We should do away with the whole "elect a king" thing and make the congress take us back to a functioning Republic.

In the 21st century, isn't it time to do away with single-rulers?

i'd give this a +1, but nothing would change, really(because the corporations, greed heads, and the mob run everything, after all). we'd collapse just as easily as when the next bozo gets into office. or maybe not.

snow it, +1. make it happen, america. i'd like to see what happens in a society without a ruler.

society is kind of built on that principle, so... anarchy? why not. we could weed out all the non-hackers. cut down on the traffic and pollution a little bit. after we put out the fires, anyway.

The president isn't supposed to have powers really. If you read the Constitution he can veto bills, once Congress declares war he is in charge, I don't even remember any other significant explicit powers.

The problem is the executive order. The Constitution isn't very clear on what an executive order is but the presidents in the 18th century issued like three or four of them, there was one president who never issued one. By the late 19th century presidents would issue like 15. It has ramped up exponentially and Obama issued over a thousand. He issues an executive order almost every day.

Patriotism is the religion. The, America is the best nation on the planet and can do no wrong, attitude poisons a large part of society unfortunately. It is one of the reasons nothing changes, after all, how can you build upon "perfection".

The FBI directer James Comey reports to the DNI - Director of National intelligence.

I pray one of these agencies does the right thing. Lets give full honor to those with integrity within the following:

Air Force Intelligence
Army Intelligence
Central Intelligence Agency
Coast Guard Intelligence
Defense Intelligence Agency
Department of Energy
Department of Homeland Security
Department of State
Department of the Treasury
Drug Enforcement Administration
Federal Bureau of Investigation
Marine Corps Intelligence
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
National Reconnaissance Office
National Security Agency
Navy Intelligence

Hillary Clinton lied under oath as we ALL know.
The FBI says her LAPTOP and thumbdrive with archives of pretty much most of whats deleted are lost
The alleged "one device" which is actually 13 devices are misplaced or cannot be found either
Let's not forget about *Bryan Pagliano, her "IT Staffer" plead the 5th 125 times

We should all see very well by now the list of exposed scandal with Hillary the DNC etc is so large that details are forgotten quite often.

This serious crime has reminded me of an elite gang. If anyone goes down - all go down. So everyone has each other's backside. Pitiful.

It's "in the Country's best interest" to not have the Government jailed. The usual twisted logic.

Do you recall when UK discussed Trump ban from the country, because of his "migrants wall"?

Next step: make a moat.

But I don't get it, why would they need a wall? They are on an island, they can just block such people that go by the train that goes underground and stop them at the docks, anyway.

The link says they considered not letting Trump in because some of his arguments were arguably "hate speech," not because he wanted to build a wall.

It's harder to patrol coast lines, I remember Italy was in trouble once and they even threatened to throw the country out of Schengen because too many fugitives were using its so many coasts as a way to illegally enter Europe.

Yes, calling for a ban on a whole community based on ethnicity/religion can be interpreted as discrimination. And while he was talking about the Mexicans and the wall, he didnt only mention they were illegal, he generalized the newcomers as rapists and drug addicts. You pick one addditionaly informative sentence from the article but the introduction specifies the motive as hate speech not construction of a wall.

Well, for one being suddenly so picky about a half joke of my part (of course the wall IS part of the UK unrest), deal with your own biased interpretation, as Trump's proper words were:

“When do we beat Mexico at the border? They’re laughing at us, at our stupidity. […] When Mexico sends its people they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you; they’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people. But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting.”

I just don't get the whole tolerating illegal immigrants thing. Apply the same logic to any other crime. 'Oh yeah, I stole the car, but that was a while ago and now my son uses it so he should have amnesty on the car - he needs it to drive to work.' WTF? I understand wanting to allow more people in from the third world, but why like this? Why don't we just up immigration limits from all relatively impoverished countries (not just the one we incidentally border). That way we can control who gets in: no criminals, more educated people, and people who want to assimilate to american culture (which includes, for example, women's rights and not beheading gays *cough* *cough*). Give me one reason we should give amnesty to someone who came here illegally and not Doomforge.

I think the thought process may be very simple.

1) Who immigrates illegally to begin with? The majority are most likely from countries that are considered worse than the country they immigrate to, well at least from the perspective of the receiving country.

2) If a person is in a country where you consider perhaps X% may suffer from day to day, it doesn't make you able to pinpoint that "this fellow" should totally come to your own country and be well off, perhaps you choose someone who doesn't want to.. who would you be to interfere like that, especially if your help isn't even called for.

3) When a person then arrives in your country and if we assume the circumstances above are valid, or any other circumstances that would make sending them back inhumane, you get a situation where sending them back would perhaps be worse than letting them stay.

I'm btw. not mixing refugees and immigrants here, just to clear that out, it's just my impression that the illegal immigration talks has increased a lot after the large increase in refugees.

Also I'd not be surprised if a big part of the population of some countries aren't finding their own country's restriction on immigration too harsh, just to e.g. note the example in the post above. When everyone then get dumped in the category illegal immigrant, it can become difficult to figure out what is what.

Also I don't really like the whole idea of borders and arbitrary land masses that can or can't be traveled no matter if someone actually lives there, but that's a more personal opinion of mine.

I'm not saying kidnap those with an education, all I'm saying is prioritize people who have something to offer this country.

Well it would be great to bring all of the third world people here at once and give everyone an American standard of living, but we don't have the infrastructure. We should have some population cap. Personally I'd be ok if the pop cap of america was 200 million but I think a billion would probably be a more popular number. Either way we have finite room and resources here and if we just open our borders I expect that we will end up not too different from, say, Rio De Janeiro. Another thing that no one wants to admit is as the ratio of particularly useful people to minimum wage workers falls the standard of living falls. As I've said before if everyone had a minimum wage skill level and mentality we'd have medieval standards of living.

Maybe a bit, certainly in Europe, but it's not statistically big... yet.

Well it's pretty simple. If you are here without any sort of legal status (including refugee, visa, green card, etc) then you are an illegal.

I used to not either but then I realized that the whole world can't be saved and it is arguably better to save some areas and people than to try to save everyone. Any country without population limits is going to be snowed in 100 years I think.
