Still, Trolls have no reason (as far as I have seen) to be described as rock throwing, and in fact their corpse is rocky, so I dunno about throwing around their dead family members. Where at least a cyclops did throw rocks around mythologically speaking.
All stones aren't trolls. And regardless I'm sure they would be okay with it.

It should also be noted that said cyclops was exceedingly bad at hitting anything.

As long as the creatures are careless and heartless, the better.

The mauler has already been classified as an orc that has not been fully trained for war, just yet.

Wyvern prefer swampy jungles or shallow mountain side caves but, it could be implemented if, you include a background setting of the town screen showcasing the nearby hills and rocky slopes of the barren areas that orcs prefer living in.

Goblins of all kinds are a true no-brainer and, the orc females should come back as natural spells casters with an amazonian physique that could kill the warm bloodied enemy creatures by just looking at them from afar.

Definitely needs a shooter unit and, the large, mythical, Troll is totally perfect for it is the, almost, nastiest creature, that orcs can include into their own line-up of troops. Plus, adding a melee attack that includes the ability to lift the many types of obstacles that are currently on that battlefield to use as an attempt at, literally, crushing the enemy to smithereens in one overwhelming smash down type of an obliteration like blow. The rocks they throw could be seem as the same size as their own throwing hand.

The flying unit should be the equivalent of a magical bird that pretty much has a large, very tough set of feathers with an armored head and beak. Pretty much like the Battle Griffins used to look like in Heroes 5: T.o.t.E.

The Cyclops is a definite choice of mine for the Champion unit. The Battle Elephant could be a Champion unit, also but, for expeditions only, though.

I expect to see a fresh twist in Stronghold's lineup. Few old-new units and new roles for our favorites.

Desert Stronghold

Strengths:
Good stats (high attack and hp).
Good morale.

Weakness:
Only 1 (possibly 2) ranged creatures.

CORE

Goblin Jester -> Goblin Quack
Role: Support
Description: f you're week and cowardly and want to survive in a society praising only might there is only one way to survive. Be useful. Make fun and don't pose a threat. Goblin Jesters mimic wizards and practice basic magic. Sometimes called Shamans, Goblin Quacks know how to use simple magic tricks to support their allies.
Abilities: Upgrade: Half-Blood Luck – increase luck of friendly creature.

Gnoll -> Gnoll Raider
Role: Damage
Description: Once, gladiators on sky cities' arenas, now free people roaming deserts and hunting down caravans. Tradesmen of Seven Cities have no nightmares but one, the one full of gnoll yelp.
Abilities: Yelp – activated ability. Target enemy unit to decrease its morale. Upgrade: Pack - Extra 20% damage if adjacent to another friendly unit.

Harpy -> Harpy Hag
Role: Damage
Description: Harpies were one of the most beautiful beastmen created by wizards. Only mermaids could compete with them in beauty, but everything have changed when beastmen rebellion started. Free harpies from Sahara Desert disfigure themselves as a sign of contempt and hatred towards wizards deeds. Now, they are one of the most horrifying living creatures in Ashan.
Abilities: - Harpy: NO STRIKE & RETURN. Hatred towards Academy units. Upgrade: Death from above (no idea for better name) – Harpy Hag can catch 1 friendly 1 square unit and move it over obstacles (rocks, water, even city walls).

ELITE

Lizard Rider -> Basilisk Rider
Role: Damage
Description: Humans tamed fierce wolves and made them into obedient dogs. Orcs tamed dangerous desert lizards and made them into petrifying Basilisks.

Abilities: Leap. Upgrade: 25% to paralyze enemy for 2 turns.

Crusher -> Berserker
Role: Damage
Description: Some of the Orcs decide to loose control over their bodies and become avatars of revenge for a battle, they are known as Crushers. Those who were consumed by it are known as Berserkers - ultimate warriors.
Abilities: Extremely good stats. Player has no control over unit. Upgrade: No retaliation. Mind control immunity.

Centaur -> Centaur Skirmisher
Role: Ranged Damage
Description: Closest allies of Orcs... No explanation needed.
Abilities: No melee penalty. Upgrade: Mobile shooter.

