I was more thinking of this part:

Knowledge is Wizard’s true religion. Wizards do not view the Elemental Dragons as gods, but rather as the highest form of the spiritual beings. They are either metaphors for understanding and canalizing powers, or perhaps real entities that will eventually be comprehended given time.

I can see your point about the wizards not believing in the dragon gods. However, they certainly acknowledge that there is a certain power which can be canalized, so what would be their problem with a bird that does this?

But that damn blue chicken isn't . Goooo FURY !!!

Check again, we get golden/blazing red phoenix upgrade

Blue Chicken, Red Chicken, Yellow Chicken . It's still a chicken

Green humanoid #1, Green humanoid #2, Green humanoid #3, Green humanoid #4...they're all green humanoids!

With different look, abilities, roles and training. We already know why that argument is stupid.

Unlike Birds that will probably have very similar role and look, and the same problem was with Dragons in previous games. They weren't really different from each other except for the color and few abilities.

And how do you know that Magic Birds will have the same role than Phoenix? We know nothing about them aside from the name & artwork...and from the name you can expect to be very different from Phoenix.

Dragons, in H5, had only two families that had a similar look and ability spread, with a third looking very similar, yet dead. Both the Black and Emerald were re-colors, had a multi-square attack, and their alternative forms had more breath nonsense. The Bone dragon and its family just look the same, but they have more spell-like abilities, keeping them different. They looked different in color, but fit mostly the same role.

The Flame Dragon was a walker, and it had fire shielding, along with a area attack. Or a fire wall-attack. It was very different. It was a dragon unit, but it had a different role.

Yet two birds with one being completely unknown besides look are somehow soooooo similar.

H3 had two bird units. The Phoenix and the Thunderbird (different ranks). Were they so similar? Did they fit the exact same role? (it also had many Dragons looking similar)

H4 had two birds. Phoenix and Thunderbird (same tier rank). Were they so similar? Did they fit the exact same role?

H7 might have a phoenix and a "magic bird" (same tier rank). Will they be so similar? Will they fit the exact same role?

Well there's an easy way to solve all of this, drop the Moonix and give us back a proper Phoenix.

Drop the magic bird and replace it with garuda, make phoenix H3 like and make it neutral or give it to conflux (if possible in expansion).

Well as I see it, your argument here only goes to prove our concern, because one of the major complaints over H5 for years after was too many dragons - so yes, history DOES show that people don't like too many of similar units.

Like you say yourself, in H3, they were different levels and completely different entities, in that one was essentially magical in its origin (Phoenix, being on fire and all), while the other was an actually feathered bird (Roc/Thunderbird). H4 build on H3 so that was essentially the same for me.

With regards to birds in H7, I'm not averse to several birds in the game. I won't object one second if the Thunderbird makes an appearance - in Stronghold, or even in Academy (where I could see it fit just fine). But this "Magic Bird", which has no roots in mythology, has no roots in game tradition, and is then even depicted as some sort of blue flamy bird when we also have - or, at least at that time, had - a blue Phoenix? No thanx I say, and yes, I do think there's a world of difference between that and, say, a regular Thunderbird/Roc/Garuda.

Hell no to rocks/thunderbirds in stronghold! We already have stupid (half)birds already, harpies.

Phoenixes and Magic birds ( good god the name... ) should be enough.

most garuda statues are not bird,  but bird-man. and garuda is too indian, indian is different from arabian.  having two indian units is too many.

me£¿ oh I just think indian don't fit arabian style£¬they have a lot of differences.

I think Naga don't fit academy before h5 came out£¬I am glad they have their own faction.

so does rakshasa. I don't hate them but I think acadamy units should be more persian or arabian night
