Well, that post was an answer to Genya, it's kinda out of context this way

That may be true, but I also wrote something similar on the MMH7 blog to Galaad (I think), when the topic of him/them being invited came up out of the blue. And now that I see you mention it here as well, I focus on that, regardless of the original context .

I do believe the devs did a good job with this.

Now, back to Ashan then. I've been given to understand that Stronghold will get a Gnoll hero? It's interesting to see Fortress of H3 come back like that. I wonder, if Ashan remains among us, what more will they bring back from 'ye olde dayes of Heroes' in a new context?

In response to the 3rd question:

Roch: "I love beast-creatures, especially Beastmen, and my favorite faction was Academy, with badass Rakshasas and cute little Cabirs. But now, I prefer Stronghold. Stronghold had always nice line-up and orcs look great. I really like the return of Gnolls and their charismatic leader, Drākon, from H3. Stronghold screentown soundtrack please me a lot. It's an epic and instrumental music, without chant."

Dunno about you, but to me this sounds like Drakon will be in the Stronghold HoH.

Thank you, I must have missed that. It's good to see more evidence of minor races within faction getting heroic representation.

I suspect they are covering all (or most?) of the heroes faces so they can bring as many different races to the Hero roster as possible.

Which is a step up from covering all faces and still having everything being a human or elf.

It probably won't be as weird as in H3, where Drakon's model on the adventure map is a green Lizardman ...

I'm sure they will put one model for each hero class in H7, campaign heroes excluded (I hope).

I voted yes.

When I watched the interviews and streams where the ubisoft team talked about might and magic 7, they kept talking about "medieval fantasy". The "medieval fantasy" thing is what makes these games so boring. Heroes III for example feels very original Heroes 3 is not fantasy, its mythology.

Um.

Although my definitions might be a bit skewed, I thought Heroes 5-7 were more of high fantasy, and Heroes 3 was one of the medieval fantasy games. Mythology, since it's not really real, is quite fantastical. And that's not to say H5-7 doesn't have their fair share of our world's mythology too, mixed into their lore.

According to Wikipedia, Medieval fantasy can cover any range of medieval based high fantasy, up to and including fictitious history of our world. Anything from Warcraft and Legend of Zelda to Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire is medieval fantasy, supposedly, so if H3 doesn't fit somewhere in that range, then I doubt we've been playing the same games.

Actually, regardless of quality, Ashan is thoroughly way more mythical than the old universe, which actually gave us somewhat generic medieval kingdom, so Kaffe's argument is so wrong on so many levels... I suppose you can't help it when your avatar is a sheep.

He's the leader of the sheep. He probably reappears in Heroes VII and increases sheep production.

On so meny levels?! The new ubisoft games are probobly mythical, but they feel made up by the ubisoft team, and they have nothing to do whit mythology.
And Protolisk, My sheep and i disagree whit this "according to wikipedia" bullsnowt

Now you're talking as if it was NWC that invented mythology, lel. Frankly, even the Ancient universe didn't stick to its mythological origins - for example, there's an entire race of minotaurs, while in the classical Greek mythology, there was only one. You're making empty accusation about Ubisoft 'making anything up' in any other way...
