Heroes of Might and Magic, a music tutorial thread by Galaad
Greetings Heroes lovers of King & Romero's music !!
Here is a tutorial about Heroes of Might and Magic musical themes to do on piano. I focus these tutorial on their accessibility, and try to make them as easy and understandable as possible so that it could be the very first thing you'd play on the piano !

Heroes of Might and Magic III - Main Menu Theme
Part 1 : Bass
First, we need to get the bass line with our left hand, playing on times 1 and 3.
Part 2 : Melody
Then, we will play the main theme melody with the right hand.
Practice both hands separately until you feel comfortable.
Part 3 : Bass + Melody
Now let's try to put both hands together.
Sounds already pretty nice huh ? =)
You can practice at the speed you're comfortable at and then progressively increase it. It should result in something like this :
Part 4 : Bass + Chords
Let's have a look at the harmony now, I will play bass line on times 1 and 3 and chords on times 2 and 4.
Part 5 : Bass, Chords + Melody
Finally, we put it all together.
Congratulations, you know play the fully harmonized H3 Main Menu Theme ! Remember to work slowly at first, and increase progressively the speed. At the end it should sound like this :

When's the last time that piano had a good tweak? A couple of the notes sounded just a wee bit off but I gotta say...I am going to enjoy as it is, very much today.
I feel some pencil-landscape-action is in order today.

ps I wonder; has anyone ever made their own Music Mod for H2 or H3? Mp3 makes it a breeze to switch versus that clunky stuff in H5. Prawly sew. ____________

Btw, Markkur, anything on Youtube, you can download and convert to mp3. There are dozens of freeware programs and even sites that do it on-line from your browser. Just google it, in case you need mp3 of a Youtube music video.
