HoMM3 HD version Modding
Hello,
Did anyone already tried to mod HD version of the game? any success?
I tried to replace Pikeman with new creature (just his appearence), but with no success. Is it me, or it's impossible to mod this version of the game?
It was a long time since I last modded H3, so maybe I did something wrong. The creature itself looks like this:
I would be thankful if anyone could check and try this combat .def with old version of the game and tell if it works. DOWNLOAD

I would be grateful if modders would spend time on more worthwhile projects, i.e. anything except H3HD modding.

Maybe he means HD mod?
If he wants to mod ROE HD Remaster, he must work with spritesheets (replacing sprites) and use creatures with corresponding 3x sizes.
Format for graphics of HD Reissue is not same as in HMM3.
These perversions with placing objects sprites on several spritesheets at different angles killed all possibilities to mod them. It's too hard to replace or add something new IMHO.

Well, it's all for the better. That "HD" edition doesn't deserve such attention.

Homm3 HD should be not veyr different from OH3 in terms of modding, Just graphics format changed and it's up you to figure it out.
Either way, I see no reason to introduce low-poly models into HD game.
Which is otherwise cumbersome to mod and it comes with more bugs than OH3.

There is no graphics format. It's a bunch of sprites spreaded across thousands of files.

He looks like from Atlantis mod.
Where did you get him?
Are there another units in this style?

Its certainly custom creature from World of Warcraft, extracted by print screen, as custom creatures can't be imported in 3ds max.

I made it with wow model viewer. Wanted to make mod which changes all creatures to new ones in hd version, but after extracting .defs from .lod I didnt found anything new, same 256 color small frames. But game crashes if changing anything, unles there would be a tool for extracting .pak files (winrar doesn't work), where is all new material.
