What if this chimera is an animated statue? Then the polygons make sense. They suggest rigidness and human labour (when they sculpted the statue).

It's raw material. Can't you see the polygons?

HotA's content is generally much more polished.

No matter raw or not. If it can be played, then i like HOTA team to release these materials, so we can make Cathedral on our own

Regardless if it's an animated statue or not, it doesn't fit the style. Even the Stone Golems who are the true animated statues correspond with the general game creature concept.

Yeah, you'll make your own Cathedral... and mess up another castle idea forever.

Well that's another problem - when people start the project not knowing if they'll ever make it to the end.

I would recommend you to collaborate with someone rather than take others' work without a proper treatment and claim it your mod. Good things cannot be made by a single man.

There are a lot of discoveries in human history made by single men.
I what's in claiming oneself mod? Who did it did it, right?
We are talking about mods, althrough. Modders don't do all from scratch by definition.

However, they had a different approach than "we call it beta cuz its beta than nothin'".

In the sphere where we all work for free and for personal/community entertainment, the only value is the credit to people who made the work before you and thus made your work easier. Don't forget to keep that in mind.

and i dont see how is that your problem. it's his decision [of starting even 100 mods at once] changing the course of your life? i dont think so.

also, many other previous modders used others' work and even official content of real companies and nobody said anything about that.

now i dont know how active our moderators are, but try to keep on topic, after all he just wrote down his whishlist [topic name]. dont pick up on him just because he's Macron1. it's his right to try to ask for def files and start 100 mods.

Except Macron1 has been generally condescending towards the HotA project, not leaving many opportunities to claim VCMI is better than HotA, and down-talking HotA stuff. It's then rather bold to almost demand unused source material from them for usage in VCMI.

Where I demanded material for usage in VCMI? I asked for sharing source material with community, that's all. You want to say, that HOTA must fear VCMI, right? It's totally different platforms. HOTA is closed and not moddable, VCMI is open-source.
There is no way, that current Cathedral stuff will get in HOTA, so it's almost reasoned to share these materials with community to avoid this works to go to the void.

Yet HOTA is FREE. You don't pay for it, they don't owe you the source material, this doesn't make them Apple or Microsoft. The rest of your saying is no more than speculation.

VCMI also uses a lot of graphics from WoG, which unfortunately means a lot of the extra stuff they use kind of breaks the atmosphere since the graphics don't really fit with H3. That isn't a problem for HoTA, because every extra object is greated from scratch by people with a good eye for what fits and what doesn't.

Ah, eternal useless conflict between wog, vcmi and hota and everyone jumping to give his pointless opinion.

Hopefully we have them all: without wog hota today would have no one to play on, people would have quited heroes 3 since long time. Then vcmi can add extra data in no time, while hota struggled for 6 years. Then wog graphics are terrible -I agree, but they were meant only to demonstrate and support scripting language. While with hota graphics you have to play the way THEY see the game, and you can shove off if you want the slightest modification, even text files are encrypted. Because of hota everyone starting on a project will now need to pay much more attention to graphics, and this is a good thing, Hota is inspiring and rewarding. Then vcmi is so complex project that it may never be finished.

Then vcmi and wog have a totally different purpose than hota, they are NOT expansions and they offer absolute graphical/mechanics freedom to anybody wishing to create his own project, so saying vcmi breaks "atmosphere" is ignorant, sorry.

You gotta start somewhere... with Cathedral concept as good as discarded, they could at least bring this unit as a neutral. Of course it requires some polish, but I definitely like it's design and the rest should be build upon it (for instance it's rear legs are "a bit" unnatural)...

Plus, as far as the Cathedral concept goes, I'm not that great of a fan. It doesn't quite fit into Heroes III imo. While I like the dark tone of the faction I think it collides too much with the rest of HIII setting. Plus It's too one-dimensional. Aside from the said Chimera and maybe that Reaper/Angel of Death most units are variations of inquisition attire and various "tormentors" straight from some kind of a torture chamber. More unit variation would definitely help here.

Marc propositional wish list

I quote him cause i find his idea brillant.

Filter spell type

New filter: you can choose the level of magic in a map, only adventure spells.

None: no spells in adventure map.

Basic: Visions, summon/scutlle boat, disguise, view air/earth.

Advanced: same as basic plus Town portal and water walk.

Expert: same as advanced plus dimension door and fly.

My Propositional wish :

HotA Banks

A nice work has been done with the bank creatures ! i m asking if it s possible to improve map making (as marc propositional) in splitting the event of creatures bank between difficulty (lower difficulty bank and higher difficulty). Graduate the map exploration with 2 different type of bank creature trigger, the first one contains for example imp cache, crypt, .. the second is harder and contains for example, the conservatory.

Swamp movement cost

pathfinding no 175%
pathfinding basic 150%
pathfinding advanced 125%
pathfinding expert 100%

Even if it fit to the race, i m asking how it can be so high.

Cost of surrending

Actually cost of surrending is "Unit cost gold * Number of Unit / 2"
In other terms, the price to surrender is equal to the real cost value gold of your army (indeed, you lost half of your gold ressources and your opponent earn the half).
In other terms, it sn t cost effective cause it s exactly as you have to hire again the same army.
I guess HotA won t do it cause they think it as a drastic change, in my mind i don t think it change the game so it sn t really a wish - paradoxically.

AI automatic battle button / Buy all / Upgrade all (WoG)

For Fastest Multiplayer game.

Bank guards are directly related to thei treasure value. Fixed guards depending on difficulty will make random maps unplayable. Now you can't, for example, attack full Conservatory quickly, but can try Conservatory with 50 Griffins to get 1 Angel. This allows nice progress in army development and also requires skill in hero management.

Still got to face the fact that HotA's graphics are made for the game, not ripped from some other company's title like with WoG and VCMI. It shows too, HotA is much more immersive because you aren't constantly being caught off-guard by the dissonances.

Tkx for replying, Excuse me i don t use often the shakespeare langage.

I wanna talk about 2 different type of "trigger" which represents the banks. For example, the imp cache or crypt would owe to the first low difficulty bank. The conservatory would owe to the second "trigger". it s for graduate the map exploration.
