Game freezes
Hey guys,
I have some recurring issues with a game that freezes at some point, so let me explain the situation. They occur both in WoG 3.58 as well as in ERA, but it seems to affect ERA less.
I decided to edit a map in the editor to make it more to my liking and so I gave enemy heroes vast armies and increased their skills. I also made a few adjustments to the map, but nothing fancy like using scripts. When I was finally done, I tried to playtest it, but at some point during an enemy's turn, the game freezes. I have tried hard to find a solution in the map editor, but nothing helped. Now in my most recent game I discovered that when I took away a neutral monster on the map by cheating my way to it, then using town portal to get back to my area, the game didn't freeze. This leads me to believe the bug is when AI is in combat. The game freezes before AI engages in combat, however. I played the map before I pimped it and had no problems whatsoever, but then again, I have edited maps before in a similar way and had no issues then.
Does anyone have the same experience of games freezing this way? Also, does anyone know if and how I can fix this? I can provide saved games if necessary.

There can be endless causes, from AI level up to AI casting 80 summon boats. Unfortunately, only one able to code erm can find the cause, because you have first to delete AI heroes faction by faction then see which is guilty, then code that hero and find why it hangs. It takes some time to find out and is useful for fixing maps where the freeze always occurs.
But in general, avoid giving AI heroes huge armies while they can move across the map. Because AI is coded to focus on a single leader, therefore they will all pass their armies to one of them, so it may overflow. Other causes may be because of wog specific features. I had my map tew3 freeze always on 6/3/3 and it took me some time until I found that one AI immobile hero had expert learning and it took him 6 months, 3 weeks and 3 days game time to automatically level up (+300 exp/daily). And game didn't like AI level up, no clue why.
Go figure.

Well they all seem to stem from the same situation where AI wants to engage in combat. The problem has occurred for 3 players so far and sometimes the problem occurs on a specific day, but not all of the time, which makes it more random and harder to spot what is going wrong.
The only thing I am pretty sure about is that it occurs in combat.

I made me and pink allies and when the game froze, I quit and loaded the game so I could do the same thing the AI did, but I couldn't get it to freeze or crash or anything. I'm getting a bit desperate
