I think border control (except maybe controlling for crime) is anti-immigrant everywhere on Earth.

That's a very misguided oversimplification. Basically you equal uncontrolled flow of immigration to immigration itself and labeling anybody who supports any sort of regulation (with possible motives other than being against the immigrants themselves categorically, since cities are limited in capacity to handle labor distribution, traffic, infrastructure, crime etc etc) an anti-immigrant. And the funny thing is, just the other day, you were complaining about beggar immigrants who do nothing. Besides, how you generalize something this dependant on the conditions is beyond me. We have Syria and Iraq as part of our borders, constant war zones with a hundred kinds of group of militants and radicals of all sort. Should we wide open the gates, too?

That'd be great, but it's unrealistic.

I call anyone who supports restrictions on immigration instead of successively loosening them up an anti-immigrant. There are different degrees of being anti-immigrant, and the motive is not necessarily racist.

Actually, bad for the immigrants also in the long term. The immigrants are trying to move over and settle into a stable, functioning society, (especially if they are refugees) and if you execute your highly intelligent and sophisticated master plan of removing all border restrictions at once, no place has the chance to become that. On the contrary, everywhere turns into what they are escaping from; chaos and poverty. You've just left them with no place to run, congrats.

So you think any sort of controlling the borders is anti-immigrant because you can DREAM about successfully loosening them up, although even you realize it's unrealistic.

The border fiasco and all the anti-enforcement stances are little critical-thinking and lots of emotion. This country was built on "legal immigration and naturalization" since day one and for the better part a fair country emerged out of the chaos of many other places.

Controlling borders is not anti-immigration, America was built on people making a new start here under an effective border control.

What most outsiders fail to understand is that giving people stuff is not a problem for many Americans. (we're a most generous nation compared to ?) Its that those here can't get the same damnit benefits that are tossed around like candy and they've been participating in the very system that has this Jekyll and Hyde approach.

There are other issues to consider too. I just read in the U.K. services get used up and everyone suffers because currently, the herd hears something and heads there. Control can also be understood as... planning.

no matter who gets elected, the future for american's going to be far worse than it was under obama, and most likely as bad or worse than it was under bush jr.

i'm really not looking forward to the next era under whoever. we have snow for candidates. you would think the american people would produce someone better for the face of our country, to be the next multi-national whipping boy/agenda upholding puppet. but it's a real circus now. one where the music is off-key and frightening.

whoever wins next, is going to make the u.s. very sorry. we're looking at another bush jr., and whoever wins is going to screw over americans big time; either by a horrible national policy, or by a horrible foreign policy. we're not winning either way. that's the way i see the agenda turning.

i don't think the states will last through another presidency; i really don't. i don't see how we have any hope. with bush jr, warmongering was the agenda. with obama, inaction was the agenda, in order to show that public that warmongering is the ONLY agenda. that's what they've centered in american's minds through media: that isis rose because of inactivity, when it was actually the warmongering that caused it in the first place.

they've got americans(and more than that, other nations) eating out of their hands now. that's how people like trump are even a choice. bush jr. was just a mistake in perception. this time, it's intentional. everyone knows trump's an asshat, but because he is a WARMONGERING asshat, it is ok, yet again.

They're different from Europe. Republicans are not like Euro Conservatives, nor Democrats like Euro Liberals. Not that it really matters.

I have always followed USA politics to some extent, watched debates etc. But this year I have read tons of articles on various news outlets... and it is insane how divided country you have? Like sure we have differing opinions between the parties but the amount of slander you are allowed to throw at each other? It has been bewildering.

Edit: I used a completely wrong word lol. Excuse my english

@ minion: it just gets worse every year. it's a distraction from the real issues, just like anything else that comes out of a politician's mouth.

what gets me, is that nobody makes the connection that the "slander" is most likely all true; meaning, no one is worth voting for, you morons.

i get the impression, that politics is devolving into more and more of a debacle, to discourage people from really paying attention(at least, if they have any sense. the dumbasses are going to eat that snow up like they do with celebrity gossip. and they're going to be the braindead snowwits voting).

i also get the impression, that the united states is a burning ship, and everyone wants to play captain while they still can; before everyone drowns.

It's the same in Romania with the two current big parties. Is there a place on Earth where politics are nothing like that ? Excluding dictatorship

The democrat nominee for president will be Hillary because the Obama administration justice department is unlikely to prosecute her for her crimes.

The Republican nominee I think will be Trump, Cruz, or Rubio.

In most polls the major Republican candidates are beating Hillary.

I think this latest terrorist attack on the US will hurt Hillary even more and another will certainly be a nail in her political coffin. The democrat party refuses to use the term "radical Islam" or "Islamic terror." Anyone who refuses to name the threat before us is unfit to lead us.

I don't care what anyone else thinks, America is still the best "major country" I can think of, from the 19th century to the present.

All have their problems and have caused problems, I don't deny that, but to me you're still the best, despite the crisis in the Middle East and that's saying something.

And I don't always agree with Americans on everything, Republicans or Libertarians, and even less with current Democrats, but your system is still better than the EU can ever hope to be, for me.
