Puzzle map is very nice... but this is not enough to save game, if game mechanic is broken (read: copied from previous title).

Looks like this moondoe/sundeer is main celebrity of heroes 7, it even got the main spot on sylvan stained glass ! I wonder if it will be on the game cover ?

Other than that, I like it, the picture looks very nice I loved stained glasses in Heroes 5. One of those article that made me happy but yes, I agree the digging should return and not making it a spell

The game needs more spell casting because firstly, with 7 magic schools, you do want to get use of a larger spell pool (otherwise you'd pick just one school, which I imagine will be the case most of the time), and secondly as a measure to counterbalance Might which holds an advantage from passives.

They're restricting casting more.

I don't know what to say. I mean, it wasn't enough that they discarded the ATB system of Heroes 5 in favor of a fixed turn system which is way less flexible, but now they just have to come up with this convoluted snow to make Magic even worse.

I want to believe but it's pretty damn hard when you see these type of design decisions being made.

I imagine it is like the adventure map spells in H5 the same ones are present for everyone every time.

So now heroes must visit Obelisks on their own before being able to dig. This looks like it will make very confusing to know which obelisk has been visited and which not, by your heroes

Edit: as it can be seen in the picture below, you are given the number of found obelisk and wether that hero has visited that obelisk or not.



So there's no need for keeping track of which hero visited each obelisk. Nevermind this comment.

I don't have a problem with it being a spell. It doesn't really change anything other than what menu you find the button. I feel all heroes should be able to dig no matter if they've visited an obelisk or not however.

Not really a fan of the "reveal treasure"-spell as it just seems change for sake of change(+ dig felt much more natural to me). Before you pressed adventure-maps "dig" or keyboard "D" to dig, now you gotta open spell-book and click it from there every time till you find the spot. It just seems extra hassle to me. I think you can add spells for quick-cast to the side though, but not 100% sure as I didn't try it on beta. Another smaller complaint is the name of the spell; casting "reveal treasure" would make me think it's spell to pinpoint the tear location on the screen rather than actually dig(the spell simply sounds stupid to me in my head for the action) so I'm hoping they will revert to simple "dig" or at least rename the spell to something more logical..

I wonder if there can be several different type/color of obelisks in h7?
Also for the puzzles, I really hope the puzzle doesn't always clear out in same order placing "x" to the middle. Might not even have same picture placement of the area for all players hopefully(by this I mean for player 1 Tear might be in NE corner while to player 2 picture it might be middle and for player 3 at East in middle, all having same location, but the screen being of different position/location, just having common area as the Tear location).
For the Tear of Asha; I hope it is or can be set to have random location instead of simply pre-set one(which you will know after the first time always)

Reveal Treasure... and the only treasure I have is a solid tear from a goddess.

Why not expanding this spell? I mean it is just limited to find the Grail *ahem* Tear of Asha, but there certainly could be other treasures. Reminding you of H4: artifacts, cash, resources, maybe even a long-forgotten scroll that gives you a few ten-thousand points of experience. That couldn't hurt to add to the gameplay.

the vision of Heroes 7 is not to add anything to the gameplay, it's to try and be a greatest hits of Heroes and match Heroes 3 (which it won't lol)

People used Urgash's Brazier in faction contests for some time, but nothing at official level.
