrisy.
For Heroes to give us what the world lacks is an awesome gift.


Anyway, those are my thoughts.

You know it must take an enormous amount of hatred and energy to be so narrow minded. Especially to get so irate by a few characters in a game.  I never realized that having a female hero would render some guys impotent with 'righteous anger'.

On topic: I'm really hoping this is not Heroes 7 yet. I've made a really great pitch to Ubisoft about a good lineup of creatures. Like you know, the creature lineup I've listed in my Heroes 7 JEmo version more or less. I love a lot of those lineups especially Stronghold, Dungeon and Academy. I also made a faction of Halflings called Mound which is composed of Gnomes, Kobolds and Leprechauns and they specialize on pranks and trickery. Would be great if they took those into consideration.

You know, the whole "I want to play someone i can relate to, a guy like myself" versus "I want to watch a nice looking woman as I play this game" debate. Stop imposing your Adonis fetish upon gamers that likes to see some heroines once in a while, and keep your fake, simulated anger for 100 % women sexist games THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY HEROES GAME WHATSOEVER IN IT. You should seriously go troll some skullgirls or Onigiri or claymore or some other women only forum instead.

I'm afraid it's quite official that it is Heroes 7. This schedule is from the Twitch official blog so it's 100% trustworthy.



So don't miss the 16th. And stay tuned on the Might and Magic site to find out what's gonna be revealed. Roughly 4 hours to go. My guess is that it's gonna be a trailer but they might as well keep that for Gamescom on the 16th.

Well it was kinda announced yday on the Gamescom2014 thread. And now it's featured in the Age of Heroes news. Just thought I should put a pic here too just in case And seems I was right.


Also, the short amount of time between the series is a reason of concern for me. I think we'll end up with a revamped version of Heroes 6 at core. I hope I'm wrong tho.

"HVI" was announced in August 2010. And its development process started in 2008. "Limbic" - who is probably the actual developer - is free of "HVI" since October 2012. So it's possible to suggest that they're working on "HVII" for approximately two years. The key point in this case is the fact of "SoD" being done by "Virtuos".

Open Dev is probably the best idea for this new Heroes 7. Tho so far it made me chose between 2 factions that I both want to be featured in the game.

Have I told you guys how happy I am for that little thing they put in there called "Tech Tree"? It seems I'll finally have my kingdom focus wish granted.

I wonder what mechanics we'll see with this iteration. I really hope to see magic reworked with guilds and all.

Also, would have preferred lineups of 4 core - 3 elite - 2 champ - 1 boss, being able to construct 3 cores, 2 elite, 1 champ and boss building unlockable with Tear of Asha building. But I guess 3-3-2 is good enough.

Too many problems needed to be solved :(

I - What are your thoughts on how the franchise has been managed so far?


II - Can you make a top of the biggest mistakes the devs have ever made (no number limit)?
***Creatures & Graphic***
- The number of creatures was reduced largely.
- Many of the creatures were too generic, from the names to their appearances. They should focus on MYTHICAL creatures, I dont want to see weird modern inventions they have made so far.
- Replace classic mythical creatures, for example, Pegasus Knight, Gremlins etc, by generic ones.
- Graphic was becoming more and more childish and colorful.
- Focused too much on graphic, which did not really matter for a strategy game like HoMM

***Town Screen***
- H6's town screens would have been great if they removed the redundant
giant forts that covered the towns.
- H6's Haven town screen looked ugly.
- Too many unnecessary details in town screens, which messed up everything.
- Silly main color theme for each faction. For example in H6, Haven creatures are bright and mostly yellow, Inferno ones are red, Dungeon ones are purple etc. This showed very superficial and limited creativity originality. This kind of graphic at first was really eye-catching, but gradually became boring.

***Gameplay***
- Oversimplified adventure maps.
- Reduced lots of adventure objects.
- Adventure maps seemed to be large but in fact, they were not deep enough for a strategy game. Just look at H3 maps.
- Oversimplified gameplay (in general)
- Reduced the number of resources.
- Not focus enough on single-play maps.
- Map editors were bad.
- Random Map Generator was either removed or bad.
- Rectangular tiles on battlefield instead of hexagonal ones.
- Spells were less varied and diverse
- Reduced number of artifacts.

***Music***
- Musics in H6 are sometimes TOO epic and miserable that made me really tired to listen to it for hours. (Musics in H3 and H4 were the best)

III - What about top best decisions (again, no number limit)?
- Racial Skills
- Alternative upgrades
- Reputation system
- Skill Wheels
- Hero's specialty.

What I'd like to point out there is how the spirit of the franchise has been managed so far, more specificaly regarding the art department. In my opinion NWC/3DO proposed, graphically speaking, truly amazing work as of the universe that the pencil suggests. When I open H2 or H3, and I am quite sure I am not the only one, I'm immediatly immerged in this pretty specific oniric aura that should have stayed imo as some special trait of the series. Ubisoft got some deserved hate from fans as they took this such unique universe that was created, and instead of trying to pursue the hard task to follow a path that has proven its glory, they simply threw it away, created Ashan and brought some generic Warcraftish environment. Then H6 came out and they just "took care" of existing problems that only needed small fixes by simply removing them. How can one not react. H7 though has great potential and looks on this matter definetely better than its two predecessors, and as naïve as it may sound I want to hope again.
