So...It means that by the end of the existence of that world within the expansion of 'Shadow of Death'

Shadow of Death takes place between HoMM2: Succession Wars and begining of HoMM3: Restauration of Erathia. It's prequel to H3.
Game leading to HoMM4 was 8th chapter of Heroes Chronicles - Sword of Frost.

the survivors used some sort of an interstellar vortex like Dimensional Door way to the world of Axeoth. Axeoth would be the world where Heroes 4 initially started from, right? Pretty much like the Eternian self proclaimed masters of the universe get to use to travel from one world to another.

It wasn't Enrothian who "used some sort of an interstellar vortex":
Jennifer Bullard said:
Q: What caused the opening of the portals during the Reckoning? Were they opened by a Guardian?
A: The Guardian opened the portals. We wanted to wash a lot of the history away from the old world and needed a mechanism to do so.

Q: Was the Guardian (who opened the portals) Corak (from Might and Magic VII ending), Melian (from Might and Magic VI) or someone (something?) else?
A: It was Corak - it is always Corak.

If you interested, here is full interview with her.

BTW: Is it true that, Ashan is so far away from both of these, above mentioned, worlds; that this world's initial lore and stories are purely made up, entirely, from first scratch of one's story-telling creators? I personally think that it is so.

No, it's not true.
Ashan is other universe - it doesn't have any connection to old one... for now at least.
There are hints (or rather easter eggs) that are trying to connect Ashan uniwerse and NWC uniwerse - generally Ashan and local space is "encircled" by Void. No one knows what lies beyond the void...
Some says there are other worlds there, even flat ones.

Nice analogy. The picture is indeed awefully shaky. But the style of it seems to resemble the sort of outline-concepts which we've already seen to a tee.
And what's a good conspiracy without shaky/blurry visual footage.

@Avonu: You are way more lost than I'll ever be.

HoMM2 had only one expansion and, do not care to remember its name. In the world of Enroth.

HoMM3 had 2 expansions over R.o.E. v.1.0. 1st was Armaggeddon's Blade at v.2.0 and, 2nd was S.o.D(Shadow of Death) at v. 3.0 + 1 patch that led it to v.3.1. In the world of Antagarich. Year 2000 version of 4.0: HoMM3 Complete.

Chronicles Series are a totally separated from the Might and Magic: Heroes Series. Does not correlate to each of them.

Both games were made by New World Computing and distributed by 3DO.

Might and Magic Heroes 4 had 2 expansions also. 1st called The Gathering Storm at v.2.0 and, 2nd called The Winds of War. Still the same developer of New World Computing and distributed by 3DO.
Later on, the first expansion of Gathering Storm got a major upgrade to version 3.0 and, the same for the vanilla game all the way to version 3.0 as well. By the end of the existence of both NWC and 3DO, we all ended up with 3 whole games of Heroes 4 at version 3.0.

A new world called Ashan was created anew by Nival Interactive when contracted through Ubisoft's new acquisition of the franchise before 3DO went under. The New game was then called Might and Magic Heroes 5 v.1.0 in Spring of 2006(got patched later on up to 1.6). In Spring of 2007, the first expansion of such game called Hammers of Fate v.2.0(patched to 2.1)was released. In the light of a new generation of an Operating System for PC, Windows 6.0(Vista), the second and, also stand alone, expansion of MMH5, was called: Might and Magic Heroes 5: Tribes of the East at version 3.0(patched to 3.1). Everything was perfectly made by Nival and world wide marketed + shipped-distributed by Ubisoft.

I thought that I needed to refresh your young mind on how things happened for the past 17 years(1997 to 2014). Did not include MMH6 and its lone expansion for personal reasons that do not need to be discussed, here, on these forums.

Price of Loyalty, which was created by Cyberlore, not NWC itself.
World and continent and kingdom were called Enroth.

The world is still Enroth.
Antagarich is a continent name. This name first appered in Armageddon's Blade. Before that, H3 continent was called Erathia (in MM6, MM7 and in H3:RoE).

