The US cannot really be compared to any country, as it is the world's only hyperpower and spends more money on its military than all the other countries combined. But of course the entire free world and its allies has a responsibility towards world peace, not just the US, and even though human rights are universal, we cannot expect everyone to embrace western values everywhere. For instance, John McCain said in this very insightful interview that the best solution for Syria would probably be a coalition of western-friendly Muslim countries intervening on the side of the FSA/YPG, rather than direct US involvement on the ground, as those have an easier time being accepted by the local population.

I'm probably what would be described as a compassionate conservative in US political terms, and there are many things in America one can and should be critical about. That doesn't take away the fact that it has certain responsibilities as the no. 1 world power. Russia, Iran and the others won't stop with their "interventionism" even if the US does.
Instead of writing a long post explaining you where you are wrong, perhaps it will be better to ask you first - do you really believe that the US can lead a successful war against Russia, China or even Iran? That means - to finance it, to gain the needed international support, then to start and accomplish any operational and strategic goals that the Pentagon crew might set. If your answer is yes, do explain how please.

As for Syria and the Middle East - the "western-friendly" Muslims are of the Saudi type and if you start comparing them to the "western-hostile" Muslims, you may find out that they differ in almost nothing, mainly except their affiliation.

If the US engages in war with Russia/China then I predict a grim future. For all countries.
I believe that all conventions regarding Nuclear and/or Bioweapons will be ignored as soon as one side starts to falter. Other countries will most likely be fooled to go into the war aswell which will just speed up destruction. It may even come to the draconic scenario that the losing side blows up said weapons in its own country to make sure the "victor" gets no spoils.
With that in mind, war will have been waged for nothing.
If the warmongers were to be told, "Okay, we will have war with X and Y but YOU will be in the first front line. Here's a rifle, a grenade and some standard medical supplies, good luck!" I highly doubt it would even reach a suggestion board in the most minor discussion.
To quote Pindar "War is sweet to them that know it not."
