Vorbin and Nathaniel both know enough about dragons to identify this relatively obscure one. This is a Dragon of Creation, which typically come from a different plane (their knowledge (the planes) check gives them the native plane, and that is the Void) and which is incredibly rare outside of it. They are gentle and generous giants, doing all they can to nurture other living beings while seemingly needing nothing in return. Often mistaken for moving mountains, when a dragon of creation goes into hibernation almost nothing disturbs it from its slumber, and entire civilizations have been known to rise and fall on one's back before it rises from its dormant state and notices. Finally, you know that these dragons live by strictly consuming only plants and minerals, though even these are eaten only sparingly. They do not seem to have many dietary needs.

Nathaniel doesn't really see anything that would help against a dragon. All he manages to spot is... well... rather a lot of dragon, and nothing really to fight it with. At least, not effectively. There is a precariously balanced boulder that they could roll onto its tail to mildly annoy the great beast, but other than that the remote location left much to be desired.

Feather notices that the dragon's face had been covering the entrance to a cave tunnel, which it was much, much too large to move through if they fled into it. Though she can't see very far into the cave in the evening light, she can see that this one is an actual cave and not the mouth or nose of a dragon in disguise. This would likely be the best escape rout, since everything else on the mountain side left them particularly open to attack from a creature of this dragon's size.

Ciaran's grip holds true, and despite the angle and the gale-force winds she is able to hold onto the soft and very wet stone without fail. Slowly, her world tilted back to normal, and the winds died away completely, leaving her safe and sound in the nose of a dragon.

With a bit of a hum, the dragon closed its mouth and scratched idly at its snout, glancing around lazily. "Hmmmmmmmmm..." It grumbled, sending tremors through the rock with its deep, powerful voice. And then it blinked, as if noticing something for the first time. It touched its nose again, snarled a bit, and then sneezed rather violently. Instantly, the dust and limestone that built up the stalagmites and stalactites turned back into powder, and Ciaran would find herself flying through the air... before gently drifting down onto the dragon's claw. A voice in her head would chuckle, -Well hello there little one. It's a good thing you didn't go any farther in there, I would hate to have taken a human to the hubris.- Apparently, this is what passes for dragon humor.

Looking around a bit, the dragon spotted the rest of the party and asked Ciaran, -Oh, are these little ones with you? Oh joy, it's not often that I have visitors, and it's always nice to meet some of the people living on the planet you created...- To the party, the dragon called, -Welcome, welcome one and all! I am terribly sorry for being asleep for so long, and while I haven't been the perfect host, I hope you've found everything to your liking so far...?- The question sounded halfway hopeful, and halfway a statement of fact.

There is one last thing that you notice about this dragon... when you look at it, you feel calmer, almost peaceful, and any sense of danger or fear seems to melt away... it's almost more comforting that the dragon is here than anything, and a compulsion worms its way into your head, trying to tell you that there is no reason to raise any of your weapons against this reptilian giant.

((Will saves all, otherwise you cannot attack or otherwise make hostile actions towards this dragon... which is proooobably a good thing, considering. ))

((You assume too much, gnomes. I never said anything about fighting! A route for Ciaran to climb down would be more in line. Not that it makes a difference with that lousy roll.))

((Will save = 30))

Nathanial bowed; he was a little taken aback by the creature's cheerful greeting, but that was no reason to be rude.

"Hail, and well met! It is an honor to meet you," he greeted in turn. Mystra directed him to the most interesting  missions. How many people could truthfully state they'd met a Creation Dragon?

Ciaran stood up straight on the giant claw of the beast. Her berserker rage vanished as she found the mountain speaking to her. "As little as I may be, I was the second tallest in a family of seven." She said proudly, forgetting herself for a moment.

gathering herself she mustered a reply she considered worthy of this being: "I appreciate that thou havenst pancaked me, howeverst. This one wouldst be most grateful, if allowedst to rejoin her friends. Well they mightst be friends, but they're more like hanger-ons, if thou be catching my drift- eth." Ciaran said, trying to sound as dignified as possible. She finished with a bow and a flourish, waiting for a response.

She could use a drink and she felt tired for a little bit. ((One round of rage expended))

Feather was glad to see that the dragon had saved Ciaran. The telepathic communication felt a little strange, but that feeling faded fast. She looked up to the creature and waved. "Hi."

