Don't think so. Their stories happen literally ages before Ivan's campaign begins.

Did anyone play the Necro campaign yet? I'm stuck in the second scenario. I killed everything and everyone and did all the quests. The only quest that is left is not to lose town and heroes.
I notice that there seems to be a purple player left somewhere and a part of the map in the north is not discovered yet. But I have no idea how to get there.
There is one red flag left which is shown on the mini map, but investigating that spot I found absolutley nothing.

It's a known bug. Try reloading the save with objectives still up, and then completing them in different order. The one that worked for me was - capture town, capture mines, get refugees, build Capitol. Otherwise you can download the cheat engine to progress further..

script tool map editor
I cant figure this out and i dont know where to find help on this tool. I want to add teks and create quests and events for my map. But whenever i add a link to a specific tekst or building. The scripting tool does not safe/remember what i do when i close the window. As if he can`t remember.
I`m a beginner with the advanced editor. But could you put me on the right track what i should do to make use of the scripting tool. I`ve read all there is to know on the easy mode help tool. But i`m stuck because the editor does not remember what i just did when i close the window. It says none or unspecified.
If anyone could help me out. I can start with creating my own maps.

Does H7 have sim turns like H5 ?
It wasnt in the FAQ.

It has sim turns, but not as in H5. Basically, when another player is in the combat, your game pauses until he is done.

I'm only seeing a few games being hosted, when the game is just released and everyone should be playing it. On top of it all, I can't play any of those games when I try to join them, even if their ping is low. (Most pings were 999 before I port forwarded). Sometimes their ping appears to be 1 or 6, and that's even too low for someone to be messing with. Something mischievous is going on.

Marzhin showed some scripts during Map Editor stream session. Maybe if you look close at his script you will figure it out? Same is for last Limbic stram. One guy (don't remember his name) created some script during this session and explained steb by steb what to do. He mentioned some important things like "you must do this otherwise script won't work". Chek it.

I watched the editor like 15 times and followed it to the letter. A clean install helped with the script tool saving issue. But things like importing portraits and creating your own maps in content browser when you add particle effects aint working. Still a saving issue probably.
I can`t get past (import failed) when i add my own painted portraits. And i did all things the same as Julien. (the right type of file and even dozens of different sizes with picasa and paint)

Does anyone have info about the magic system? Does it look anything like in HOMM3? Particulary, is there a real Town Portal spell with chooseable destination?

Partially correct. If the visiting Hero slot in that nearest Town with Town Portal is occupied, it will skip that Town and select the next nearest Town with a Town Portal available. Hence, you can "play" the system if you get enough Heroes to garrison in Towns, to pull them out when you don't want to teleport to that particular Town.

Interesting. I wonder if they meant to have it that way or not. Seems like more of a bother than anything, might as well let us select where to go.

It was intended. The H3 town portal was imbalanced with expert earth

The spell itself was not imbalanced as such. It was game-defining - or game-breaking, depending on your view - but that is something else imo. The fact that it did require Earth Magic was bad for balance, however, because some factions and classes had easier access to that skill, and furthermore was bad for gameplay, because it forced you to pick that same skill every single game. However, I feel people often neglect the huge (negative) impact it can have on certain game styles and certain map styles if there is no "proper" town portal option.

I can't believe this would be intended behavior... also I read somewhere that Town Portal does indeed work between top world and underground, despite it saying otherwise on the description. Haven't tested this myself though.

Caravans?
Well this may be a real dumb question, but for the life of me I can't figure out the procedure to create a caravan. I humbly ask the more enlightened to explain how to create caravans in MMH7. Thanx a bunch.
