AnkVaati that Banshee in Sylvan is very interesting. But I reckon the Dryad in the Ashan Compendium would already fill the Banshee's slot as the spiritual manifestation of the forest. Also, I take it Gargantuans from AoW? I can dig, they're very well-designed.

Come to think of it, I've never actually posted my wish list. Included are alternate upgrades, the second upgrades inspired by the Water Elves faction.

Core:
Pixie --> Sprite, Fairy
Classic core flyer unit, Sprites being more offense oriented (Spray, no retaliation, possible Symbiosis with non-Elf creatures in the lineup) while Fairies are core spellcasters. I like the Ranged Lake Fairies from KoB (the app version), but another core ranged unit might be...unsynergistic.
Lynx Rider (that design was way too cool, but would prefer male) --> Cheetah Rider, Panther Prowler
This ground melee unit fits with the "prowl from the environment and strike fast" Sylvan tactics. Because the battlefield plays a bigger role now, maybe their special attributes include being able to jump over single tiled obstacles? Maybe attack bonuses from a bush? "Agility" skill from Wind Dancers would be nice for one of the upgrades?
Hunter (would prefer female, but copy and paste of H5 ones would look just as good) --> Grand Hunters, Sharpshooters
Again, copy and paste from H5 would be nice. Though with flanking now possible, I wonder if it would make sense to give these ranged units a "move and strike" command. That part on the website that said Elves like to shoot from three directions... Maybe ranged units won't be as static as they used to be?

Elite:
Unicorn --> Maiden Unicorn, Pegasus Archer
All this talk of mounted archers gave me an idea. Why not make the Unicorn mounted? Of course they would be ridden by elven maidens. Vanilla is classic unicorn, without a maiden. Blind skill, the whole shebang. The Maiden Unicorn augments the unicorns powers, increasing Blind probability and creates a magic resistance aura. The Pegasus, a winged unicorn that trades its horn for wings, loses its abilities, but allows the use of a flanking archer unit.
Transcendent--> Forest Transcendent, Lake Transcendent
Not the classic ranged/support Druid we know and love. But an irregular unit that serves multiple purposes, an amalgamation of Warcraft 3's druids and King's Bounty's Werewolves. That female druid with the Owl and Bears at her call from the Compendium were pretty much the inspiration for this.
Morphing can only be done once a turn. Vanilla can only morph into stags or maintain ranged human form (albeit a lackluster type of ranged unit). Forest Transcendents can maintain human, or morph into a) Werebears b) Giant Hawks. Lake ones can maintain human, or morph into a) War Tortoise b) Owls.
Treant--> Gargantuan, Sentinel
I changed my mined. Treants to be Elites. Standard, rooting ground tank unit.

Champion:
Dryad --> Nymph, Nereid
Support champion unit. I kinda picture giant forest spirits, enlargened versions of the photo in the Compendium. Nymph is not much for combat, but has the skill the Succubus Seducer used to have. This is a very powerful crowd control skill for an Elite unit to have, so champion it is. Nereid, on the other hand, instead of being the spiritual successor to the Mizu Kami, the image I got from her is something that regenerates/resurrects or protects the vanguard. The damage would still come from the Cores and Elites, but the Champion, as the beacon of nature, keeps them alive. In a way, they're the opposite of Sacntuary, where every unit plays a part in paving the way for the champion to destroy the opposition. With the Dryad unit stream, she is not a combat unit but has very useful skills that help in the preservation of the cores and elites.
Green Dragon --> Emerald D, Sapphire D
Could be any flying unit really. But a good alternative to the Support champion playing style.

SYLVAN
Wolf-Nature Wolf: Fast unit, avergae dmg and Health. I know Haven have direwolves, but it's not really the same.

Having wolves in Haven it makes no sense :/

Elite:
Horse Archer: Agile mounted shooter, mentioned in Discover Sylvan
Hyppogryph OR Pegasus: High Health flyer

Sounds cool

Faerie Drake-Fey Drake: Ranged caster/Shooter/Flyer http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100401223710/dragons/images/8/84/Faerie_Dragon.png How it would look
Champion:
Green Dragon-Azure Dragon: Flyer champion unit
Unicorn OR Kelpie like creature: Strong and fast champion unit, the frailest of all champion units but high damage and speed.

Now here there is a rather big problem - two dragons on a single faction is too much imo.

A really great solution (in my opinion) would be to raise Faerie dragons/drakes to champion tier, while putting Unicorns down to Elite (Unicorns could be the magic oriented creature in Elite tier).

The missing champion would have to be might oriented, and since I don't want to see another dragon, I guess Treants could be ok (provided they are big and scary to be considered champions, not like H5 )

Yeah I agree on wolves, that should probably be replaced with something else, I just love the HoMM IV wolves in Preserve/Nature. Though on the dragons, technically, there is only one dragon, the champion dragon. The Faery drakes are lesser beings, not really dragons, moreso the offspring of them and not nearly as powerful as the ordinary ones, and they only have front legs no back legs, if you look at the link

And also, even if they are Caster/Ranged, they should have no or only a slight penalty in melee combat.

I would replace the horse archer with something else. Not that it is bad or uninteresting by itself, it is uninteresting being a HORSE archer. Now, an archer on something else, like a lynx we all talk about, would be interesting.

That's a great idea. Mounted archers I've always found intriguing, which is why I love the centauress as an elite.

Flying steed archers are definitely more interesting. Especially now that flanking is involved. Sylvan should get on that hehe.

Yeah, some kind of feline or canine would be awesome. I simply put it there because it's mentioned in the thread of Discover Sylvan on the Heroes 7 site.

Now that we are talking about lineups, I would like to post my own:
CORE:
Pixie (the green leafy one from Compendium)
Hunter (what is Sylvan without them?)
Lynx/Lynx rider (either of them would be great)
ELITE:
Druid (again, what is Sylvan without them?)
Unicorn (and AGAIN, what is Sylvan without them?)
Dryad (also the one from the Compendium)
CHAMPION:
Treant (giant walking tree as a champion? heck yes)
Green dragon (similair to the Sylanna's design for HoMM6)

Hippogriff riders ! Just like Warcraft 3.

Exactly! Except I think Ubisoft would face a lawsuit if they ever used Hippogriffs lol.

So I altered my lineup a bit to give the Sylvans a minimum of 2 ranged units... well 1.5 really. The hunters and the not so stellar ranged Transcendents in human form.

Unicorns can be upgraded to flying mounted archers, at the cost of Blind and Magic Resistance.

With the lineup being relatively fragile, players have a hard choice of whether they want a Champion that keeps them protected/alive, or extra flying AOE unit.

Yeah, I was proposing Hippogriffs earlier in this thread(I think it was this?) as I think that they really belong to something like Sylvan. Now, Hippogriffs or Hippogriff Riders doesn't matter much, the unit is there.

I prefer pegasi because they're more fabulous.

You don't have to have the silvery white ones. Do a Herculean brown pegasus, with a mounted druid shooting lightning bolts in flying drive-by attacks. Aww yeah.

Honestly Ubisoft, just hand over the game to me. I'll make you a fortune.

I'm not TOO familiar with all the lore but... Didnt the Academy create the bulk of hybrid monsters? Wouldnt that include Pegasues and Griffins? Or is this a world where Lion/Eagles are normal but Bull/Men are magic?

Griffins aren't a type of beastmen in Ashan. Minotaur (half man, half bull), centaur (half man, half horse), sharkdudes (half dude, half shark) are. The wizards failed at controlling the beastmen and they have since dispersed and joined other factions (or for minotaur, enslaved)
