Game of Thrones based Heroes VII?
About a week ago I read a wish/prediction that if there were a Heroes VII, it should have been based on Game of Thrones.
Apparently that wish was granted.
First, Haven has Direwolves(same as House Stark)
Second, Crossbowmen look alot like Lannisters(notice helmet shape and round pauldrons:
Heroes VII Crossbowman
Tywin Lannister in his armor(for round pauldrons)
Lannister Guardsman(for helmet)
Cavalry Armor is based on that of Ser Amory Lorch
(See their armor is of the same identical composition - plates with leather)
Heroes VII Cavalry
Amory Lorch (Season 2)
What do you think?

I think that medieval armors are the source of inspiration for those designs  .

I wouldn't mind a campaign hero getting stabbed in the back and replaced with a new one to play with once in a while.

I must say Lord_Immortals stattment is not completely out of place. All that "Wolf vs. Stag" thing is pretty gotish too (where is the lion duchy, though?  )

But seriously guys, because GoT is so overhyped right now (I'm not saying is not that good of course), I'm beginning to see a lot of "hey it's a GoT rip-off!" stuff around...

The designs are definetly not inspired in GoT, but i would appreciate a lot if the story of the game had some Game of Thrones aspects. Talking about that i must say how i feel sad when Ubisoft thinks that Heroes fans are all children. I loved the addition of blood in Heroes 5 and i thought they would start a more mature game, like Dark Messiah, but unfortunately it didn't happen.. Also, the story of heroes 6 was so childish, i would love so much a Heroes with some gore and heavy story, with more complex characters and bizarre moments, just like GoT

I think it should target both audiences, so that is accessible for children while meaningful enough for veterans to enjoy it.
Doesn't mean it has to be gore and bizarre for that

They tried something like that in Heroes IV and it was really annoying. Your carefully developed hero would suddenly die or betray you, the latter being even worse because you had to fight him later on in the campaign.

Yeah, when I saw the wolves, especially without the mention of Gerhart, I imagined they wanted some of that GoT hype, and the units do look kind of Lannister inspired.
Whether it was intentional or not, I like it, and these designs are universal enough to still fit into the world of Ashan.