Vorbrin raised his hand to facepalm when he heard Ciaran changing her manner of speech, but stopped just in time. I must have hit my head harder than I though, trying to perform such a foolish gesture, he thought to himself. Then he spoke to Nathaniel and Feather in a low voice.

"Be on your guard, but do not take any hostile action. From what I know this dragon is not interested in harming us." He looked at the dragon and raised his voice, "Good morning to you. I hope you had a good sleep. Could you possibly answer a question of mine? We seem to have gotten a little... misplaced. Could you tell us where exactly are we?"

Feather scratched at her chin after Vorbrin mentioned that this dragon should have no interest in harming them. More to herself than to anyone else she starts talking her thoughts, "I wonder if it meant no harm to those others that got trapped in its nose. The ones we got that scroll from. Maybe they just got trapped by really sticky snot, but maybe not. We didn't, but maybe we were lucky."

The dragon chuckled at Ciaran's performance, shaking its head slightly as it lowered the claw with the farm gal next to her companions. To Nathaniel, the dragon said, -Oh no, I assure you, the pleasure is mine, Paladin of Mystra. Though I must say, you have some... interesting companions. A Paladin of Grumbar and a Paladin of Tymora do not often travel with those of other faiths, if I remember my younger gods correctly.- The dragon mumbled, nodding to Vorbin and Feather respectively. -And a... er... non-paladin? Of... er...- It asked, after looking Ciaran over thoroughly. -... I get the feeling that I might have assumed too much. But why would a paladin travel with non-paladin companions? Hmmmm...-

When Vorbrin asked his question, the dragon sat up, more than a bit of pride in its tone and manner when it said,  -Why, on this world that I created! ... Or... well, I might have had some help, but I made most of it! ... well, closer to roughly half of it... It's a world that I helped to create. So that means I can...- That's when the dragon stopped itself, blinking and staring at the party, each in turn. -... There is something... different about each of you. Tell me little ones, what plane are you from?-

((Yes Kareeah, the claw is close enough for you to Detect Evil on. Also, yes, the dragon did roll high enough to ID Kareeah's divine class, but not anyone else's.))

"Headless...Headless! I suppose they did get stuck in there, after being killed. That would explain it. Anyway," Feather continues, now more focused on the dragon, "I am no paladin. 'Of Tymora' could certainly be used to describe me, but not paladin. Not that being a paladin is a bad thing, but... Well, what would a big powerful dragon such as yourself say about getting us all back to our home plane? You do have it within your abundance of abilities, I'm sure. Would you mind? It would please me greatly." She smiles up to the dragon.

Oh no no no, that would be far beyond my... well, a plane that could house a single world would be far beyond my capabilities. Small demi-planes are easy. But no, when I was talking about the world, I just meant the planet that we are standing on. Which I made half of. Because I am wonderful.- The dragon says, once again drawing up in a somewhat boastful manner and placing a claw on his chest. [

i]-And could you be a little more specific? I mean, even the astral plane has trees and... Oh dear, do not worry little one, I will do what is in my power to assist you.- The dragon said, suddenly changing to talk with Feather instead of Ciaran, as Feather was giving off something more... well, charming would be the politically correct way of putting it. -But first I need to know what I can do, which is easier to know if I have the name of where you came from...-

The dragons blinks at that, opens his mouth to say something, shifts around a bit instead and looks around for a little while before looking back to Feather. And then he very simply asked, -Well how the nine hells did you get in here then? The Void was cut off from your plane centuries ago, and as far as I am aware, none of the factions have been able to re-open any of them... Well, none of them have been allowed to re-open them...-

-Though that does explain why you lack an aligned aura. Which... might be more of a problem in the future. I should probably do something about that, yes, yes...- The dragon mentally mumbles, more to itself than any of you. -Regardless, I am sorry, but I am currently unable to go to the material... the Void Prince has placed a sanction on it to protect it from further attacks from Oblivion. You would need his permission or the Mother's blessing to escape at the current time. I mean, you could wait for a few thousand years for the Material to have been fully recovered...- Noting the likely incredulous looks on your faces, the dragon cleared his throat and added, -... Though on further reflection, I seem to recall that mortals are rather... well... mortal, and that they do not live quite that long. Hells, even dragon's don't live... Even... Oh. Right.- The dragon coughed again, covering his mouth with an arm and a claw. This time sounded a bit more... wet. In the painful manner. Taking away the claw, and trying (unsuccessfully) to hide that it was coated in a thin red layer, the dragon gave the party a tired, weak smile.

