Vorbrin looked with approval as one of the void walkers lost consciousness and collapsed on the ground.
"Well done, brother Nathaniel. Well, friend, I have good news and bad news. The good news are that I will be able continue my interrogations. The bad news are that I have no more need for you.So, fall down and await your demise, would you kindly."
((Using the command spell to make the remaining void walker fall on the ground on his turn. If successful, I complete my turn by circling around him to flank him from below and draw my hammer.))

With a quick glance back, Feather noticed that the humanoid had been quickly dealt with. She took a step or so back, calling back her starknife, and drew another dart. Not looking forward to taking another hit, she let her weapons fly.

The magic seems to wrap around the void walker for a second, trying to wrap around the outsider's mind for just a second. However, the magic seems to melt and almost shatter as the void walker looks directly at Vorbrin and almost laughs. Almost. However, it seems to be a little more angry at the moment, and takes a step to the side to escape the flank. Sweeping its katana twice, the void walker dealt a nasty blow along Vorbrin's chest and a second, less damaging one across his face. ((29 damage... dat crit  ))
The hound in front of Feather takes both hits with a pained yelp, and gives Feather a baleful glare... but instead of pressing the attack, the creature ran away from the two instead. Feather would notice that it was leaving a trail of blood from a large gouge in its side that she didn't recall making, and that the light seemed to be wrapping around the six-legged creature as it rounded the corner. ((Fled))

Lowering her hands, Feather looked around for any more possible threats to their immediate area. In doing so, she also walked around a little, slowly collecting her weapons from the floor.
"That six-legged thing had a wound that I didn't place. We may have something else around here."

Seeing the Exquisitor so grievously hurt, Nathanial moved to keep his opponent at a disadvantage and struck with lethal force.
((Taking my five-foot-step and then attacking. Rolled 20 on the first strike (14 damage) and 18 on the second strike (10 damage). All on the roll20 site.))

Well those hits land and stagger the void walker quite a bit, leaving it weakened but still standing. With a snarl the void walker reset its feet, glancing between Vorbrin and Nathanial with its blade held low.
Feather notices the sounds of combat coming from the place that she and Ciaran had left Nathanial and Vorbrin, perhaps their companions weren't having a good day either?

Vorbrin steadied himself after the attack. Then Nathaniel witnessed something he had not expected: the self composed exquisitor shouted with rage. His voice echoed from the mask on his face which gave the shout an almost monstrous infliction. His hammer glowed the same red his bow did before and he swung it wildly at the void walker. The force of the swing made the dwarf lose balance and he used the momentum to run forward and take cover behind his Paladin companion.
((attack = 14, I forgot to add +2 for bane in the initial roll... unless I wasn't flanking him after all. Then it's 12.
Damage = 12.))

The void walker blinked at the dwarf's reaction, focusing on Vorbrin just long enough to ward away the exquisitor's deadly glowing mace. Watching its quarry getting away scott-free, the void walker hissed in annoyance once more, voice snapping like the frost in winter as its blade sliced twice more into the paladin, making bloody slices in Nathanial's thigh and forearm. ((21 damage because the dice hate you apparently))
Standing beside the fire, Vorbrin would feel the heat radiating into the links of his armor, already making them a scalding source of pain against his skin. Finally, his eyes and mouth both felt like they had been forced open and dried in the desert for a few hours, and he can feel the hairs of his beard starting to curl. Leaving this spot as quickly as possible would be a wise course of action. ((No damage just yet, but Vorbrin's attack rolls will have a -2 penalty to them until he manages to move away))

Ciaran, as fast as she can, she takes of her leathers and heat protection ((OOC: as much as one berserker move action will allow)) and tosses them towards Feather. "You go, I'll stay back and look for anything remaining behind. You go and help the others. I think it's best we got out here asap." she was saying, all fast and jumbled. After she did this she turned her back to Ciaran and the fiery passageway, looking for any other creature lurking around.

Nathanial swung again, scoring a hit, but his injuries coupled with his foe's agility caused his sword to skim harmlessly over the voidwalker's head on the second swing.
((It's got 3 HP left Geny!))