CHAMPIONS

Behemoth -> Ancient Behemoth

Role: Tank
Description: One of the most feared creatures of Saahar Desert. It is said that their creation predates foundation destruction of Shantiri Empire. Nothing is certain, but many believes that Behemoths are guardians of mythical valley in the heart of Saahar Desert. This valley, became a refugee point for Orc tribe.
Abilities: No enemy retaliation. Suffers causalities at the start of the next turn. Upgrade: Regeneration. Can attack city walls.

Cyclops -> Blood Cyclops
Role:  Damage (upgrade: Ranged)
Description: Huge, oversized wizard's creation. Cyclops had no right to survive the experiments, but they were too dumb to know about it.
Abilities:  Immune to mind control spells and abilities. Upgrade: Death stare, Cyclops can attack unit in its line of sight (with laser beam ).

Behemoths as hairy, long horns like, elephant like creatures?

That will be totally new and unexpected for sure.

Trebuchet + Level 7 that can act as a wall-gate ramming of a totally imposing juggernaut of a tank unit, is, truly mighty in nature. Just like the Orcs love it. All might to the max. and, very little time to use its head to conjure destructive spells.

These creatures are so grounded when it comes to melee attacks and defense within battle, that, flying should be reserved to missile shooting like rocks or arrows. No flying creatures of Ashan would, ever, adopt monster looking creatures, such as the Heartless Orcs.

Bipedal Hyenas called Gnolls are a just fit as an evolved canine creature that is bound to overpower the wolves of Haven while the cowardly little Goblin runs away at first sight of danger to themselves.

Really start to appreciate the many new approaches of that line-up, buddy.

H6 Orcs bored me to death. It was the worst Stronghold line-up ever. Incipid creatures all over, except for maybe Centaur.

H5 Stronghold was the best for me, but that is mostly because of their Bloodrage, and how perfectly it was implemented. The hype was real in a long battle. I loved how Wyverns were seperated from the others with no Bloodrage, eating corpses to heal, poisoned every one; love how you had to position everyone carefully for your Cyclop to not hit your own creatures; how Shamans were able to cast slow and had no retalion on creatures with the magic Slow, Executioners just rushing, etc.

Regarding your line-ups, none of them suits me that much. I find Maulers uninterestin. Goblins are too weak. Oliphaunt doesn't suit my idea of a Stronghold army and I hate Harpies. But if I have to choose, I'd choose line-up 2

I've been playing doc lately and there are some really seriously badass looking orcs.

Like Blackskull tribe. Even Goblins look badass.

But since we are getting desert orcs, guess these are out

Can't help but to think they look a bit silly. I guess as long as the overall theme isn't too overdone ( like with aztec orcs in H6 ) and there are no mono-colours, Stronghold can look awesome. Especially if we are talking about war-beasts.

Yup. Before they said that they are going to use Sahaar Orcs, they hinted about Blackskull Orcs, and I was pretty happy about it as they look like twisted savage beasts(especially because we didn't get Inferno).
Needless to say, I was very disappointed about getting Sahaar Orcs instead. They still can be cool though, but not as cool as Blackskull clan Warlords.

if "the leak" i true (and I hope it is) we might see a more "H5-like" stronghold rather then H6 one, or DoC styled Sahaar orcs :-).

H5 stronghold was awesome, but the only thing I am really interested in from H5 stronghold is Cyclops, and sadly in the trailer their design is the same as in H6, a freaking meatball with 1 Eye...

One can only hope though. :/

I personaly have high hopes for H7 stronghold. It is favourtie faction of Erwan, and also Marzhin said it will be diferent than H6 and that it would be awsome.

I also liked H5 stronghold, as it was imo the best looking faction of H5, next to Sylvan and Dwarves. Only Cyclops was messed up, imo Centarur and Slayer were best in terms of look, but also mechanics. I also like Shaman, who sacrificed goblins to regain mana.

H6 was also great looking, apart from Cyclops. I most dislike his laser eye. If they wanna give him ranged attack, it should throw rocks. He is best suited to dealing melee pain and knock down walls imo. In H6 they give him ability to take damage later, and I hope he will retain this, as it was most amusing.

I realy hope that this "leak" is true and we will get Basilisk rider.

Now with that out of the way:
Female Cyclops.

But for some reason I imagined them having more pairs of breasts, but something like this would fit.. Plus it would hold the everlasting "pretty girls only club" that female models are often criticized for
