A Moral Dilemna

As I eagerly wait for my local game store to open up(to purchase HOMM4) a question comes to mind, now certainly I do not by any means wish to incite anyone, but:
As I played HOMM3 which I loved, I always found it difficult to play the Inferno town because of the Devils(they are just so evil)...I just had a terrible feeling trying to win the game using devils, so I would always avoid using those towns. If I would conquer them I would leave them empty...I don't have issues with defeating them, just using them to win the game or a battle...does anyone else have similar or different opinion.
And for any Moderators of this, if is the wrong forum I apologize, this is just a question I have always wondered about:-)

lol...you are having moral issues by using the devils and the rest of the evil ones...
Kinda funny, I have never thought about it that way,
maybe because I am the devil...lol
Anyway I can't say that I have moral issues about winning no matter what monsters I do have in my army.
The only things is that some monsters I did not like.
Not because they were bad, or evil, just because I didn't like the sight of them...kinda childish I know.
But I prefer to use units which looks nice.... not nice as in kind, but I don't think I ever are gonna use the venom spawn or whatever it's called. The same for wyerns in Homm III, I didn't like them and even though I could buy a lot of them when I needed too, I would not use them more than I had too. I just didn't like them at all...

I had a similar problem in the MM games

I just didn't have the heart to cast Armageddon when I had to! Poor innocent peasants, I thought. In time I got used to the game and to the fact it IS a game and I'm not really hurting anyone who can't regenerate, so I did what I had to. However, casting Arma was never one of the thing I would do easily.

really?? In Homm II my favourite thing to do was to have an army consisting of black dragons only and the armageddons spell all the way

She talked about armageddon in might and Magic not Heros. In MM it damages everyone in that outdoors area including you. And exept for some lifeless places everywhere there are also a lot of peasants who are so weak that they of course die. But if I remember correctly it was a dark magic spell (at least in mm 6 and 7) so it must be evil.
Oh, and to stay on-topic I never had such moral Dilemmas, it`s a game after all.

interesting... I mean, I'm a real pansy in real life.  I don't like killing ANTS, much less anything the rest of the world likes.  I get MAD when the wife kills a spider.  I mean, I'm a real nerd here.  But in games, you can leave that all behind!  I LOVED to cast armageddon in MM6, and even more so in 7 because then the town's guards would try to fight me.  I played through on evil in MM7, and it was so fun to just kill every peasant / guard that I found.  Sometimes I'd berserk a guard just to watch him attack other guards and get killed!  And berserking peasants was great fun, they'd attack a guard and die a very quick death...

Point is, it's a GAME!  Enjoy doing things you would never dream of doing in real life!  I love playing evil because I'm so morally pathetic that I feel sick just thinking about doing something truly bad.  I like to slaughter peasants even when they offer to join me, just to laugh as those pathetic little fat men get clobbered to death by my dragons/devils/etc.  Devils are great fun in 3 (haven't gotten that town yet in 4), they teleport and look mean and in the campaigns that xeron (or whatever his name was) guy was so f***ing mean, it was fun to BE him for a brief moment.

The creatures are just "tools", neither "good" nor "evil".  It all depends on the user of the "tools"; if he or she thinks that he/she is putting it to "good" use, then they are "good" (regardless of what the rest of the world thinks).

lol this is exactly why i barely ever choose Death (Necropolis) in Heroes4... ironically tho, not because of the devils as much as the skeletons and the rest of the undead... tho in h3 i didnt choose the inferno that much either lol
