I'm sure fred means someone else, because I seriously doubt he has seen "the prophet" I also doubt YOU have seen him, and hearsay - sorry - doesn't count.
This is the politics thread, and if you think that the result of the existing Islam is, politically, what the prophet had in mind, he either fails the simple contemporary constitutional test of all people being created equal or he has been totally and catastrophically misinterpreted. Case in point: female rights, gay rights, free speech, free press, religious freedom.

At this stage male-dominated islam is severely hindering evolution and endangering peaceful progress, prophet or not. It would be better for the world, if the islamic world would dig that.

I gave him an example of what I quoted, so he could document himself. That said, you're probably right as to avoid Islam in this thread, I wouldn't want to be accused of bringing that again and again.

Yet, the key word in your post is misinterpretation.

The whole human existence is about comeing to terms with the fact that it is FINITE: life as people know it will be OVER sooner or later, and not only that, life itself may have ugly moments (or even years) of hunger, sickness and general suffering.

As a race we lead a struggle that lasts probably a couple hundred thousand years, at least, however, 10-15 thousand years. There have been victims along the way that didn't make it - for example, the Neanderthalers.

In my opinion, against pretty hasrh odds, we've come a long way. Dreary as it may look sometimes, a LOT is in reach now that our predecessors wouldn't have dared to dream of.

That is what I call evolution.

technology is barely a decent indicator of a species that has their iron-clawed grip on the entire world, and has been ruining it for centuries. it would only be by developing technologies that give back as much as we take from nature, or moreover, enrich it with our presence; that i would make that same claim as you.

no, what i specifically mean by human evolution, is the evolution of our personalities and egos. which i find to barely be a stones-throw from where we were in the middle ages(ego's, much worse so). barring some law-driven public decency and civility, of course(meaning, without the laws as a foundation to hold up our flimsy "civilities", we would almost certainly become neanderthals yet again. think on the behavior you see all over the internet, at the political helms, in business, in social mob-mentality, overpopulation/overpollution/overuse of resources simply because "we wanted a baby!", etc. hell, just look at what happens on black friday in the u.s., ffs). we have come along somewhat, but we still have eons to go, until i, myself, will be satisfied by human evolution.

We owe nature NOTHING; if sou leave god(s) out of the equation, nature "bred" us, so-to-speak, but left us on our own to fight for our survival. Survive we did until now, as a race, but still the individual has to face the trauma of the end of their existance.

"Naturally" spoken, life, INDIVIDUAL life is EXTREMELY cheap. Expendable. Just look around. WE are the only species that gibes life a value, that tries to preserve and protect life. Not all life - but we aren't understanding things fully, so we are somewhat excused.

Sure, we need to care for the environment, but correct me if I'm wrong, but reduction of CO2 won't work to prevent climate change. We'll have to find a way to reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere artificially, and I'm also pretty sure that we have the capacity to do so. But we have to learn to think of humanity as ONE. No nations, bo races, no religions, just humans.

I mean, think! Nature has no police. Predators kill, and the only thing that is regulating them is that if they kill and multiply too much, in the end part of them will starve, which means, it's all about balance. Natural selection. Darwin's rule.

We try to change that. In earlier times, cripples and sick ones would be left to their fate. Sorry, I mean the "handicapped". Stephen Hawking would never have had a chance.

I'm with Brecht. In Saint Joan of the Stockyards Mauler, the capitalist, wants to show Joan, how depraved and evil they lowlives are, and when he DOES show it, Joan says, all he showed her was how bad circumstances are.

Think about whether we got anything for free. We didn't. We get life and we are supposed to be this or that way - but we decided to make our own fate. It's been a bloody business, but there never was an unbloody option.

i was going to respond to that, and in another thread, since we're getting off track here(probably my fault, but whatever). i decided against it, because i realized that some of my views in that response directly contradict some of my other existing views; and as such, will have to re-assess my views.

How sloppy is this going to get?

As if it hadn't been clear beforehand that this government would be a disgrace. You'd think they'd put some effort behind it, when they want to pull a Goebbels. But that's not even trying hard.

EDIT: Isn't it a bit strange that the Gun Owners of America are supporting the controversial Exec Order? I mean, you'd think they'd be happy over a continued influx of possible targets?

Ah, well, instead SpaceX and Tesla have now signed against it as well - with Musk being CEO of both companies and also in Trump's staff of advisors.

It's kind of funny how the rabid attacks on Trump are having the opposite effect as they intend. I have never liked Trump, but this pathetic tantrum the media and is having is pushing me farther and farther towards becoming a supporter.

It's not pathetic. They are understandably pissed about Trump libeling all the media, when he is lying through his teeth the moment he opens his trap. And it's not just the media either.
He managed to antagonize Europe, Australia and China already - and made a lot of women activists against him.

And I guess some people are losing interest, seeing the mess developing.

Frankly, he and the people from his crew just run their mouths more than the public is used to. In terms of real damage done he still has a lot to do to reach some of his predecessors. I just wonder what alternative does he have in case too many people get fed up - it's certainly not Hillary in any case.

Oh, he's certainly doing is best to change the score asap. I don't doubt he will succeed.

And, Salamandre, you probably believe the crap Le Pen is spewing forth as well. As if things in France would improve if they got out of the EU; the EU has nothing to do with the French immigration problems, that's the result of France being a colonial power and has a lot of immigrants from their ex colonies - with or without the EU. If there are integration problems you will have them with or without the EU.

Otherwise, you ARE living in la la land, considering he has managed to antagonize half the world's GOVERNMENTS, none of which are actually leftist. Junk news?`That's what YOU must have been reading.

What have apples to do with oranges? You go on ranting on Frexit, Le Pen, etc while I am pointing to Trump's biggest objective: normalize relations with Russia, which previous presidents humiliated and sanctioned, and for nothing. Thats what concerns most people out there, deflate world conflict between 2 super powers, not your crap.

And actually I don't want France to go out of EU -if we speak about, I want France to get its borders back, and if it takes to get out from EU for that, be it.

I doubt that Trump and Putin will get along in the long run. In Moscow they certainly try to capitalize on Trump's election but they are not idiots and are fully aware that his administration could start singing a very different tune at any moment. Trump already declared that Crimea should be returned to Ukraine to fully lift the sanctions (something unrealistic, to say the least) - more of a PR move than anything else but it shows that he will not be a friend of Putin.

Going on a collision course with China isn't deflating anything, and second-guessing, what Trump's biggest objective is, seems a bit, well, silly.
And it's actually not MY crap - I'm just linking to articles, as opposed to the word husks without any meaning you sling.
You can build as many borders as you want in France, you already have your ex colony population and you either get them integrated or you don't, and borders won't help with that.
However, who cares?

We have a couple of decisions this year, and we'll see where things lead to. Whether we agree or not.