-Well... isn't this awkward? Seems I don't have as much time as I thought I would to... well, a few million years was long enough, I suppose... But I do still want to help all of you. So, come here.-  The dragon said, gesturing with a claw... before realizing that to do so, all of you would have to grow claws and fly. -On second thought... just stay there. I should be able to do it from a range...- And with that, you all hear a little bit of mumbling starting up as the dragon closes his eyes.

Nathaniel would be able to identify that the dragon was channeling raw divine energies and giving shape to them in... well, both Nathaniel and Vorbrin would be able to see that it was shaped for their bodies, and would know that the magic was meant to identify and protect the creature it was attached to. After a few moments, the shells disappeared and faded to cling on the dragon's claws in a dull golden aura, ready to attach to their intended hosts like a nice new suit. The dragon lowered his claws down to the party, holding them carefully just above the ground and whispering, "Alright... that should do it. Just reach out and touch me, and receive Creation's blessing."

The dragon seems to have a slightly ulterior motive to getting you to accept this blessing... but as for what it is, that is unknown.

Vorbrin watched the dragon carefully throughout the ritual. When it was over, he already reached a decision.

"Do it, everyone. The dragon's magic will protect us."

He reached out for the auras, making a mental note to find out why the dragon is helping them later on.

((I take it I can't use Heal for that then?))

"As you wish." Seeing as the dragon's spell didn't seem to be harmful (and he had, after all, been ordered) he reached out to touch it. He did wonder, however, if the slightly-too-interested look the enormous dragon was giving them had anything to do with whatever it hadn't had enough time to do. He would have been surprised if the creature hadn't had its own reasons to help them: it was, after all, a dragon, and what dragon didn't? But Mystra had guided him here and even saw fit to show him the nature of the spell he was accepting, which suggested she wanted him to do this.

As the party touched the dragon, their auras slowly began to flow onto their skin, clinging and tingling as they moved up. He nodded to Vorbrin in thanks, and gave a small smile to everyone else before looking at Ciaran and answering, "-Well, yes, it's the same blessing, but it's personalized for each of you so that you can have it changed or removed later... it won't do you much good once you return to the material, after all. As for why I made it changeable... despite my hope that you stay in the Zones of Creation enough that you gain the full benefit of my blessing, I realize that you might find different causes or allies to work with, or you may need different blessings for a different area, where being labeled as a Soldier of Creation would be... less than optimal. However... it should help you here...-" After finishing that last word, the dragon's wheezing breath became a ragged cough once again, and one of his claws fell to the mountain side, digging into the earth deeply.

As the dragon spoke and while he was trying to cough up a lung, the party would feel the aura engulf them completely, filling them with warmth and a sense of strength and safety. As well, Vorbrin would feel the pressure in his head starting to fade as the aura began to sink into his body, fusing with his natural spirit and promoting the healing properties that his mortal body already had. In a minute, the blessing had become only a thin golden outline around all of them, barely noticeable beyond the feeling of power that still lingered after it was gone.

By then, the dragon was able to talk again. "... Your blessing... will protect and empower you while you are in an area controlled by Creation. Which should be the good majority of... this... Oh. But that isn't good." He looked towards the south, as if just feeling something. "... that is not good at all... something else is changing the weather. Doesn't feel all that friendly either... I should probably take care of that... but before I go, I have a favor to ask of you." The dragon said, starting to push himself up from the ground.

Vorbrin, Ciaran and Feather would notice that a much smaller draconic head was peeking out of the cave of the mountain peak... though this one had no features on it, and looked more like the shadow, or rather, the absence of a dragon then a dragon in and of itself. The dragon of creation before you doesn't seem all that concerned with it being there.

((Not going to make DG, Geny or Alkar roll perception on the mini dragon, your bonuses are higher than it can roll on a stealth check anyway. As for the auras, you now have the Blessing of Creation! Go ahead and mark this on your character sheets. Check the OOC for how these work.))
