Inferno lineup

I think it's only fair to have a topic for Inferno too.

Personally I've been intrigued by some creatures like the Abyssal Worm, Pit Lords, the return of the Efreets and especially by the Arch-Devils which have been hinted with the Discover Inferno blog post.

What do you guys think? Could you sketch your lineup for Inferno?

What I want from Inferno:
Core:
1) DoC-style Imps. They're cool.
2) Succubi ofc. We need boobs shooters.
3) Cerberi. And I mean cerberi, 3-headed cool dogs. Ideally - the one from Groul's artwork from H5 era.

Elite:
1) Breeders. Yeah, I kinda liked them. And if they actually will have that "breeding" mechanic...
2) Some cool Demon. Look at DoC, there's plenty.
3) Efreeti/Nightmare. Still can't decide, both fit in perfectly and both are loved by people.

Champion:
1) That damn Abyssal Lord from DoC, in his true shape. That will be baddest Devil in Heroes.
2) Abyssal Worm. And it should eat enemies literally.
Yeah, no Pit Fiends. They're too good to be in the army, make them heroes/bosses. Eh, dreams...

Yeah, I do understand that Inferno in vanilla is a miracle, but I love making theories.

Can we bring back Gogs and Magogs? Also, I'd like to see Pit Fiends and Devils in the lineup, like in H5.

My lineup:

Core

- Imp/Familiar (melee, mana steal)
- Gog/Magog (range, fireball hit)
- Hell Hound/Cerberus (melee, immune to retaliation, 3-headed attack)

Elite

- Succubus/Lillim (range, flyer, range retaliation, Enthrall)
- Efree/Efreet Sultan (melee, flyer, fire shield, unluck ability/aura on enemy)
- Pit Fiend/Pit Lord (melee, caster, abyssal blade)

Champion

- Devil/Arch-Devil (melee, true teleport, teleport enemy, unholy presence)
- Abyssal Worm/Abyssal Devourer (melee, mind immunity, immune to retaliation, devour)

What I don't like is that I had to put the Pit Fiend one tier lower. But Arch-Devils and Abyssal Worms And there's also Ravagers, Hellsteeds... So much to choose from!

My Inferno line-up

Core:

Imp (ranged unit)
Cerberus
Wracked (temporary name. Randomly shifting Demons, tank units. Think Warhammer's Chaos Spawn, with graphics similar to the Breeder's- though melee)

Elite:

Succubus (with an alternate Incubus form)
Efreet
Infernal Worm (smaller versions of H6's boss- lore-wise can be explained as its spawn) OR Chaos Knight/Hell's Champion (Nightmare-riding, Demon-possessed human knights. At first was against them, but then I saw Stevie's awesome picture)

Champion:

Pit Fiend
Devil

1. About Nightmares: I think Nightmares wouldn't fit in the same line-up with Efreet, unless they're on different tiers. Reason is that both are fast melee units, though the Efreet also flies and quite possibly will cast spells. About moving Efreet to Champion, and maybe making Pit Fiends Elites (alongside Nightmares and Succubi): I think Dungeon (with Faceless) and possibly Academy (I would switch the places of Arcane Birds and Djinns) should be the only factions with Champion-tier spellcaster units.

2. About the too-much humanoids problems- I think it's kinda solved with this line-up. We've got 4 humanoid demons (Imp, Succubus, Efreet and Devil), 2 "beasts" (Cerberus and Worm), 1 "blob" (the Wracked) and 1 "balrog" (the Pit Fiend).

We need to retaliate against these purple dudes.

Here are my suggestions.

