They are present in WoG, afair. But I think they have smaller base growth than gorgons, two instead of three, so their death gaze is a little bit less devastating

Edit: Of course in WoG their special is the same death gaze as gorgons have.

Ignatius, anyone?

Offers a chance to play Inferno differently.
First advantage: 1 more tile movement allowance on advanture map (speed 6 allows 1 more tile, speed 8 allows another tile).
Upgrade costs only 1000 Gold, no res.
Hero starts with TACTICS and Resistance, meaning, two level gains and with a bit of luck you are at Expert Tactics and can basically block every shooter with your Familiars.

I admit, I'm somewhat biassed, though

He may seem to be a commendable hero at first but that is only for a few situations. He only gets 1+ tile while using imps on the map and if he carries gogs without hero chaining them he will lose the whole speed advantage.
Imps themselves are good fodder but not as striking units and they are very vulnerable to enemy morale while clearing trash.
To get full use of him you need to upgrade the Imp Crucible and despite the cheap cost, you waste 1 day of building during week one.
While his tactic skill comes in handy with gogs (you only need basic tactics to block them during trash), resistance is rather useless unless you plan to run into a enemy hero the first week.

I used to love ignatius when I was younger. But that was only due to inexperience. These days I tend to play Calh (Extra gogs +1 speed to them does wonders in the early game or until you find a better main), Marius/Nymus and sometimes Pyre if the heroes presented are all crap.

And there is nothing wrong about being biased about a hero you love. Everyone has their own favorite hero in this game.

if I remember well, they have fire breath with death gaze, allowing them to strike two stacks with death gaze at once.

i have to disagree with u Ebonheart, ignat is better then calh most of the time its not about so much for +1 speed the 70 starting imps can make a huge differance cuz with rest of imps u can make 110+/- imps day1
any hero with offence and pretty sooon they hit for 125-250 dmg when will gogs do that dmg, not count bless(tough inferno allways build M.guild day1)
Morales effect imps/gogs the same way if u know how to use the imps there should be very small differance.
And resistance might be wasted but not as much as scouting.
And no u dont allways get a better hero for main then your starting hero so whenever that situation happens and it does soon or later u will have to play with calh scouting + archery lol i cant think of more wasted skills for inferno

But ofc. my opinion can be biased

I respect your opinion Jivko. In my book I admit Ignatius has his uses, however I always find more gogs valuable. It is true that you might be unlucky to get only junk heroes, but those occasions are rare (you can also power-boost a hero gained from a prison/W2).

Secondly you got no guarantee that you will get a power stack of imps (or gogs for that matter, it is a roll of fate) and like I stated in my previous post, enemy morale can deliver a fatal wound to your imp stack, while the gog stack is safe behind the wall imps (if the enemy even reaches the wall that is). Besides I tend to rely more on the Efreets at d3/d4 so the use of both imps and gogs diminishes once you aquire them sultans.

However this can be debated for a long time and it is only of importance if you play with selectable chars. (Most of my games are random) so you usually end up with what you get, however the names I mentioned are the ones I prefer if no other good heroes are present.

Like I said before Jivko, nothing wrong with being biased. We all love this game (accept morale RNG -.-) and we have probably seen different kinds of scenarios that makes us think and reason the way we do.

It would be helpful if recruited heroes automatically came equipped with creatures (one or two at least) conforming to their specialty.

Um no. Just no.

It would just end in a mess let alone provide a serious advantage for certain towns.

I think we need to enable Necropolis and Necromancy in their true forms. Allow all lv 1-6 creature specialists to raise their special creature and with 10% more quantity with Necromancy.

But starting with one naga or 2 geenies is not that much better than starting with 30 gremlins and 8 gargoyles. And in general, starting with 1 lvl 6 creature or 2 lvl 5 ones does not seem to be so ridiculously overpowered as Shakti's troglodytes reaching 70+ on average, just from his starting army. So the idea does not seem terribly destructive for game balance

A good point. But I reckon towns like the Inferno, Stronghold and Fortress would gain a lot by gaining 1-2x of their level 6 units.

Creature specialty is best for getting extra low level units day 1,
or for games where you know you gonna get extra amount of these creatures.
But on random maps you can't count on dwellings to give you more creatures that you want.
This leaves only 3 creatures.

While and are solid main heroes, is kinda screwed with his scouting.
