so, trump apparently said that the u.s. doesn't need any more muslims.

one of two things are going to happen, here:

1. trump just lost his candicacy due to that statement, because most americans aren't dumbasses who think they can exclude a religion from the u.s.

hillary wins, and the u.s. goes into the snowter with everything that she represents.

2. trump wins because americans are terrified dumbasses who believe all fear-mongering media, and the world view of the u.s. goes further into the snowter than ever before; worse than it was with bush jr.

america suffers far worse than it ever did with even bush jr.

either way, the u.s. is screwed. not that it matters much, because once the middle east heats up good between russia/middle east/europe/u.s., we're all going to hell anyway.

the primitive tribals survive just like they have for thousands of years. that's my prediction.

I read that back in the day, both parties had conservative, progressive, moderate, liberal, hawkish, dovish etc. wings. No longer it seems.

Trump is literally, without melodrama, venturing into Mussolini territory, and a large number of people are backing him up. He actually wants to bar all Muslims from entry for a time. He's endorsing state-level discrimination.

The rise of far rightist ideals like this in the wake of recent years is very worrisome. The other Republican candidates are scrambling to dethrone him, but a lot of people right are lapping it up. If the GOP doesn't get a saner candidate like Rubio to survive primaries, they're going to lose a lot of credit.

A world with Putin and Trump as heads of state is not going to be a safe place to live in. One is American. The other is Russian. They would both claim to have nothing in common with each other, but they're like ideological brothers. I hope Trump's recent statements are finally enough to make some of his supporter's break rank.

Apparently the entire Republican side is condemning Trump. His candidacy is like a horrible Nightmare that you just wait to stop, but no, it keeps getting worse. However the GOP won't let him be the nominee, I am quite sure about that. But him having some 30% support is a huge problem... could tear the party apart.

Lindsey Graham: "Trump Is A Race Baiting Xenophobic Religious Bigot, He Doesn't Represent My Party"

That is finally proper condemning of his attitude and rhetoric. It took a while but finally it is happening.

I wonder how come Putin and Trump's names are now associated, there is nothing they have in common, except hair color maybe.

Then isn't Trump only putting words on the politics America practiced the last decades in the middle east, more or less explicit?

Trump is winning a lot of vote with his new approach ; telling the truth. He recently said at a republican Jewish rally that Israel doesn't really want to negociate with Palestinians.

I love that kind of talk lol!

Heck, I would vote for Trump if I was American. Not because I agree with his policies, but maybe other politicians after him would follow suit and speak plainly to gain votes, which would force future politicians to lie less often to us.

Trump is the candidate which has lied the most, and has been caught already over 20 times. I guess if you are bold, loud and arrogant while you lie it makes you vote him? Trump has proven time and time again that he couldnít care less about whether or not the gibberish that spews from his mouth is actually true Ė just as long as itís what he thinks conservative voters want to hear.

He lied about Muslims celebrating in New Jersey, he lied about his campaign finances, he lied about Syrians building some luxury hotels, he lied about blacks doing some 90% of crimes against whites (real number was 15%), he lied about the amount of veterans dying. The list goes on.

everyone who looks at trump, should see what politicians are actually like, underneath all that glad-handed, baby-kissing bullsnow. he reminds me of smeagol's evil side, gollum. although, more stupid.

...strike that: he's like bush jr., only when he was back in college and doing a lot of coke. THAT stupid. he's no different from the media; playing off people's fears is his schtick. he should have his own personal reality t.v. show; i'll bet a lot of rednecks and other various retards would tune in. imagine the turnout if it was broadcast live in a cornfield: beer bellies, rebel flags, and 80's hair as far as the eye could see.

He also said after Paris attack that mosques should be monitored and eventually closed, then everyone went nuts, including here -how he dares.

And here we are, weeks later: after police investigations, we are today at 6 mosques closed, more than 25 imams prohibited of preaching,  + tons of weapons and ISIS affiliated documents found/confiscated in such mosques.

Police/FBI investigations have a process for following leads. If the leads follow you to a southern baptist church, you go to the southern baptist church (something that happened a few times in the 50s & 60s). If they lead you to a mosque, you go to the mosque. If they lead you to a ham sandwich, you go to the ham sandwich.

There's nothing wrong with investigators following evidence and doing what they're suppose to do.

In Trump's "defense", I doubt he's lying. I think he has false information embedded in his head and is repeating it at the political pulpit without double checking. That's what happens when you rely on pop culture.

I am not saying the opposite. The problem is that even if 130 dead corpses in the middle Paris would suggest that, for logistics matters, the islamists could have get help from the structures in place -mosques, there is still a political correctness fetlock which drags the investigations -first mosque search occurred 2 weeks later only.

Or a politician not muzzled by political correctness is something rare, and such attitudes often give effective results on the terrain.

Not saying that Trump would make a great president, actually I think the opposite, but for that point at least, giving to Caesar what is Caesar's.

I don't think he's lying either. He doesn't read that way to me at all. Often wrong, yes. A complete lunatic at times, yes. But he says what he believes at the time he says it. That doesn't mean I'd vote for him, but I definitely don't think he's intentionally trying to deceive people. He honestly believes the crazy-ass snow that comes out of his mouth, and he's unapologetic for any of it.

Hilary Clinton, however, I wouldn't trust to tell the truth any farther than I could throw her. She's made of slime.

That's the funny thing. Democrat politicians these days seem to be all greasy liars, willing to promise anything and delivering on nothing. Can we get better examples than Hilary and Obama? I don't think I've seen a genuine word issue from either of them. On the other hand, Republicans seem to be a breeding ground for complete idiots - Palin, Bachman, Herman Cain, Ben Carson. They're buffoons, almost as though part of some elaborate joke. Really, is this the best America can do?

An old Zbigniew Brzezinski's interview from 1998 has just been dug up, thought of sharing...

Quote:
Question: The former director of the CIA, Robert Gates, stated in his memoirs ["From the Shadows"], that American intelligence services began to aid the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. In this period you were the national security adviser to President Carter. You therefore played a role in this affair. Is that correct?

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.

Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into war and looked to provoke it?

B: It isnít quite that. We didnít push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.

Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didnít believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You donít regret anything today?

B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

Q: Some stirred-up Moslems? But it has been said and repeated Islamic fundamentalism represents a world menace today.

B: Nonsense! It is said that the West had a global policy in regard to Islam. That is stupid. There isnít a global Islam. Look at Islam in a rational manner and without demagoguery or emotion. It is the leading religion of the world with 1.5 billion followers. But what is there in common among Saudi Arabian fundamentalism, moderate Morocco, Pakistan militarism, Egyptian pro-Western or Central Asian secularism? Nothing more than what unites the Christian countries.
