H.R. Giger
i just found out this morning that my favorite artist, H.R. Giger, died on May 12. he was 74. i had been hoping to meet him before i died; it was one of the things on my life's to-do list. now i(and the world) are only left with his work.

Oh wow I had no idea. And I was just talking about H.R. Giger to my brother this week. Damn. I loved his stuff, as weird, organic and often violently sexual as it was.
He had a very perverse brain and a brilliant way of portraying his thoughts into art.
If it wasn't for him, the Alien franchise just wouldn't have existed.

I did not recognize the name but I knew of his work. That guy had one dark and twisted mind, some incredible stuff there

His artwork was terrifying and beautiful... but they were inspired by terrible nightmares that came from a deeply troubled mind. On one hand, it's sad that he passed, but on the other... well, I wouldn't wish nightmares with things like these on anyone. Goodbye HG... rest well.

That is a pitty. I can't say he was my favourite but I have over the years been enchanted by his work to say the least.
