That is already covered with Succession War mod. How about NWC's H5?
It is not the original game though. NWC's H5 would require quite a few Archangels I think.

Fortunately Limbic will be able to fix the problems... finally, no matter how long it takes. That's my wish. We will hope and see. We cannot do more for it right now, just keep giving feedback and hoping. This game needs a long support as these reviews show us. But even sone games with 1/10 points can be finally made good if devs get enough time and money to fix them. But if it fails, I guess we will not see any Heroes in the future.

I guess probability of this event very small?

1. The development process is tuned quite wretchedly. It is seen by a lot of bugs, stupid bugs,  which should be detected during testing. Yes, a game must have bugs, in any case, but count of them depends from QA, in first turn. But QA in our case is "A small internal QA team". Ok, you can say that the game has users, and they could test product. But this scheme has large drawbacks . First is users are not professional testers and can't do this job,  make a bug reports,  descriptions and so on,  skillfully. It will cause to fall a speed of bug processing which requires well sorting,  filtering doubles and poor formed applications (this process you can see in UBI support). Second is developers tends to make new bugs, when are fixing old one. Who will test these and retest old? Also users, but users work only for interest and very unstable they will lost it after some time because users want to play but not to test product.  This process will absorb more and more time and money, if time  is not so important then about budget I can not say so.

2. More important, than not well formed QA process. It is architectural miscalculation. They took UE3  to implement TBS which was designed for other types of games. I guess it was caused by the economic side of development but  it has played a cruel joke, example is high system requirements, visual glitches. It says that they do not have somebody who knows well this engine or may he/she does not have time to fix this issues well

I reviewed here only technical problems without relation with other game's aspects which only worsen current situation. I think this two items are enough to doubt in a successful outcome.

i ve tested new Regeneration and it is alot better now (:
u doubled mana cost what is fine and now it is worth casting but hell no it's by no way OP, heroic army growth is really insane but i like it, it's really hard to deal These big armies but
i wonder how AI deals with it because i sometimes get defeated by average armies on heroic difficulty on map if i choose quick combat just because the AI can't handle it, to be fair, i sometimes can't also lol so it makes sense that AI doesnt attack anything but i still have to test how AI handles things atm

just tested AI in Team mode and... at last on the adventure map the AI Plays quite good, I#ve tested heroic AI and same difficult for map, I#m noz sure but i think the AI does lose less Units if it fights than the PC that chooses to quick combat, however it still avoids most armies and to be serious it isn't the worst Thing to do on heroic, neutral armies become so fast big, really...

it is funny that if u load a previous save, next turn it will tend to act different than before like it had his own mind lol quite realistic here because humans also do mistakes and decide different and not always the same

AI still buys too many hereos, yes they pick a lot of stuff and scan the map but I'm not sure if it's the best to do but really I'm not sure here, maybe it is good mabe it is not, it still has enough Gold to buy armies and build the town so it somehow seems fine?

it also channels the army on one hero and Upgrades Units what is really clever, if enemy has captured towm , it will leave eveything and capture it back, can happen that it wont defend the town even enemy AI is near but at last it left a decent army which was killed of course but other Option would have been playing cat and mouse so not the worst Thing to do? i think so

i dont know how it would act on easier maps with lower neutral armies but maybe i'l test it but im only interested in heroic anyway to say

however, I'm quite fond of the AI for the Moment at last on the adventure map  and i think it's really difficult to create a good AI for this game bacause there are so many factors so People dont Forget that, also some may think AI should do this and this but on the other side some will say the opposite so certainly this a hard Task

i wonder how AI chooses skills for his hereos? does it prefer skills like economy and exploring? hard to say but would be interesting

As I pointed on SC, I am strongly worried about Heroes future if Limbic will not be successful in the process of fixing this game.
Even more, I think it will probably be the last Heroes for many following years:

1) Ubi usually does not sell rights, no matter how fans wish them to do it, they just buy rights. And if they-in some miracle- finally manage it to do it, who do you think would buy the rights for series which has the last two games very criticised? No matter how much we wish them to sell the rights, it simply will not happen.
2) Ubi invests only in projects they expect to be profitable. And who would buy H8 after unfinished H6 and than even more unfinished H7? I think that one fail is excussable, but two in a row... I don't think Ubi would risk so much to invest in a game nobody would believe in.