Core:

Maniacs (Love these guys, especially the Hellfire Maniac)
Succubi/Imp Archer (We need a shooter after all, the imp is a reference to the article)
Tormentors (Always thought that they belonged to this tier, and I think they would do a great job)

Elite:
Breeders (Let's face it, breeders are epic, I expect them to be more blobby, and consequently more disgusting)
Efreeti (At first I didn't like the idea, then I thought about it, they deserve to be in the game)
Juggernauts (We need a tank unit, or kind of)

Champion
Pit Lord ('nuff said)
Arch-Devil (Also 'nuff said)

Well yea, and many other creatures weren't mentioned either. But Efreeti do exist in Ashan, as revealed with DoC. I'll put the Abyssal Worm art here too.

What are Genies in the Ashan universe again?
The Efreets would most likely be similar to that, only opposite if that makes any sense.

Prime creatures summoned from the spirit realm by wizards, if I'm not mistaking.

Edit: Also can be tainted by void magic. So their nature can change.

That would be a line up I would like.

Something like this for me as well.

Cores
-Imp(small melee flyer, quite fast), upgrade Familiar(mana drain)
-Hell Hound(melee, a bit more tanky, average speed), upgrade Cerberus(three-headed attack, immune to retaliation, high speed)
-Succubus(ranged attacker), upgrade Lilim(puppet master)

Elites
-Hell Stallion(very fast melee, fear attack), upgrade Nightmare(immolation aura)
-Breeder(tanky, slow, ranged unit, no melee penalty), upgrade Hellfire Breeder(burning attack, can spawn Imps from dead Inferno units)
-Horned Demons(average speed, bulky, Lava vomit-cone attack), upgrade Horned Leapers(leap attack)

Champions
-Pit Fiends(melee, teleportation(fast flyer), hateful retaliation), upgrade Pit Lords(frenzy attack)
-Elder Demons(melee, average speed, teleport other), upgrade Arch Demon(Mark of Chaos-all units' attack automatically crit on marked target)

Imp's design should be like in DoC, small flyers, I like Hell Hounds and Cerberus in H6, but Cerberus really needs third head. Succubus design should be closer to H5 as I am not really fond of those stereotypical women with horns and wings.

About elites, Breeders should stay the same, Nightmares from H5 of course, Horned Demons would be something between those from H5 and Juggernauts.

Pit Lords would stay the same as in H6 as they were amazing and probably my favorite H6 unit by far. Arch Demons would be those from H5 but more brutal, combining their design with something from H6.

Colors would be grey, black and red with some parts made of smoke and fire.

This is just one of my examples from the head, but I could get at least few more lineups.

I support this. Great line up. I'd personally change minor details, but overall it's amazing.

quick question: what would "unholy presence" be? Unless it's an actual ability that's in the previous game and I just missed it.

i agree with stevie's line up. succubus must be an elite.
as for the efreet i like the idea of an inferno spirit but i don't like it's design of efreet, being a corrupted djinn.
but a demonic spirit would be cool.
what about a human troop? someone being corrupted and half possessed or a possessed one? i know it sounds like disciples, but inferno line up does need a little diversity.
so

core
imp
cerberus
magog

elite
succubus
pit lord
how about a stone/lava/ash demon/warrior/spirit?

champion
abyssal worm
arch devil

Well, I left it at that because it can take various forms and shapes (I don't think it's an actual Heroes passive). But it's mainly an aura that decreases stats of enemies and increases stats of allied demons that are around the Arch-Devil. I was thinking about initiative more than anything, but could be more than that. Or something else entirely, depending on what you imagine it to be.

Basically the Devil pulls an enemy near him with "teleport enemy" and he receives debuffs, then demons come from behind to kill it and they receive boosts as they are near the Arch-Devil also. That's roughly what I had in mind.

abyssal worm is out of the demon-box.
how about another unit that it's not demon but something demonic? efreet is one choice. but what if we could think of a unit making use of  ash, lava and stone?

No, Genies are in fact Magic Elementals. The ascention of the 7th Dragon created a whole new elemental plane, that of pure magic. Djinn are the elementals of that. But they are also non-elemental by nature since pure magic is that as well.

As for Inferno Line-ups, as long as Cerberi are in I don't realy care.
