Nope. Right after you launch the Steam Client, the news window opens with announcements about all kinds of new games and, the upcoming officially announced to be released games that are to be sold+played through Steam.

Once the game is released, on January 29th, the game's official page will, obviously, host the lobbying of many critics and the many owners-account holders of Steam of this newest game's many comments.

That's not an answer to the question:

15$ for a completely redone game with a lot of extras added in.

In the end, what are the things that are added to the game, besides new grapics? (I already know what is remove by not implementing AB and SoD)

Steamworks support.
That's everything we know now.

So, actually get vanilla H3, without any important improvements, besides graphics. Even multiplayer option via steam is not worth the money. I cannot imagine playing H3 RoE, without everything from AB, SoD and HD mod. I'm not wasting my money on this

Really the main thing I resent is the no Random Map Generator.  I could get by without Conflux, additional campaigns and combo arties but the RMG is the breaking point for me.

Also not sure if you would be able to play with others who have the normal complete version or if everyone would have to buy the crappy HD ver.

Although I'm extremely happy that Heroes III are being rereleased in HD, I can't understand why they release it only on Windows 7&8. Why not XP? This game came out frigging 15 years ago! Even though all textures are being HD lifted, it can't justify this sudden "upgrade".

Maybe because Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP almost a year ago?

Oh, do you happen to know the exact date of it happening? I would love to hear that. Unless you know that, I don't really see your point in disagreeing with Maurice's point.

It's not Microsoft that rereleases the game My point is, why overlook still widely used system that, of course, runs non-steam version of the game?

Because Ubisoft surely believes only retarded people will continue to use a platform without any support-updates-security. Business. I was too a XP lover but here is evidence.

Well, yeah
But my question still stands, will Steam version of Heroes III work on XP?

Seriously, don't count on it. Why would a platform such as Steam (and the developers publishing on it) continue support for games on older, no longer supported OS'es? You don't see any developers creating general public software for DOS for instance either, or for Windows 3.11 for that matters. Windows XP is gone, it's a thing of the past.

More likely it will support vista and up (Even if it says Win7 and up)

Yeah, I understand that XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, but nonsteam Heroes III work perfectly on it, so why can't this version too?