So I hope Limbic knows how important is their effort... And these are not empty world as it may seemed to be (if you don't believe me, you may try look for another realistic solutions what can happen with Heroes in H7 will finally not be successful).

So what? We already have H2, H3 Succession Mod, H3 HoTA, H3 VCMI, H5 5.5... Keep modding fellowmen!! Seriously guys, it seems the future of the Heroes saga is their fans' hands (including the seventh installment). So be it.

By the way, why Heroes VII takes so many space? As I further recall Age of Wonders III occuppies 3 GB tops (and it's a way better game).

Surely I did not mean modding - Heroes will not die
I just wanted to remind the fact there will probably not be H8 (or H9, H10...) if Ubilimbic does not fix H7 enough.

And H7 occupies so many space ... well I think it is because the game uses engine which is not much suitable for Heroes - but gomaki could probably answer us on monday about it, about some technical details or their explanation?

And why do you expect that he commenting on other posts is arguing, or convincing? Devs had a very good opportuninty for convincing us: by creating a good game. If they did that, they would silence all negative comments

But, I start to wonder what is his job, when he posted this:

The funniest thing is that all of this is almost exactly the same to what happened with H6.

Regarding future of heroes, I really think that modding is the future. If they release H8, and if they are not smart, we will end up with another pile of snow (like H6 and H7) and I don't think we need that.

I know I sound negative, but after H6 and H7 fiasco, I find it very hard to stay positive

Yep. That's my whole point. If you think you're unable to make a better product, don't step up. That simple.

No matter what H7 will not surpass H3 or H5, so what's the point?

Look, we already have what we need: modders, ergo I'd like to thank the comrades here who invest countless hours of their spare time -don't forget that- trying to keep the flame alive, getting over the mediocre products selled by the supposed "pros". I love you guys!!

A free advise from your old chap tophatchild: don't buy Ubi craps... just don't. Indifference is the answer.

Sorry but no. Indifferance is possibly the worst thing that could happen now.
As much as I hate the constant whining and ragefests, these are necessary to get the series back on its track. A forgotten bad game can cause som losses to a company but loud complaining and a bad rep is the nightmare of the marketing people and will motivate the company to do better.
Atleast this way things get actually done albeit in a pretty ugly way. Otherwise what we are left with is Ubi shelving the IP to be forgotten untill Ubi eventually goes bankrupt due to horrible buisness concept which seems kinda inevitable the way things are currently going(Not that Vivendi would be that much better tbh).

The only way modding could save H7 is if Ubi gave away the source code for the game. Modders could go hogwild and we could actually create a game worthy of its legacy. (Maybe a disgruntled Limbic employe could leak the source code somehow *wink, wink*).

Thank you. Most members of this board know I don't trash for the sake of trashing but I will repeat to some lurkers who might have the wrong idea: I don't trash for the sake of trashing and certainly don't enjoy doing so, all I want is a new instalment of my favourite series and be able to enjoy it, to recognize it as worthy of the title, and oh god I know for a fact the only language Ubi understands is pure flaming (Lich and Vampire anyone?). It is no secret I want the franchise to be put out of its misery, even if a temporary death is necessary in order to have it reborn from the ashes in a blaze of glory. I will keep on being vocal until something is done and I strongly encourage anyone sharing my point of view on the way the brand is being treated to to the same. Each voice counts. At the very least log in to upvote down the blog.

As for the eventuality of Vivendi eating Ubi, there is a chance they will sell the less profitable IPs and I bet MM would be part of it.

And if there are some preferring H6 and H7 to the NWC games or H5, sorry but all I can tell you is we don't like the same game.

I guess it really depends on how much money they could make selling the title to how much money they could make on Might and Magic mobile.

What makes you think this?

Also what's the alternative? Current MMH keep on going?
Or Ubi drawing to the conclusion the brand is not working, there is just as much chance them or Vivendi try to sell it high price than we see TRUE sequel under current conditions..

Think Ubisnow did something similar with Might and Magic Heroes Online.