The heat and sweat took Vorbrin's mind of the fight for just enough time to snap him out of his rage. He put away his hammer and took out his bow again. The bow was still glowing with vengeance. He drew the string, took his time to aim and finally released the arrow from behind Nathaniel's back.

The arrow flies straight and true, right through the void walker's chest. While this would have normally been enough to drop the outsider and leave it dying on the floor, the vengeful energies crackling throughout the ammunition seems to explode on impact, ripping apart the void walker from the inside. The spray of blood caused by its chest cavity bursting stains Nathanial's armor and face (drying there almost instantly) and leaves the outsider to fall to the ground limply, instantly slain.
Unfortunately for Vorbrin, he strayed next to the fire for just barely too long and his armor begins to scald and brand his skin, creating blisters and searing into his skin. As well, it hacked at his dwarven pride by igniting the ends of his beard. ((5 damage, and Vorbrin is currently on fire... putting this out is a good idea))

Vorbrin moved quickly to the pot filled with water he set aside before this all began and poured it all over himself. He put it down panting heavily, his hands still resting on the sides of the pot.
"Well... this at least came handy." His voice sounded calmed, if winded, and his face was hidden behind his mask, but his clutched fingers revealed to all who would look what an ordeal he just passed.

Feather opened her mouth to start an argument that Ciaran would reach them quicker, but decided that would take too much time. She turn and ran for the others, arriving to the scene as the void walker finishes its collapse. She slowly moves along to the other two, trying to gauge just how bad they were hurt. They surely didn't look too great.
"Um, are you..?"

Nathanial limped over to Vorbrin, quite literally; his injured thigh exacerbating his bad hip. To Feather he replied:
"We were attacked while you were away, as you can see. A moment, if you please, friend Feather; the Exquisitor has been injured," the splattered and dried voidwalker blood decorating his armor may have disguised his own oozing injuries, but Nathanial's heavy breathing and worn-sounding voice definitely revealed he wasn't much better off than the dwarf "and you would do me a kindness if you would bind yon voidwalker—I believe it survived my blow to its head, and the Equisitor would like to question it later."
((Lay on Hands x2 for Vorbrin: 12 and 9, for a total of 21 bringing Vorbrin and Nathanial both up to 28 after the Reward of Life bonus. Want a couple more Geny? I still have 4 more uses of Lay on Hands for the day.))

After bravely standing guard and meticulously achieving nothing for a minute she had confirmed there was no immediate threat approaching this side, so Ciaran shouted back. "Are you guys all right in there? Need any help?"

Feather started tying the void walker up, as requested. She watched Nathanial deal with the injuries they had sustained, feeling a little regret at suggesting the party split up. The second inferno wasn't even very close to their path. Not close enough anyway. Upon hearing Ciaran's question she called back, "Pretty beat up, but they're alive! I might need help moving this guy they seem to have knocked out into a more friendly location!"

Ciaran walked, if the path seemed safe. She walked in a very fast maner. This manner may even have been called sprinting. She was sprinting in some fashion with a certain n look on her face that may be described as mirthful. However, it may be described as such, she was actually wearing a stupid grin on her face. "I can help she shouted." as she arrived. "Erm, is everyone all right? Boss? Nathaniel?" she asked were she to arrive without being horribly burned. She seemed kind of relieved when everyone seemed very not dead and walking. that stupid smirk didn't fade in the least through all this.
"Aight, I'll load up just as soon as we're ready."

Vorbrin straightened up and looked at Feather binding the other voidwalker, "and thank you for providing me with this vessel of information. I am itching to question him right now, but I fear there may be more of his friends around."

Finished with the binding, Feather took a step back and looked around. She ended up looking in the general direction of the giant fire first, and all she saw for a bit afterwards was affected by her doing so.
"Ugh. That wasn't smart... Well, I don't think we should stick around here. Not with these blasted fires. Sure, they might make great campfires. However, I don't want to test if there are any drawbacks for using them as so."
