It's a futile battle, I already pointed out the hypocrisy a few pages ago to no effect. Baseless moaning without actual first-hand experience is laughable, no matter what Steam or Metacritic says

So playing beta, watching streams, and following game development is baseless. YOu should reconsider that. Everything important (or core) for MMH7 could be seen in beta, so your argument is invalid. But even if someone was not in beta, and haven't played the game at all has right to criticize, as there are plenty of sources for information: streams (both official and from players), dev blog, even reviews (biased or not). So, not owning the game does not revoke your rights to criticize it. Of course, everything is subjective, and I always say to the ones who enjoy the game that I am happy for them (this is not a joke or mocking, I really am), but for me game has several critical faults (not connected to bugs) and I will not play it fr sure.

I don't think, the opinions are so far apart, actually.

My impression is, people are playing the campaigns, mostly, and I would imagine, that the campaigns are the best part of the game, since the scripting and following the story narrows the game down anyway on one hand, but also gives it something adventure-like in addition, making it special.

While I can speak only for myself, I'm not interested in the campaigns, simply because they are the once-only part of the game which is something for Sundays. For weekdays I like the unscripted play, "skirmishes", where I can pick things myself, and it's that part of the game that just doesn't work for me - it's that part that suggests "endless replayability". Does it really, though?

I mean, I expect a lot more than 50+ hours playing time when I play a STRATEGY game (it would be ok for an adventure)...

I think those are perfectly good reasons to be at the forum (certainly not more justified than my own, but equally justified), but I also think they can easily be indulged without any need to take a big dump on the forum and all of the other people visiting it in every second post lol

Indeed so when someone wants to enjoy the game and share his opinions about it,you people can hold it in, instead of making everyone who likes the game feeling like they like the most awful game in the entire universe. Your opinion is well known by now.
Also i don't even pay games for my 3ds that much. And i found the game here for 34 euros.
Also there is a good difference between beta and the game. And it will be a bigger one when the patch arrives(if ot doesnt break anything). I was very disappointed at the beta, but now i see lots of things have changed. Also i play on a laptop and i m having zero crashes. Really.

I think the majority of distatisfied people runs the game on old hardver.

I'll let you know aside crashes I could run the beta on my 6 or 7 years old computer. Fact game is totally unplayable for some has nothing to do with its specs, rather with the state of the game at release, which obviously runs "smooth" on a minority of computers. Is called compatibility problems. No one has "wrong hardware". A delay of the release as the community requested would have probably done some good on that aspect. Game design questionable decisions OTOH, which I seem not to be the only one complaining about, is yet of another matter dragging down this franchise for the MM brand's anniversary.

Yeap, I mostly read the comments on Shadow council's site, since from the beginning, of course your's are on top place Yes, game design is bad I agree with it. However hardwer does matter. It was unplayable on my old PC, and it had 4 giga rams, and 4core Intel CPU, with Nvidia GPU. Well the beta didnt ran at all crashed very often, than I just tested the same beta on my better PC, and the  experince was not comparable. The same beta not just ran more smoothly but I also experienced less crash... I have now I7, 16 giga DDR4, and Nvidia970 gtx, with SSD... So the vanilla crashed for me after the release only one time, and the game runs smooth.
So what I wanted to say, that the game runs on higher config.. with less bugs, than on less powerfull one.

ChrisD1: I'm sorry man but I find it extremely rude of you accusing Verriker bullying you. He has a right to say his opinion, which I've always seen him do in a sarcastic yet polite and respectful manner, if YOU can't handle other people's opinions about the game and the current state of the franchise you can only blame yourself.

But I just told you is not specs but compatibility problem. Besides, I don't see why anyone would need a war machine to run a game with such outdated graphics.

I agree with JollyJoker.

The one thing I disliked in Ubi's heroes (even H5) is that campaigns felt too narrow, their gameplay felt too different from skirmish. It was more of RPG than strategy.

You are right there. Let us take a look upon H6, as an example. H6 beta worked perfectly on my computers, but when vanilla came out, everything went to hell. Black screens when you enter combat, town or load a game. And then there were patches: after patching the game, I was unable to start the game at all on my computers.

As for H7, the number of bugs present in-game (check the official ubi forums) gives impression that this is not relese, rather Beta 3.

when I trash the game for being crappy I am primarily setting out to trash the game, a piece of plastic and data,
but when you trash the community you are setting out to trash all of your fellow members, people, including those like Maurice who are a hundred times more polite than I am and might actually even happen to agree with your opinion lol

if you feel bad that others dislike the game and will dispute positive criticism where they disagree, sorry, but look, I mean I ain't sitting here cackling, twirling my Dick Dastardly mustache and trying to ensure that you have a bad experience with the game, I'm trying to advocate for a much better game for us all lol

This is a good question. So old engine and so high minimum requirements. Bad optimalization perhaps? With this graph. the game should run fast on older PC's as well. But never mind it's not so important thing. For me it gives more trouble that I have to worry about the future of this franchise, considering the rage since the release...I would like to play HOMM even if I will be 90 years old, and half blind...I curious how sales are performing now....

All of us, "spammers haters" actually tried to prevent such a horrible release, by pointing out problems as soon as we got knowledge of. We were dismissed on every aspect aside the Necro-rage they were expecting (according to Erwinifico), not to mention two models don't save the whole Arachnopolis concept, and seriously I see no one else to blame than UbiSaft and the MMH7 Team (aka MMH6 B-Team) as they are solely responsible for this 20th anniversary tragedy.

I disagree with you. If you trash a product, you automatically trash the mastermind(s) behind the product.

That said - so what, err, lol. It must be allowed to critisize stuff.

Besides, a lot of faults come from devs and their slavemaster publisher. Just remember what happened after Necropolis townscreen was released - ability to pre-order, as if they dismissed tons of very angry people. So don't think that we want to see them lose; we just want a better approach at all this.

This quote suitable for everyone. For you, for me, for Chris, for Ubi, Breton and all.
Now it looks like everyone just trying to shift responsibility from one to another. Fans to haters, haters to Ubi, Ubi to fans...

we probably have to disagree, in my opinion if I see a turd lying in my ice cream bowl and say "this turd has ruined my ice cream", I am not necessarily criticizing whoever squatted over my bowl and produced it, I am only criticizing their work lol

if I would specifically say, "screw you, Erwin, for ruining my ice cream" (Erwin is a randomly selected name for this example), that would be different, it would be personally critical of the squatter lol

only when I specifically criticize, again for the sake of example, Erwin, am I setting out to criticize Erwin, but even that is nothing personal, I am critical specifically of him in his role but if he vacated the role or did not produce turds I would stop lol

I normally don't like ad hominems, but in this case I cannot do anything else but point out that most criticism has been vented against the decisions they made; decisions which pushed the game away from excellence and down to mediocrity.

You on the other hand can't post a single post, seemingly, where you're not condescending to one or more people on this forum. Your posts are generally negative towards fellow forum members, posts in which you blame people for holding the past high and not backing away from that position, even though the people who truly do that are actually far and few in between.

Most people who are venting criticism towards the current game have done so with ample suggestions on how to improve the aspects they feel lacking. It just so happens that on a number of those, references to past games work best to illustrate what used to work in the past and got botched now. That however by no means is supposed to say that past games were better. Even so, it's a fact that even after 15 years, Heroes 3 is still played by a lot of people, while Heroes 6 is all but forgotten now and Heroes 7 seems to be built upon the rubble of Heroes 6.
