Poll Question:
Sylvan vs. Fortress poll
I would like to see the notion of HC on the vote between Sylvan vs. Fortress. Even I’m surprised that no one has created poll about it already. I expect victory for Sylvan and I also know that the holders of Uplay account can decide the fate of the factions in the real vote but still I want see what HC thinks.
So which faction would like to see in Heroes 7.

Already voted Sylvan. Having one more defensive faction at the expense of the only agile faction among the current so far makes no sense to me.

Fortress. Probably hopeless, but still. I definitely don't want two Elven factions in the vanilla game, and I expect Dungeon to be part of the second faction vote.
I would rather like to see a different Fortress take than in HoMM 5 - and the Ashan Sylvans are a rather boring lot, imo.

I voted Sylvan, but realize that unfortunately for Fortress the most likely image one conjures of it is that of the Homm5 lineup.
My favoritism towards Sylvan is largely rooted in my enjoyment of how bright their faction is, along with their reliance on ranged damage and nature spells. They can be a very dynamic faction to play.

Voted Fortress. The less Elves we have bringing their incredibly dull, cliche fantasy tropes to the game, the better.

As I and many others expected total dominance of Sylvan. Well played Ubisoft, well played. They faced David vs. Goliath and David will lose  . They only created a delusion for choice with this knock-out-type votes. If the next vote is Dungeon vs. Inferno (as many online magazines clame), it’ll be more tight but still I expect victory for the dark elves not because Inferno is crap faction but because the lore from the previous 2 games in the series – same old eclipses and invasions.
Another voting mechanism would’ve been better – pick 2 factions of 5 (Sylvan, Fortress, Dungeon, Inferno and Sanctuary). That would've been closer to real vote.
The real vote would’ve been for all faction. For instance, during the H6 time they could’ve done something like this:
“Rate all nine faction” (without hinting anything about H7):
1st place 4.5 points
2nd - 4p
3 - 3.5p
…
9 – 0.5p
So factions like Haven would’ve been out… for sure. But because the lore (Haven is in the center of the freaking map) they can't afford this luxury.

I want to have both. Out of the five remaining, these are the two factions I want in the base game the most.
However, if I have to choose, I'd love Sylvan there but I voted for Fortress because maybe if it's a tie, both Sylvan and Fortress will be in the base game. Wishful thinking.

If it was the h3 fortress I wouldn't hesitate to vote for it, but dwarves... meh. Dwarves and elves have become a cliche, they are far too used in fantasy games... it's like game developers are becoming too lazy to invent their own races. I know not all are gonna agree with this but it's just my personal opinion

But seriously, I like Dwarves better than Elves. The Dwarves deserve a second chance.
But I agree with foxxer. The two polls, if indeed the next is Dungeon vs. Inferno, were practically decided from the start. They should've pitted contestants against each other of equal strength.
I'd loved to see a Sylvan vs. Dungeon matchup. Just like I would've like to see Sanctuary vs. Fortress.

No, they don't.
Besides they all are sitting underground behind closed gates, isolated from other nations, with king Tolghar in-charge. It will be another 120 years before they will be forced to play any role in Ashan history.
Elves were isolationsts in past too, but 100 years ago their king Vaniel died and his successor, Alaron, slowly opened borders.

The problem (and meanness) of this vote was to put Fortress vs. Sylvan. The result was very predictable because evne if one likes fortress, it is really probable they like sylvan more for a whole bunch of reasons.

I voted for Fortress, because in contrast to Sylvan, Fortress will be different from its previous iteration. I am much more intrigued how the line-up and gameplay of Fortress will be than which elves and fantasy creatures will inhabit Sylvan.

Except for the fact that the Dwarves have been outgoing untill the death of their previous King, who had been actively making war upon the Stag Duchy. Plus, there is still a lot enimity between the Dwarves and the Stags. Change is not that fast, especially for pigheaded Dwarves. On top of that, the outgoing Winterwinds never let Tolghar's closed borders stop them.

The only reason you're all so very compassionate with Fortress it's because the 1v1 vote is really emphasizing the faction. Imo, if it were a 2 out of 5 vote, no one would've even thought of Fortress as a real contestant. You might not agree with me but that's how I see it.
And let's be honest. They're doing the right thing. Giving the community the option to chose will very much boost the sales when the game's out. More people will just buy it for their favorite faction. And if this will get the enough funds, we'll see the other factions with expansions.
