Cover of Darkness when playing against AI

When playing Necropolis against AI does it make sense to build Cover of Darkness?

Does AI obey it or ignore it?

The AI know the entire map since the start of game.So the cover will obscure "his wiew" of map.

Cover of Darkness does work against the AI - stupidly so, too. You can often see the AI Heroes scanning the same territory over and over again, after the territory gets covered by your Cover of Darkness each turn.

Despite this, however, the AI does seem to be aware of the whereabouts of your Heroes within that Cover and will act accordingly. I am not sure if the AI uses View Air and View Earth to determine this or if it's simply cheating. I assume the latter.

As an aside, I really wish they had chosen a different implementation of the Cover of Darkness; Unexplored tiles should be completely black, explored tiles should be visible in full color. Then if a tile gets covered again (either be it through the Cover of Darkness of a Necropolis town or the Cover of Darkness adventure map object), it should turn the tile into greyscale colors (pretty much akin the way the Obelisk puzzle map is shown) and remove all temporary objects from view (like resources and artifacts) as well as hide ownership of mines and towns and such. It makes no sense to turn the map fully black under a Cover of Darkness, as the landscape is static and therefore the general layout of the map is known once you've seen it at least once. Also, for the purposes of pathing, this greyscaled area should act just like any other territory you've already uncovered and allow plotting a path through it.

Furthermore, if you should capture the Necropolis town, the tiles already discovered earlier (but obscured through the shroud while in enemy hands) should be revealed again.