LucPatenaude said:

First at all, the series is called Heroes of Might and Magic. Period.
Ubisoft can try to change its game names to MM:X, but Heroes1-5 are Heroes of Might and Magic (yes, even Ubisoft's Heroes 5).

Second, Heroes Chronicles are related to Heroes 3. They take place on Antagarich throughout ca. 1000 years - from very past, where we see fall of Bracaduun and rise from its ashes kingdoms of Erathia and Bracada, through liberation of mudlands and rise of Tatalia (which means "community"), to events after Armageddon's Blade, where we see aftermatch of conquering Nighon by Mutare and events leading to intro of Heroes 4 (with conclusion of Gelu with Armageddon's Blade itself stories).
Author of Heroes Chronicles stories and Heroes 4 campaigns was the same - Terry Ray.

Now to the point: while Shadow of Death was 2nd expansion to Heroes 3, it tells about events taking place between Heroes 2 and Heroes 3: Restoration of Erathia. It's a prequel to Heroes 3 campaign, not a sequel to Armageddon's Blade campaign.

More ever, if you want to fallow overall games plot, and know what has happened to heroes and world after each game, you must play games in this order:
Heroes 2 -> H3: Shadow of Death -> Might and Magic 6 -> H3: Restoration of Erathia -> Might and Magic 7 -> H3: Armageddon's Blade - > Might and Magic 8 -> Heroes Chronicles: Clash of Dragons -> Heroes Chronicles: Sword of Frost -> Heroes 4 / Might and Magic 9

*sigh*
Ashan was created by Ubisoft - by Jeff Spock and Erwan Le Breton (he is credited as world coordinator), not by Nival. Nival tried to incorporate some lore from Heroes 4, but it all was scrapped by Ubisoft and started from zero.
Ubisoft created Ashan as new start without ties to previous games - as they never ever existed. Not only they created new world called Ashan (BTW - continent of Ubi's games is called Thallan) but they created their own universe.
This is separate universe like... well, like different universes in Marvel (Ultimate and 616 for example) or DC comics or like in Star Trek and "J.J. Abrams" Star Trek.
Also, as I said, Heroes 5 is named Heroes of Might and Magic 5 (if you want, I will post you picture of game box).

Thanks, but I really remember in which order game were released and how you should play them, if you want to know gameworld plots.
And if I really want to read article on Wikipedia I would went there.

Ubisoft is a Publisher not a Developer of any kind.

Just go ahead: with that insult of using a box picture. I have the original box right in front of me, right now. Dummy.

Might and Magic in small with a huge Heroes V(5) and a well fitted description of the name of the expanded game of Tribes of the East right in between the H and the V. An Orc Hero pointing at the background picture of a fully developed city of the Orcs-Stronghold with a bloodied one sided sword.

Big T for Teen as for the ESRB and, a box at the bottom explaining that this product is a Standalone Product-No Previous Heroes Games Required To Play!

BTW: At the very top of the box, PC DVD ONLINE(means that it is multiplayer capable) and, at the extreme right, PC DVD ROM.

Any other smart-ass comments you want to make to a rightful owner of all of these DVD published games, huh?

@Avonu: You are right on these extremely obsolete titles.

Sorry about the previous flaming.

Unfortunately, I still do not see my own box cover on that picture of yours. I do remember owning the one on the center the third one that are both the vanilla and the first expansion of Hammers of Fate v.2.0.

You actually been foolish enough to buy the Gold Edition of Heroes V! You must be one crazy person. Unless, you are crazed about the campaigns and, money is not a problem.

The way I saw everything in perspective, at that time: Do not need the complete(gold) edition, already have the previous 2 titles.

Must be the laziness of the rich and careless, again. For having the insane ambition of getting the Gold Edition. I did not, even, bother getting the complete edition of Heroes 4, either.

Let me guess, you even have the whole collection of the Chronicles, also. You, are, officially, literally insane.
