Inferno in homm7

In case we get Inferno as last faction, what kind of creatures would you like to see? I'd say Homm6 was a step in right direction and Inferno was much more intimidating than one in homm5.

Tormentors and Breeders especially, the more beastial demons get, the better. Albeit I didn't like maniacs, seemed like just demented burned humans :/

So which old units would you like to see or perhaps some new? For me I'd pretty much go with what we had in homm6 with exception of throwing out maniacs and succubuss.

Perhaps a different kind of theme for demons aside just fire/lava/chaos?

There are a lot of different units in Duel of Champions and a lot of them are really cool(even though a lot of people will probably disagree with me).

http://tools.mmdocking.com/cards?type=creature&faction=inferno

Here you can see a lot of them, and this one is my favorite unit from Inferno as I think that Demons should be like that, completely Chaotic with multiple Heads, Limbs, Eyes and Maws.

There are some more units, mostly different kind of Breeders with a lot of cool and different abilities, but site hasn't been updated for quite some time now.

Overall, I agree with you, the more beastly the Demons are the better! With maybe 2 out of 8 units having humanoid like body.

I will draw from several past games. I myself do not have the imagination to come up with completely new creatures, so i have little to go on. I shall do as best as I can.

Cerberus is a must, as is Succubus. These should likely stay as core. Pit fiend should also stay in. Breeder is pretty good. Imps as a normal unit, I feel, is as effective as Peasants. They could be a spawn of the Breeders in a spell like form, or I guess they can stay as ammo for Breeders.

My problem with H6 was the inclusion of three humanoid walkers, the Maniacs, the Juggernauts, and the Tomrentors. While the Maniacs were pretty bad all around, the Tormentors and Juggs were pretty good, but each included belittles the other. I prefer the Jugg, but I would like to see a fusion of the two: While the Jugg was a typical "horned demon" kinda thing, the Tormentor was pretty unique for a demon. What ever it is, it should become the "tank" of the core line, making Cerberus back into a speed unit (Why was it a tank in H6? I dunno)
I would like to add back Nightmares and Efreet. Both are interesting units. Nightmare could be mostly like it was in H5. Efreet however are a bit of a gamble. How would they differ from Djinn, beyond fire? One of my ideas is to sort of continue with the H5 alt-grades of that murky smoke and darkness producing units. Both the Nightmare and the Efreet could focus on this aspect of demons, using the darkness to instill fear for the Nightmares and the smoke to act as spell-like abilities for the Efreeti, but as to what exactly I do not know.

I was okay with Devils in H5/3, but, now with Pit Fiends being teleporting masters of hate and destruction, I don't know where Devils should go anymore. Do they deserve their place still, or are they obsolete? I liked the idea of the Abyssal Worms, but those seem to be a bit weak for a Champ spot. They were somewhere between battlefield effect and a campaign-ending boss in H6. Solidifying them in a "permanent place" would be good.

I liked the new units in H6 and the lack of the retarded looking Imps and Devils of H5 but I really would like Inferno to sit this one out. I am not entirely convinced the next poll will feature Inferno, would they invite a demon to the council? Or this vote will not be about the council at all?

Imps should be banned for future games as well, their " cutesy and innocent " look doesn't suits the demons.

I was glad they weren't presented in homm6.

I dont wan't efreeti either, i mean it's just a inferno's version of Djinn, has absolutely nothing to do with a faction of hell.

Recipe for successes= more beasts, less humanoids. Juggernauts were humanoids and were kinda stereotypical, but had a cool design.

I agree that tormentors and breeders are probably the best looking inferno units.

Might not be about the council at all actually. And while I know and support Demons are nihilistic beings of destruction, I know that they aren't all like that.

Remember to take a look at DoC cards (as RMZ said), Ashan Compendium and Elvin's H7 Faction Potential Direction thread in order to get an idea of how each faction could be in H7 (an idea, not the whole faction. New creatures can appear, like Magic Birds, Corwins, Root Snakes...)

Blargh. Some beasts are fine for Inferno, but the faction needs at least one or two additional humanoid demons on top of the succubi. I like to think of Inferno as satanic cultists leading an army of infernal beasts.

Tormentors and Breeders were too much "crazy" imo, if you know what I mean. I think they overdid it with the chaos on those two.

However Pit Lords and Juggernauts are fine, if they cut those melted rocks from their bodies.

I really hope Inferno makes it in line-up.

I looked at Ashan compendium again and the artwork is great (not refering to the troops - more the scenery).

To be fair, Inferno was in pretty much every game so far. Academy and Sylvan sat homm6 out, while dungeon came only in an expansion.

I guess it's possible that the demons will indeed sit this one out. Tho it will make me sad since they're my second fav faction aside dwarves.

I also hope not. With the loss of Dwarves, it'll be the only comforting faction with a help of Fire magic. Also, it hasn't been in every game, only in about half of 'em: H3, H5, and H6. It was kinda in H4, but I still count that as one full "death" town, as was in the name. (Even though Imps, cerberi, venom spawn and devils were all still alive...)

No, 4. Necropolis in IV had some infernal creatures. And I wrote " in pretty much ". No need to be a jerk.

I've always been a jerk lol
sorry it was just a bit baffling you tried to make a point out of the notion that Inferno has appeared more times than Academy, Preserve or Dungeon, when actually the exact opposite is true on all three counts

I would not mind having an abyssal lord as a champion. I mean he looks really cool.

But in Duel of Champions he is basically different version of Pit Lord(they both have same abilities) and Pit Lord in my opinion looks way cooler than those "remodeled" Devils.

If they make him completely different from Pit Lord, sure, but somehow I doubt that will happen. I just hope that we won't get Abyssal Worm as Champion unit, as they are Champion material according to Duel of Champions.

How about making him a champion spell caster? Throwing them fireballs everywhere! Still since factions will have two champion units I want the pit lord and Abyssal lord to be our champions.

Plus the pitlord broken sword with chains looks cool.

I wouldn't mind seeing abyssal worm as a champion unit, provided they get a bit more detailed design and get some cool abilities. As I said, the more bestial Inferno gets, the cooler it is.

And I don't really want devils back, they look way too stereotypical. Pit lords make for cooler champions.

Wish they already put Dungeon vs Inferno poll, instead we have to wait for another 10 days when this sylvan poll ends :/

Point is, Abyssal Lords are among largest of Demons of them all, with such huge bodies they won't be spellcasters for sure, we have Chaos Sorceress for that.

As I said, I agree with you about them being more beast-like, but Abyssal Worm really shouldn't be Champion in my opinion. It is just too plain and simple, I doubt they will put any interesting abilities on him and... it is a giant Worm god dammit.
