It's funny how Haven gets mostly recycled designs in every new game and yet it manages to stay cool.
To me, they only got cool now. I've never liked Haven(except in Heroes 2), really disliked their whole Holy theme. But now that we are having Wolf Duchy, with different design and units, I might actually like them for the first time after Heroes 2.
Agreed. The earliest I ever played was H3, so they've never seemed all that cool to me until now. At best, H5 Haven had the best city screen after Academy. H5 wasn't TOO bad for them, but for every angel there were 22 peasants.
But this! THIS is a Haven I can totally get behind!

Heroes 3 Haven was the peak for me as far as humans go. But I never really liked the faction that much. Who knows, maybe Heroes VII will deliver a good Haven that I'll play not only in campaigns.

Maybe I am overly optimistic, but I really think that Heroes VII has the potential to become my favourite in the entire series, at least so far as aesthetics are concerned. Not only does Haven really click with me this time, but Academy looks absolutely boss to me as well. Yeah, we haven't seen everything from them yet, but Academy was my favourite in H5 and their H7 aesthetics look infinitely better to me.

You can't possibly imagine how many said that about Heroes 6 too.

Perhaps not. But two things are true:
1) I am eternally optimistic.
2) H6 was... a learning experience.
(What is it with me as making a list while addressing it as "true"? Is this going to be my verbal tic for this site? )

About the Q&A
Luck:
Negative Luck is back. That's cool.
Wonder what they mean with "fumble" being synonymous with try again or reduced damage dealt.
Primary attributes:
Back to basics! Different nominations, I assume this means each base point will be weighted differently (i.e. +1 in attack will carry more weight that +1 in knowledge)...not sure.
Skill system:
Mix between H6 (full control) and H5 (skills are structured in a wheel). Hmmmm like the wheel part, but full control...not sure, I always was a fan of random offerings...
Haven racial ability:
Righteousness - "Whenever a friendly creature has good morale, all other friendly creatures get +X morale until they have good morale. This effect can stack up to the morale cap".
I like this! Good inovation...it just makes morale work better for Haven.

I think I can say that I'm almost eternally optimistic. With H6 I was, until the successive bugs killed my optimism. Anyway, I had a lot of fun with h6.
Still, this haven is looking very nice.

I also like new Haven artworks but I hope in-game models won't be as ugly as in MMH:7, especially in case of faces. The best example are priestesses. Their artwork was simply gorgeous but in-game model had straw instead of hair... Thankfully, showed renders from game give hope that 3D models will resemble graphics in a significant way.

Some exciting news, haven morale system sounds very interesting, that and the upgradeable warfare units were two things that stuck out gameplay wise.
The only thing that concerns me is the skill wheel. While I accept h5 may have been too random, h6 full control was as boring as bat crap. Surely there's a happy medium between the two

Well it's not like we haven't been shouting random skills + non-random perks for ages, but no, apparantly they think they know better, or otherwise they just don't listen to what we say.

All this questions to developers but none asked about artifacts.
To Marzhin
Could you tell us will there be artifact sets, because now without dynasty weapons artifacts will be to weak.
Thanks in advance

Artifacts can be absurdly powerful without Dinasty stuff...play H2/H3/H4 and you'll know what I'm talking about

It was not amongst the questions I sent. I did not want to ask more than 10-12 questions, a number that Irina had suggested back in H6 times.

I played heroes 3/5/6 and 3 and 5 both had artifact sets it was so cool that way. In heroes 6 it was such a mistake for developers to remove them
