recently, i am playing total war: warhammer, and it feels like a great turn based fantasy game.. it somehow feels like close to heroes series.
i was going to write a big topic about suggestions to next heroes, and i was thinking radical changes.. now this total war game hit the target. this is exactly what i was wishing for. completely different ideas can go very well with tunr based fantasy.
you may get angry but i think none of you guys have any good ideas to refresh heroes series to this modern era.. and ubisoft is even worse with thier cowardness/no talent/no vision.
play this game and imagine some of those mechanics in heroes 8 or whatever you would like to call.

also im playing stellaris whcih is again full of good ideas that can be in future heroes. RANDOM EVENTS! this must be in heroes. such a fun element! those "week of x" is desperetly in need of becoming something more fun..

town screens may become interactive, may have random events or some moving citizens inside it. or even towns may expand. or even towns may become larger on adventure map with beatiful visuals with every single building showing itself. adventure map can become "town screen" itself. just imagine things, and think outside of the box. there can be tons of good/new ideas for a heroes game.
i imagine adventure map having tons of random events, some are giving long period quests, some are instant effecting.
in h4 we had those moving creatures.. also why not improving moving units idea and then implement in game? somethings may move around map.. some are connected to random events and some are not.. making map full of life and interesting things going on.
what about battlegrounds? maybe hills and pits in battle terrain with bonuses and whatnot to particular actions... archers on hills hitting harder and stuff like that. or imagine, maybe for demons, "corrupting pits" terrain-ability to make battle even more fun.. there can be a terrain-ability concept.

i dont know, i can go on forever. i want to to see ubi & heroes fans expanding their minds toward such things.

Completely agree, although, you would have to make sure that it is an across the board affect or it would become incredibly unfair.

Moving units is a terrible idea in my opinion, I disliked it so much in King's Bounty that it detered my from playing that game (along with some other things ofc, such as no quickcombat). Maybe in certain limited form it could appear but we have currently moving enemy heroes, it is enough I think.
Btw. I am quite sure if Ubisofts manages to make H8, it will be full of new ideas. H7's gameplay is very conservative, also they always make one Heroes game based on traditional elements and then one game with experiments (new features). The question is how much we will ilke them ofc..

I doubt that it is because that is their "pattern" rather than them trying to fix a screw up.

Cleglaw, you are neither the first nor the last to make those suggestions but in the end it's all irrelevant if they fail to get the basics right. If the next team has a vision, imagination and a good taste they will find a way to surprise you. But ubi's surprises tend to be bad so I would be happy if they handed the series to someone who knows what to do with it.

They could be more varied, though, I guess that would require more variables to change.

At least a crash can save you from getting horrible weeks like rendering shooters useless or whatnot.

This would have been the natural evolution from the H5 screens. It would be challenging to keep them functional, but I like the idea of integrating the three layers (adventure map, town and combat) more into one another.

They already made that game; it's called Heroes 6 and people generally didn't like it very much. The "conservative" direction of H7 was a result of the bad reception of H6, but unfortunately they were not able to fully capture the "essence of Heroes".

Uninstalled the game long time ago cose lack of multiplayer (sim turns especilly)...and wandering if smth changed meanwhile .... guess not, right??
Also, why are they developing same dead game h6/7??? Anyone enlight me pls!

It is due to Limbic's contract with Ubisoft, since they are forced to make an expansion for Heroes VII.

I think its more complex then that...may be because they're forced to improve smth for getting a certain sum of money from us ... thats more suitable for ubi's brain
PS : Im so scared by that picture Verriker published...lol...who are thouse dwarves there...??? and yes man...what's all about thouse smilly-scary faces out there?!?!?!

There are other ways to gain profit. They wouldn't be making a new expansion if they weren't forced to, considering how the game has very negative reception.

One's Erwan, the others are developers and those affiliated with Heroes VII. Why are they smiling though, is something what they know...
