@Kareeah
Don't worry. We inquisitors have ways of... talking to people.

@Alkar+gnomes
I have no idea what you guys are talking about. What are those numbers?

I know I use a d10, but how do I know how many hit dice I have? Is it 1/level or based on Con?

One per level, so you need to roll 6d10, because you get full dice for 1st level.

And ummm... I got an average of 7... out of 8 max.
So 50 health for my ranged inquisitor.

Keep on thinking to myself, the first number of my 6 was a 7. Then came a 1. Alright. Not too bad, I guess. Then another 1. Then another. And another! And the final roll I just decided to set it down as a 1, out of disgust.

Edit: If this character dies, and I have to enter again fresh, do you care if it is the same character concept, but different die rolls for stats?

Another edit: Does multiclassing work like D&D, where a level difference of 2 or more could cause a slowed xp gain?

Don't forget to add in your constitution modifier per level. So, 57 hp.

Your constitution is 16, so you have a modifier of +3. With that, you get +3hp per level you have.

@Alkar, remember, the lowest hp you can get on a level up is 1... But since your HP would STILL be terra-bad with that, I'm going to give you average instead. (So 5.5 per level up, the average is 43 before con). Also, yes, if you die then you get a new character with new stats, and you can keep the same concept.

@Geny, for your stats, remember, you get to bump one of them up by +1. I would recommend either strength or con, since the first will let you deal more damage with that compound bow you'll be getting () and the second for MOAR hp and a better fort save.

@Kareeah, ahhh, I see what's up here... In D&D and Pathfinder, there are different types of bonuses. Different types to the same thing will stack, but the same type from different sources will typically not stack with itself*. So if you had a Cloak of Resistance +1 (which gives you a +1 resistance bonus to your saving throws) and a Ring of Resistance +3 (again another resistance bonus to your saves), you would only have a +3 to your saves, not a +4, since the resistance bonuses will not stack. However, if the ring's type of resistance was instead from a luck bonus, then they both would stack and you would get +4.

The weapon enhancement Holy will not prevent you from getting a holy bonus to your weapon, as the two are different types. I believe the Paladin's class feature gives a holy bonus to your weapon's attack and damage, though I'll be sure to check it once I get to my computer.

As for the spell charges, the item that does not self-replenish will have more charges for you to use at once, or at least more times when you need to. This means that while yes, that wand of Shield 1/day will eventually be more effective, the wand of shield 30/ ever will still be cheeper, and you can use it more when you need it (until it runs out). Also, it's still 2.65k cheeper, so as a short-mid game item it's still the better bang for your buck when it comes to wands unless you know that your game will go on forever. Tip, this game will not be lasting too long IC time (or at least, isn't planned to), a limited-charge item should be fine.

Also, I don't think too many if your enemies will be reading your hand-written notes, so... Why that spell?

((*There are only two bonus types that will stack with themselves, and those are luck and untyped. Apparently, being lucky is awesome. ))

Alright. I'm planning feats for future. I'll plan up to level 15, just in case.

Maybe I'll even plan weapon finesse back in. Took it out, due to the horrible hp.

Also, red the paladin's ability... and I figured out what i going on here. It advances any enhancement bonuses you have on your weapon, so if you have a +3 bonus from your class and a +4 from your weapon, you can have up to a +7 enhancement bonus. The enhancement from your class, though, will be free, so you can get a really good weapon for very, very little money.

Since I'm going to be throwing my weapons away, I wouldn't mind having a way to have it come back. I was looking through the magic weapon stuff, and saw Returning. For the price modifier, it has +1. Does that mean it just adds 1 to what "+" it is? So if I have a Returning +2 item, would it cost 18000, plus base item?

To better serve the Lady of Mysteries, of course!

In seriousness, it's for binding bad guys so we can cart them off to the proper authorities without our resident Inquisitor feeling the need to do anything my Paladin would object to to keep them from escaping. We tie them up (I already have rope listed in my inven...) so they auto-fail the Reflex save, wave a note with the sigil under their noses so they read it and the snake bites them, and poof! We have a nice quiet package instead of a scheming minion of evil for the next 1d4 + 1 days.

Is there a way to sort the feats list to only the ones I can use? I keep checking useful-sounding ones only to find 'oh, you need to be an orc/goblin/half-vampire/you need about a dozen other feats to use this.'

Ah, nifty!

Edit:

Are Paladin spells more like a Sorcerer's (I pick spell X, and I will know it forever and ever and can never change it) or like a Wizard's (I pick whatever spells I think I will need for the day every day)?

@Alkar: If you have a weapon with a +2 bonus and add an enhancement with the equivalent of a +1 bonus, then yes, it costs the same as a +3 bonus. And since weapons are as expensive as butts, that does mean that the returning weapon would be 18,000 gold. >.>

@Kareeah: Paladins are like Clerics, actually. Wizards need to find and buy scrolls to learn and cast spells, clerics just know all of them already. You will pick and choose which ones to prepare after every 8-hour rest, and how many to prepare each time you do.

Spent all but 23 of the gold now. Need to select skills again, since cross-class skills don't cost double, and skim through the feats a bit more, then I should be pretty well good to go. But can't do that now.

@Kareeah: the people that made the SRD don't know what's going on with those feats. I'll recommend that you skim through the non-magic feats to find ones you like and to either pick or work towards them. Since your character is a human, you should have five feats to spend. I would recommend that you get things that allow you to move normally in your heavy armor and feats that improve initiative (such as the feats Improved Initiative and Muscle Reactions).

Are the attribute bonuses from the "temporary for 24 hours" items permanent after the 24 hours?

Also, does Pathfinder, or you, have Rapid Shot work for thrown weapons.

And back to the favored class question, I found the answer. It says even the 1st level. So, +7 skill points or hp, divided as I choose.

@Kareeah, you pray for the spells once per "day" (an hour after an 8 hour rest... So you could (theoretically) get double your "daily" spells), but you may choose from any of the spells you have on your paladin spell list each time you do so. Clerics and druids do the same thing, though they have different spell lists that they draw from. This is typically how "divine" casters work.

If you were an Arcane caster instead (like, say, a Wizard or Magus), you would only have access to spells in your "spellbook," which is basically a catalogue of spells that you find written on scrolls (and flagrantly plagiarize into your book). You would have to play for the scrolls, so you basically buy your spell list. After it's in your book, you can prepare them much like a paladin or cleric, but with study instead of prayer.

Finally there is the Spontaneous caster. The main two examples of this would be the Sorcerer and the Oracle, who both have a limited spell list (so they can only know X spells off of their available list and nothing more), but who do not have to spend any time preparing their spells. This casting type allows you to choose what to cast on the fly, with the limited options in place being meant to curb their power ever so slightly.

((There is technically another type of casting (psionics) but that boils down to spontaneous casters with a mana pool instead of spells /day.))

@Alkar: Link me to the items, because I'm not sure what you're talking about atm >.>

If it doesn't work normally in Pathfinder... It does now. Have that rapid shot.

And yaaaaay, 7 more HP!
