You may try to port into ERA Bastion and/or Forge tows (from VCMI mods) to get propoer experience before Oasis release!

imo, the posture of the ugallu looks like one of a slave, not even of a thief/rogue and not even the gremlins (who are slaves of the mages) have that posture, only the imps. i dont know the relationship between the races in the Oasis faction, but unlike the ugallu, the rakshasa look like a very proud race. Aren't they both humanoid felines? Shouldnt they be related?

Yes, ugallu or wasp will be moved to neutral creatures.

I don't plan other alternative units for Oasis, it is supposed to set it apart, as you have noticed, and correspond with the other mod of our group.

I hope that we are not talking about vanilla game, because it is way too much work. I think you are familiar with a work of Kuririn - it is not possible for one person to achieve this.

As for Oasis second upgrades, since I have 3D models it shouldn't be much of a deal, but personally I find alternative creatures more interesting than second upgrades.

Good observation. I am happy that you have figured it out by the look of the units alone. Society of Oasis is divided into castes with ugallu being kind of slaves, while Rakshasa are on a top of hierarchy.

The way i see Oasis is that of a subfaction of mages (Tower/Bracada). The goal/purpose of the division between them is still unknown and you will probably present it to us in the campaign.

So, the mages (lvl 5) allied with the rakshasa who are superior in hierarchy in comparison to the ugallu (both native to the Bracada desert?). The scorpions are probably tamed by the mages with magic tricks. The Sand Revenants (or whatever they re called) come from the Plane of Earth to aid the mages in their mission and they look like a counterpart of genie (from plane of air) and oceanids (from plane of water).

Also, the one thing that is specific to the mages is that they toy with creation, that is, they make golems (stone and obsidian gargoyles, stone/iron/gold/diamond golems, giants/titans and dragon golems, the alternative unit planned by the other team). Having this in mind and the removal of ugallu and wasps (who are decent, btw and i like that the M&M games inspired you to include this unit in the faction), i suggest you to create some other golems along with Lamassu (who are copies of the sphinxes from the Bastion faction, only stronger, and thus, you can include in the story more fan-made factions). Maybe make the ugallu be golems, showing the attempt of the mages to copy  another humanoid race, Rakshasa.

I already have vanilla castles having 3rd upgrades, but no on-town-screen building and I work on ERA (some upgrades don't match much but I achieved it myself), and base on FU/NU Code a bit .

If you prepare second upgrades for each of 7 creature tiers (sadly  eight tier have to  be abandoned in my approach) I would happily include this town in ERA, basing on code of DP. The mayor problem are  graphics. Then the city which will be "phased" into Oasis  (not replaced, not added, just a way it's done in DP). I hope you will share with me the resorces, and a tiny help.
There are  still two unresolved problems in my approach: it cannot be starting town, and there are no MoreHeroes plugin... which we may ignore, marking oasis as neutral town.
PS: Wait I said that eight tier have to be scrapped in my approach? nope! it would be good for town defender (read this in Knightmare  Mods thread)

Cool, this project is alive, you got me a bit worried there Nephretes

Nice changes. I really disliked the Wasps in the lineup, if you want to keep them still, neutrals is a nice option.

Now with Rakshasas in the lineup (they look great btw) maybe those lvl 1 cat people should be discarded... Why you ask? They're not that bad but I dislike their design somewhat, they look... miserable (even as a lvl 1). You had a nicer design for them, those more clothed ones, 4th in the row from the left on the screen uploaded a few pages back. Maybe instead of throwing them out you should reconsider that design? A beduin-like warrior seems fitting...

Oh and do you have a bigger render of Rakshasas? If yes please post it here

Dervish? Cool design but they seem a bit out of place with all those monsters Well there's that mage unit but still. Hope they won't be a material for some rule 34 ideas Nevertheless they're a lot better then Wasps.

Well you got some of the story right again, but not everything - leave something to uncover Possible Campaign higly depends on VCMI map editor progress, and I am happy to see that something is running in that matter again.

Bastion is a separate mod from separate author and I don't plan to include anything connected to this town by any means.

I think you should really speak with Kuririn sooner or later. If the goal is the same why not cooperate.

I think I didn't understand what you have meant earlier. So you will only re-write town for era if it has second upgrades and ina form of neutral town like dragon peak? What I was searching more is to swap town classical way like Grove did. Would rather lose one original town than have nonfunctional Oasis without heroes.

Obviously, I am familiar with it, as I have alpha version on my computer. What I meant here is that even if there is a lot of work done already, especially in a field of town screens, there are still a lot creatures to be made, and even more if he decide to replace old creatures colored in 2D.

It is not yet decided whether we discard cats or wasp. Cats look better, but we have already rakshasa in line up, while wasps need model improvement to look good enough to think about them.

I don't have bigger render of Rakshasa, as I have not finished this unit either. I will be sure to post it when time comes

Well, two humans in faction are more than enough, if we add more it gets monotonous and starts to look like another castle.

I would like there would be more heroes plugin, but  they shown me that it is difficult. I understood that you  prefer full changed town, with heroes, but I wish more rich content.

Please share resources with me I know it is hard to  implement such things but  I'll try. If there's hota implementation in VCMI, why would there not be Oasis implementation in ERA? Gently please to share resources, and allow to use it in my way

Now there  can be only one mod at once using amethyst, so if you add more creatures in "replace town" mod it will be incompatible with my mod. Probably replacingcreatures also.

You can have Both replace version, and enchance version, where the latter please do with me (allow me to use your  resources and a bit of help), I would be also happy if  you have creatures for 2nd upgrades (building is not neccessary).

I promise I would have you  in credits

Sorry Neph, wrong citation. I was reffering to majaczek. There's bunch of ideas with graphics that waiting for one who is skilled enough to incorporate them ino ERA.

Oasis is not finished (I guess), but before final release you could try to rewrite Forge town for ERA. Neph is one of its co-author! Here are the resources:

sorry I don't like Forge flavour. Yeah the town buildings are nice. Yeah there is Lore. But I really don't like the units...

Oasis units are yummy

but yes I would start with something easier... maybe new version of Dragon Peaks for Amethyst Upgrades/Knightmare Kingdoms mod?

EDIT: I am familiar with  kuririn project but we have gone different ways, but if he provide new graphics to my mod, I may share my  graphics or code (but most of graphics isn't exactly mine however most of code is mine).

I hope that Rakshasa being an alternate unit is the most drastic change to the regular town lineup in Heroes that Oasis has, like Cove's third pirate upgrade. Any more would make it feel like a WOG town, which is a major turnoff to purists.

That being said, I'm really interested in unit special abilities and town unique buildings. Hopefully those are very unique and fun new additions.

I like the wasp, and the cat. Generally the less human units in lineup  the better for me personally. So dont see any problem with having two cat like units in town, as they are both unique to the town and cant be find in any other town, unlike filthy humans.

The Dervish looks awesome... but for some sort of reason I continue not to like the Sand Spirits' design. I do feel that they should be replaced or at least redesigned.
