"Giant dwarves" are a joke ofc. Yes, they look like dwarves, but they aren't. They're like reincarnated dwarves who became giants. New body, new powers.
And yeah, there's one single known human-sized Titan

There is no best and worst, each faction has its own unique style, strategy, pros and cons. At the end, it's a matter of taste.
I'm not fond of Stronghold. Too monotonous.

The last of those legitimately sounds like a line of collectible toys. I almost want to see them actually made.
(Tiny Giants, not so much. We already have something like that with Skylanders. )

You gotta admit, it does look funny tho to see giants in a dwarf town.

Na-ah. In Disciples Dwarves also had giants in their roster. And I don't remember someone to complain about it

I really don't get the hate against Inferno.
Yes, their mechanics may not be all that fleshed out
(they need better ideas for gameplay, which I have implemented in my Heroes 4 Greatest Mod - See Heroes IV subforum)
But they are necessary flavorwise!
They provide an evil opponent which is both imposing, fiery and opressive.
The Necropolis Nigromancers are cold and calculating.
The Dungeon Overlords are squishy and slimy.
But the Inferno Devils are just another type (and perhaps level!) of evil. They are needed to balance the "colder" aspects of undead and cave evil. They provide good scenarias for Evil-vs-Evil too! (Imagine a world torn between necromancers and Devils warring : P )
***
As for the more underrated, H3 Fortress was a really good concept with a lot in the "Lost City of Ancient Civilization" mood.
***
To me, the worst faction is Haven/Castle by far.
Why?
Too generic, no creativity... Soldiers, soldiers and more soldiers. And occasionally angel-like creatures.
Their mechanics like "healing" are also very boring as well.
The lineups from H3 forward seem like a contest of how many "Armored uniformed human with a weapon" you can fit into a single town.
Perhaps they are to provide a bland "vainilla" "one fits all feeling"; but even at this they are bad because too much "Shining Blinding Light of Everything Good and Heavenly".
The more medieval theme of H1 and H2 was much better IMO if you wanted a human-based faction. At least they had peasants.

I miss inferno the most in h7... Would buy this dlc IMMEADIATELY.
There is noc such evil faction like inferno in homm...
And who wants to be good, when i can go bad
I gave my wrong vote btw... Missread the survey
Wanted to read "which faction do you want to c most" insteat of "bad - worst", so -1 vote for inferno and +1 to academy (they just look... idk)

I feel like the poll is asking which of the current bland faction iterations is blandest.
Inferno simply deserves a recasting, away from its generic DOOM-inspired state..

Well, that's not what the first post says...
In any case, I agree H5 inferno style was kind of bad.
Heroes 4 had only half inferno (well, except for my mod)
But the Heroes 3 inferno was perfect. Not only was it moody and had a very "heretic" vibe to it (instead of just being "super buffed up muscle guys and beasts"), it also had some exotic components. Remember the chinese-style dwellings like Forsaken Palace and the Demon ones? Great town screen and music, plus the nice volcanic terrain in the game, you could even *feel* that was hell.
Only one little thing annoyed me, and it was that the upgraded Magog dwelling covered the Town Gate which is a much higher level unique building. If I ever mod H3, it will be to remove that problem : P
Although some russian guys already noticed it before, I wonder if they solved it lol

Actually they also fixed that issue in HotA; they simply added an elevation in the background, below the current Castle Gate, essentially raising it somewhat. That way, it appears above the Magog dwelling from the perspective of the Town screen.
Edit: Galaad beat me to the punch - with image, no less.

Nah, I had the topic open and got interrupted here, before I could post my reply. You had then since replied as well .

Haha sorry, well it's true that launching a h3 game, taking a pic, exiting h3, resizing it in PS, is much faster than launching h7 menu alone so it can be quite fast to illustrate when needed.

Thank the ancients (and the HoTA team) for that!
It annoyed me so much I would disable the upgraded Magogs in the custom map just to better see and be able to click the nice Castle Gate.
Now you can see stairs which go all the way down directly into the fiery moat, but being space devils probably they don't mind it. If anything they march to the gate directly from there lol.
