There are so many conspiracy theories about what goes on there and the ISIL, that I don't even want to start.

Turkey shot down a Russian jet fighter in Syria. At this point it's neither clear if the jet was shot from the ground or by another jet, nor if it has trespassed the Turkish airspace.

Turkey greatly fuc*ed up by doing this, and shows where they really bred from. There is "violating borders" and "violating borders while fighting against terrorism".

Also it is shocking how even in France, there are lots of "Well done for Russia, Turkey is not Ukraine" reactions, we reached the abysses of the brainwashing.

Russia insists that the Turkish border has not been violated and the jet was several kilometers inside Syria.

Apparently the the plane did fly into Turkish airspace (contested zone between Isis and Turkey lol) but it was pursued and eventually shot down inside Syria. This is a declaration of war not only against Russia but Syria too.

Turkey supports the largest amount of forces to NATO so definately has leverage, but they definately bit off more than they can chew this time.

The Syrian border is non-existent as some sovereignty enclosure ever since half of the NATO members decided that they can freely bomb everything they see fit inside of Syria. There will be no war just because of that but things are bound to become much ****ier than they already are.

AKP's main position is considering seperatist PKK variants more dangerous than ISIS to Turkey's interests. The two are fighting in the border. If you ask me, personally, I would even prefer an independent Kurdish State instead of being a neighbor to the Islamic State but it gets more clear everyday AKP doesnt see it that way and I'm sure their Islamic background also plays a part in this.

Last time Erdogan visited Moscow, he said "it looks like Asad is going to remain in power for a little longer" but I guess, they did some NATO talk with the US during the G-20 summit a week ago.

Zenofex is right, this certainly doesnt mean a new Turkish-Russian war, but things will get much more tense now.

So, the Russians keep claiming that their jet hasn't violated the Turkish airspace while NATO says that it violated it for "17 seconds" and that it was warned "10 times" before finally being shot down. The bull**** starts to pile up again, how the hell do you warn somebody 10 times in 17 seconds?!

Probably in advance that the plane is getting close to turkish border, and that it should change it course or something like that i guess.

I wonder how that "warning" works then - 1 centimetre inside the border and you're target? It's not like the planes can change direction in split second. The jet ultimately crashed on Syrian territory so maybe the pilots were warned and maybe they even tried to turn around. At this point however it looks like whoever fired was incredibly trigger-happy or the whole "warning" stuff is the usual hogwash going along with such "incidents".

This is a blow on the Russian air force reputation though. Shows the whole world how easy it is to shoot them down.

Turkey shot down the Russian plane because Putin has been bombing Turkmen in Syria who are fighting the Syrian dictator. Turkey knows it gets a freebe attack on the Russians because Turkey can invoke Article 5 with NATO.

An air space violation for a few seconds did not warrant the shootdown.
