I don't get the "we need to protect the children" thing. That's also an interesting social construction in need of getting deconstructed. I talk about sex all the time with my 10 year old sister if she asks about it.

It was obviously just a figure of speech. What is innocence in that sense, anyway... Porn is porn everywhere, religious people and conservatives are not very fond of it but that's not culturally too different in the US.

it's a bull**** concept. it's meant as a naivety, only more "pure". like the virgin concept; it's more of a religious, or pious, thing. just another word that allows the pointing of fingers, for various reasons.

Hmmm I just read through the last three pages as I have been away this weekend, I find you guys discussing all manner of ... well. hmmm.
BTW - all genitals, male and female are funny and yucky looking. Not just the female. Male genitals are actually quite comical to look at and I'm not even going to discuss the hideousness of 'the scrotum'. Anything that is wrapped in what appears to be long dead old woman elbow skin is never, ever going to be attractive. Unlike boobs, which are brilliant.
But changing the subject and more importantly --- innocence and protecting children - are you guys insane. Of course we have to protect the innocence of children. Otherwise they don't have a childhood and then grow up to be seriously snowed up individuals. There is discussing sex education with a child, in a manner in which the child can grasp or there is the wildly unrealistic porn on the interwebz. Hmmm what one should we pick

lol, i was taught through porn, after my dad found out i was sexually active as a child. he did his part, he showed me where the clitoris was.

I am not suggesting to shove down porn on 5 year-olds, meroe. Basically, it's like this. I never felt the need to go out and buy porn before the internet. If I was going to jerk off, I always preferred my own imagination. Most porn uses ugly chicks anyway and before the internet, there wasn't this level of variety in torrent sites that you constantly visit, with actually attractive women such as this, only one click away:

The cultural difference would be on the scale of things, if you actually worked in porn industry. Where as a conservative father from the Bible Belt, US may say something like "you are dead to me" to his porn-star daughter, a Muslim father from a conservative Anatolian small-town may actually try to kill her for it. Or for example, I would never feel comfortable watching porn with my father but I heard some Germans actually do that, they watch porn together as father and son. Many take their sons to prostitutes on a certain age here, but even that is a dying tradition, since dating slowly becomes the norm even in smaller places now and teenagers learn by experimenting among themselves. (And of course, they have the internet, too.)
When it comes to little children, I was told by my ex-girlfriend who was a psychiatrist, that before a certain age, when children yet don't have sexual urges, they perceive the whole thing differently, like people trying to hurt each other and so on, so it's not right. I haven't researched it myself. I don't think anybody, if not a pedophile, would give porn to a very small child anyway, what would be the point of it?

i didn't take it seriously, i was continuing stevie's joke.
i took xerox seriously when talking about innocence, hence my serious response to him. notice how my more serious responses require some thought, instead of just doing the troll conga line?

i understood the *ahem* "in's and out's" of sexuality at a young age. i might have not liked how some of the genitals looked(or what was done to stimulate them), but i understood it. i remember reading somewhere that unborn children have been witnessed stimulating themselves sexually, in a couple of articles. it doesn't take a brain surgeon to understand when something feels good. kids tend to make the connection when they're being washed by their parents, as creepy as that may sound. i keep hearing stories of my young nephews having fun with their little manhoods. their parents are always talking about it and laughing.
this part of the subject might make some squeamish, but not when you understand that most kids don't have the same hang-ups as adults, when it comes to doing things to feel good. nudity is the same way.
the u.s. and their culture seem to have a huge problem with nudity; but they forget that their own children, as well as themselves, used to run around naked growing up. and why? because clothes are restricting, and it feels good to have the air on your skin. it's just very basic pleasure. adults tend to demonize things from their skewed perspective, hence all the fear and repulsion over naturally occuring behavior.
