Miriam is very good as a main hero in higher levels, she can see half the map, okay I exaggarate a bit, but she is good.
She is really meant to be more than a scout with that speciality and as a lowly scout she won't benefit from that nice speciality.

Yes, she is very good. She's my favorite hero to use Grotto but you don't get the best of her if you use her to fight the map or attack enemy heroes, you get it by retreating from neutrals, attacking main enemy heroes to learn about what they truly have (if you don't have Visions) and then fleeing, and basicly by sending her where no smart player goes with an army he can't afford to lose.
So, everytime I rehire her in a Cove I sacrifize everything I can to make her better but I don't want her involved in fights she can't win with seven Oceanids, Sprites or Hobgoblins, a cannon and an ammo cart. Did you got my idea?

Yeah I guess so, but I also like her as a main hero taking most of the army with her. Of course Corkes and Jeremy are also good, actually almost all Cove heroes are good, not many bad skills or specialities, unlike most of the other towns.

I think what shines in Cove is how adequate some heroes are to some functions. Until now I think Corkes is the ONLY Cove hero fit to be main and I would go for Crag or even Gundula instead, if they were in tavern first day but Jeremy, Anabel and most of all Cassiopeia excel at clearing the map and Miriam at exploring it.
The habit of having different heroes specialized in different tasks is something I got playing WoG and I'm glad to see some expert developers agree with me.

It would be nice if the third upgrade for pirates would only be allowed for the campaign hero in cove. A third upgrade just doesn't feel right in HoMM3 and goes into wog territory IMO.

Meh, in my opinion the third upgrade is what makes Cove unique (and OP), so if you want SoD then just play it.

I thought it was the whole pirate theme and cannon that did but sure I guess.

Yes, cannon too. The pirate theme is cool but in what is any different then Transilvania Town for WoG or some of the amazing towns already existing in VCMI.
About cannon btw, is it Jeremy any different from Pire or is just the war-machine they come with that is different? Cause I got Gurnisson the other day and he was doing allright, couldn't compare to Jeremy tough, cause he was one of the enemy's heroes.

Another purposal, how about an external Dwarven Treasury? The first one to visit it gets 10% extra gold by the end of the week. I think it fits the Warehouse theme.

I agree with this and Sea Dogs are way better than any other level 3 unit, so this would hold them back a little.

Graal in Conflux didn't feel right in AB, moat damage didn't seem right in official addons (comparing to Tower one-work landmines), special heroes (Gelu f.e.) didn't seem right, Thunder's Bolt didn't seem right and so on.
Cove's third upgrade is fine retro tribute do Homm2's third upgrades.

I want to restate my proposal for an external Dwarven Treasury, revisitable every week.
It would have a curious dinamic, cause while visiting Warehouses and Water Weels loses importance as you get a more steady income these one's gain it. In a week where you visited one you have interest in acumulating money, while in any other you would be better spending it on creatures and dwellings.
Personally I like these kind of shifts in the way you define your gamming strategies.

Is it possible to mod in the ability to access the spellbook more than once per turn in combat? If so, giving magic heroes the ability to cast two times per turn could be a good way to give them a boost compared to might heroes.

I have a simple suggestion that might work.

Show the location/coordinates of seer huts at the quest log. Im just playing on an G map and it takes a long time to find them after a while. I had about 10 and it takes a lot of time to find the right one. You either have to right it down or have a good memory...I don't.

About Seer's Huts, I think I found out why artifacts frequency seam so strange in my games, I think Twenty Five Huge creates too many Seer's Huts, so thee are too many artifacts unique on each map.
Is there a way to avoid to create Seer's Huts?

Some idea comes into my mind:

new artifacts

Necklace/medal/pendant 1st.: immune to slow
Necklace/medal/pendant 2st.: opponent unable to cast haste

If these are too OP then alternative

you and your opponent unable to cast haste/slow

New spells inspired by Magic the Gathering (boost up fire and water magic a bit):

Water lvl 5 spell: Time walk: Cast on a creature
effect: creature stack move/hit a target-target hit back, then creature stack able to act again, hp full and "resurrected" if its lost some.

Water lvl 5 spell: Flood/Cunami: cast on battlefield on target hexa.
effect: from that hexa line, effect goes through the battlefield and damage creatures in its way

Fire lvl 5 spell: Time stop: cast during combat
effect: combat turn immediately ends, creatures didn't acted yet they skip their turn, new turn starts

The proposals I announced at the HotA Thread I'm writing here:

[Upgrades/Degrades of AB Neutrals]
Bandit - De-grade of Rogue. Hoodless cloak, shorter swords, covers chin with a scarf.

Mummy - De-grade of the current Mummy(to be renamed to Royal Mummy). No crown and a straight staff without ornaments.

Bedouin - Upgrade of Nomad. Full head covering turban, black steed and longer scimitar.

Forester - De-grade of the sharpshooter. No hood, brown instead of black armor and longbow instead of composite bow.

Spellcaster - De-grade of Enchanter. No "moon" and no ornaments in clothes.

War Troll - Upgrade of the Troll. Has leather armor and ram head club, in like M&M 8.

[New Neutrals(and upgrades of new neutrals)]
Faun - White upgrade of Satyr

Fishman - Level 1 neutral. Like this

Giant Arachnids - Level 2 neutrals:
Black Spider - Big Black Spider.
Giant Scorpion - Biger yellow Scorpion.

Mermaid - Level 2 Neutral. No upgrade.

Tritons - Level 4 neutrals:
Triton - Like M&M 8 teal one but with a simple trident and no armor.
Triton Myrmidon - Triton Upgrade. Like M&M 8 blue one, with a gilded trident and greek breastplate.

Dark Elves - Level 4 Neutrals:
Dark Elf - Looks like M&M 8 dark elf but with black leather and mail and simple two handed sword.
Black Guard - Looks like M&M Dark Elf Defender but with Helmet.

Aboleth - Level 5 Neutral. Looks like this

Chimera - Level 5 Neutral. Lion with goat horns and beard and a snake-like tail from which breathes fire.

Jabberwocky - Level 6 Neutral. I found this yesterday and I thought - It MUST be in Heroes III.

I don't know if they will be considered, or even seen by the HotA team... but I'm still posting them. I really hope someone with the adequate skill, enough time and goodwill tries to realize them. If anyone has contacts with the HotA team, please send these to them. I know it's a lot of work but I think the result will be worth it.

pretty cool creature addition ideas, lord.

the "fishman" you suggest is actually a "deep one", from lovecraftian mythos(as the "fangarm" is actually a "cthulhi" from the same mythos). i'm currently substituting recolored versions of the murlocs and abyssal murlocs from the "abyss" town for my own "deep ones"(once i learn 3d, i'll be making my own, though). i'm also working on making my own "r'lyeh", and the city that the deep ones dwell in. i've been gathering all kinds of ideas and graphics, to make "r'lyeh". it will be a hell of a task(being that the architecture is ancient, alien, and built as optical illusions/impossible architecture by design), but it's one thing i'm quite interested in, currently.

Yes that was the idea - deep ones. I did not consider the Abyss town Murlocs, though. I do not like how ripped units look in Heroes 3.

ripped from where? i remember seeing unknown avatars of Abyss' murlocs somewhere on the net, but i believe it was from a card game. if there are other awesome creatures that are able to be made into homm3 creatures akin to those, i would like to know where i can find them.
