Heligrin said: I find Sandro's behaviour during HO events quite strange too. Especially his talks about salvation in nothingless and "eternal silence of true enlightment".
I don't remember his lines explicitly (will check them later), but I believe it was propaganda-style talks. He actually created a sect religion (for lack of a better turn) to counter the faith in the Dragons. I think he doesn't believe in 60% of what his Heralds are saying. I like his line "I wore a mask just to unmask them".
Btw, if you noticed, Sandro changes during HO. He starts as "green" (as he was in SoD), then becomes "purple". And his behavior changes slightly. I think the Void started to slowly consume him.

Ubi just likes recycling artwork. You'd be surprised how often that happens. Or not

More than that, their artists like to take photos from Google an turn them into portraits (remember the first portrait of Deleb?)

Marzhin told us that the base of Zakera's portrait was Lucretia's original one. Thats probably the reason of the recycled torso.

Lucretia's original portrait? It would be interesting to see it, actually.

To be honest, I still don't know why the MMHO team didn't just use the existing portrait of Sandro from H6.

Actually, the character portraits from HO are all fresh and new, which is great, as there are lots of cool images for both units and characters - for example, They have really cool vampires:
They look just like H6/H7, and yet so much cooler. It's mostly thanks to both the gameplay and these portraits that even despite reusing the most a game ever did (models from H5 and H6, soundtracks from H5, CoH, H6), it still has its own distinctive feel.

Kings, who lied in the ancient ruins of a Shantiri necropolis, which retained a lot of its magical power... it's not impossible that, similarly to the case of Chimo and Talon, some power kept their souls in their bodies.

I need clarification on something - when in Hammers of Fate Isabel-as-Biara created the Red Church, the Angels are said to have abandoned the Empire, after noticing that the name of Elrath is no longer called upon. At the same time, an unit called "Seraph", the blood-stained angel is still under Saint Isabel's command.
As part of the reforms of Gwendolyn Falcon, Seraphs from Heroes 6 and Heroes 7 answer exclusively to the imperial crown - does it mean that while the "purebred" Angels left the Empire, it's those Seraph that remained? Still, under these circumstances, it makes Freyda's complaints about not having Angels under her sound weird - it still should be possible to send reinforcements those to Freyda, shouldn't it?
That is... unless Biara wanted to mess with the minds of these Seraphs and it was simply that preparing them to reflect the Empire she wanted took her longer than it did for Human troops? That's one explanation, I guess...

Angels left the Empire because they probably realised there was something wrong with Isabel, just like they left when she struck a deal with Markal. The Red Church, all those Demon attacks, maybe they got suspicious but were lacking proof to accuse Isabel. As for why Isabel haven't sent the Red Angels to Freyda... maybe she didn't want to give her very powerful troops. It's kinda dangerous to give your not-so-loyal general a good army (look at our history).
The Fallen Angels that were affiliated with the Red Queen are actually the remaining Celestials that never got rid of their hatred and desire for revenge. So, they became these Fallen Angels with blood on their hands. In a way, they are servants of Demons.

Ah, yeah. There's another (it was Erwan's iirc):
It is interesting to know that the Celestials that survived the Hall of Memories are really the souls of all those who perished during the Elder Wars. They have strong desire for vengeance against a lot of people: the Faceless are number one, but also their fellow Angels maybe because they felt they were too weak or to complacent. So they would not be too happy with the way the Holy Empire evolves between 564 YSD and 969 YSD. It would be a good case for them to not become servants of the demons which the Fallen Angels are (in a way) but at least to be the right arm of the Inquisition, really harsh and cruel angels.
P.S.: both versions don't contradict each other though.

Speaking of awkward similarities...
I... must admit I didn't notice that until a friend of mine asked whether person on SoD's cover was Markal....
